We love living here at the Renaissance. The common areas are so pretty and clean. If we ever need maintenance for any reason it is easy to put in a request and fixes are fast, friendly and clean! The management team is always friendly and helpful too. We love that we can have a garage to keep our car safe when hail storms come. The location is also ideal. It is so easy to get to Hwy 9 and Interstate 35. Additionally, all the best fast food is within walking distance and gas stations are close by. I highly recommend leading at The Renaissance Apartments.
This complex was promising at first, but over the 2 years we lived there we experienced issues. I will say it is a beautiful complex, albeit small, and the apartment itself was lovely.
However, the entire time my boyfriend and I lived in our unit, our A/C and heating was 100% subpar. In the summer, it would get up to 76 degrees inside the apartment. During the winter, we would wake up and it was 59 degrees inside. We had to buy multiple fans and space heaters to stay warm. I suspect the A/C unit was old and the insulation was ineffective - our power bills were insane (over $200 some months). Not only did it get hot (or cold) but it took hours to heat up even a degree or two. For reference, the place we live in now can heat up 8 degrees in 20-30 minutes.
The maintenance was usually kind, but we would complain about the heating and cooling issues to no avail. Typically, someone would come to the apartment, look around for less than 5 minutes, change the air filter, and leave. I once had maintenance come and tell me to turn on my ceiling fans to help it cool down... I felt incredibly insulted at the implication I didn't understand to turn ceiling fans on when it's hot - especially when we've complained multiple times about the inefficient A/C unit. We had to threaten to withhold part of our rent to get them to get a move on with fixing it.
The dishwasher melted many of our items and cracked 2 glass Pyrex dishes. We also had downstairs neighbors who would bang on their ceiling at all hours, claiming we were too loud and "stomping around" - even when we were in bed sleeping. The mail boxes were broken into TWICE in the 2 years we lived there, and packages & mail were stolen - leading them to lock up all of the mail in the office. Finally, our rent was astronomical, and rose by at least a hundred dollars during the 2 years we were there. There is NEVER parking anywhere after 5 pm. Speaking of the parking lot, I was catcalled more than once by a man in the complex lot while I was walking to my car, which made me feel incredibly unsafe.
Finally, keep extensive photo evidence of what the unit looks like when you move out. An office lady came to do a "walk through" before we turned in keys, but she stood in the entryway and said "looks good, you guys should get your whole deposit back" before leaving. They then kept almost our entire security deposit claiming that there was extra cleaning needed... After we had a maid service come clean the unit before moving out.
It is not the worst complex around by any means, but there were a whole host of issues we dealt with when we lived here.
January 2023 UPDATE: Since my last review, the management and maintenance team have continued to be amazing. We had a tornado come through in April which took power out for the whole area and left the property with some damage. They provided generators for community use in strategic places throughout the property and kept us all informed and as comfortable as they could. They also got things fixed up really quickly, definitely much quicker than some other properties nearby.
Now, with the most recent extreme cold/dangerous wind chill they have continued to be SUPER responsive, very kind, and get things taken care of. I love living here, entirely because of the property management and maintenance team. They're the best, absolute ROCK STARS.

I've lived at The Renaissance since May 2022, and have genuinely enjoyed my experience as a resident. The property is well managed AND maintained. In my experience, the management team is responsive, friendly, and keeps the channels of communication open with regular updates, community activities, and an 'open door' attitude. Similarly, maintenance is quick and responsive to any requests submitted through the portal. In cases when a request cannot be met within 24 hours (rare, but has happened), they provide us with clear insight into what the next steps are and have always given us realistic timelines for resolving an issue.
Cleanest facility ANYWHERE in the united states'! Hands Down! They also have me the old appliances contributing to the very needy in Norman, the local community. Green Companies Are Essential in Oklahoma! JohnLake
Awesome maintenance crew, solid place to live overall, but horribly low amount of available parking. Having a relatively close parking spot was my number one reason for choosing a new residence, and before moving in I was told the parking situation shouldn't be an issue. It's been a year and unfortunately that's been untrue. In fact, the problem has only grown over time. Having my own garage wouldn't be of any actual help either, as the nearest ones are located about as far away as where I normally have to park. If I'm not getting home before 4:30, I know I'll be in for a long walk to my front door. It's incredibly frustrating.
My girlfriend and I live here with our dog and absolutely love it. We are finishing up our second year living here and the Renaissance is the perfect spot. The management staff is super friendly and helpful at the clubhouse, there are a ton of amenities between the tennis court, dog park, and pool area. Most importantly, Craig and his maintenance staff are constantly hard at work keeping the entire property in pristine condition and are always just a phone call away whenever we need assistance. Him and his team provide us constant peace of mind and are always super friendly and personable!
Great location! I love the amenities available to all the residents! The dog park is my favorite part, my dachshund loves visiting there. The residents are friendly and quiet, the apartment is super-nice, the staff team is very helpful. Also, I'm located next to several stores and restaurants I love now and very close to campus.
Maintenance came and fixed my faucet quickly! Didn’t expect them to come so quickly, but greatly appreciate them!👍

Best Ramen in Oklahoma!! (Inkfire ramen)
Yes, that sounds like a bold statement but let me tell you something my friends, I had my fair share in the ramen tasting world and this one makes it to my top 5.
The broth is angelic, so smooth, so flavorful,
The staff are so wholesome and kind! They were super pairing with my indecisiveness. Also they let you sample flavors to figure out which one you want! Also the gelato is REALLY good. Absolutely recommend this place!
I can nearly always count on a large university town having at least one health food joint. I donât mean Whole Foods, Sprouts, et al., but rather the mom-and-pop kind that are more than happy to serve a small but loyal clientele.
