I tested positive for covid today 1/11/2024 and my reservation Is on 1/13/2024 - 1/14/2024. Since the property refused to cancel the reservation i am forced to use the reservation. I want the guests and property to be aware of this as i will be checking in. Good luck.
As replied by the property I called Expedia and they told me that the hotel has denied a refund and they have it on the record. I was going to come to this place on a later date with the family but I am disappointed in them and will not visit.
When you want to pamper yourself and truly feel exquisitely special, go stay a night at The Reeds! This beautiful boutique hotel is the Ritz-Carlton of Stone Harbor, New Jersey. You truly do not have to lift a finger. The open-air Waterfront Grill overlooking the bay provides a delightful and fun retreat from March to October. The SAX dining experience is bar none! The servers treat you as royalty! Turn down service is available, if desired. Delicious chocolate brownies are available on the nightstand and a fruit and cheese platter welcome you with a handwritten note.
The Reeds at Shelter Haven is centrally located to many shops including a Christmas Store and providing locally made crafts for Christmas decor, an Ace Hardware where the helpful hardware man will assist you in purchasing wine, and every type of pizza place, Tavern, local brewery pub, candy and pastry shops you can imagine! A 20-minute ride to the lighthouse on Seven Mile Island. Easy access to dozens of seafood and Italian restaurants.
But you don’t need to go anywhere! The food and drinks are fabulous, the service is heavenly, and the beds are so comfy you’re gonna wanna sleep in tomorrow!
My husband and I drove down for 3 hours. The hotel was fine and the food was good the bar and restaurant was also enjoyable. However, they blew our 12 volt battery on our electric car. We spoke to 2 managers on site. Emailed the managers and asked to speak to someone for help. To this day, not onle single manager has returned our emails or our personal conversations. This is outrageous and deeply concerning. We are only searching for answers and accountability. We spent a great deal of money. This is unacceptable from a “boutique” hotel.
I cannot comment on the rooms and location. This post is specifically for the Christmas brunch. My family and I have been going to this Christmas event for the past three year. Every time being an early brunch reservation. This year we opted for the 2 o’clock seating and arrived on-time.
When we arrived all seemed normal. We were greeted by our server and our 4 year old daughter did the Christmas festivities. Immediately after we took our photo with Santa he got up and left. I thought wow they must know who the last people with Santa are.
Then we went to get our food from the buffet and when we sat back down all the employees running the Christmas things began fully breaking down the entire Christmas area. When I say break down I mean to the point where nothing else was left but the tree.
This took all of the holiday energy out of the room as my daughter watched them remove and box up everything. The room even has a divider but that was not used where the event could have been broken down where the guests couldn’t see it.
We were there a total of maybe 45 minutes and this was the status of the room for a 2pm seating. In my opinion it was inconsiderate, rude, and unprofessional as a guest. My mother-in-law spoke to someone about it who worked there. Her response was, “we will consider your comments but the department/director who makes those decisions was not there?!?!”.
Like I mentioned I have done this several times but DO NOT select the later slot!
BIRTHDAY GETAWAY DONE RIGHT! A huge thank you to the staff at The Reeds at Shelter Haven for making my sister's birthday stay a memorable one. Everything went flawlessly from reservations to check-out. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Kiana, the Concierge...thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. You are deserving of far more than a simple thank you. You love what you do, and it shows. The Reeds is a true example of excellent hospitality!
We had an amazing stay at this upscale boutique hotel. The Reeds is the definition of understated elegance and the facilities are wonderful. The staff at the hotel and restaurants were kind, friendly, and helpful. The waterfront grill has an amazing sunset view with good food. Some of the food is expensive, but they have many different options - the shared salads being excellent. The rooms have a beachy feel & were clean and spotless. The beds were very comfy too - something I am very picky about. The only negative were the rooms seemed to have central air conditioning and did not go lower than 72. We were at the beach most of the day so this did not bother me unless I wanted to take a day nap. At night with the fan on high it got very cool so no complaints.
The little "extra" touches everywhere is what made the experience so great. The services they offer their guests complementary also just show how much the management cares about quality. Complementary valet parking, kayaking and paddle boarding, coffee/tea, toys/boogie boards to use, quick shuttle to the beach, beach chair and towel service, and beach snacks/water - just off the top of my head. We can't wait to come back again!
The Reeds at Shelter Haven is the perfect resort destination in Stone Harbor. We stayed here in 2023 over the July 4th holiday. The facility is immaculately maintained and likely the only hotel at the Jersey Shore that actually feels like a "luxury" property. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The staff is courteous and friendly. The outdoor bar has incredible sunset views overlooking the bay and the indoor bar has some of the best live music we've experienced.
We'll be coming back for many years to come!
Hotel is beautiful, quaint. There are three eating options connected to the hotel the main restaurant, a taco and margarita restaurant called buckets the nachos were good selection could have been better, and then there is the pizza place the pizza was good the service was excellent my bartender was a retired gentleman that made sure I was comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful when I thought I lost an item. Good place to go

An elegant touch of rare, true White Table Cloth (translation: high quality) Italian Cuisine in the heart of the New Jersey Shore. On par with the classic Italian Restaurants we loved in Manhattan... where the Chef himself comes out to check on th
Really amazing spot in stone harbor. Tucked away upstairs, this place has great drinks, amazing atmosphere and solid menu. Kids loved the cheeseburger and Mac n cheese (the real kind). We go for the fish tacos crab Rangoon and strawberry margaritas
It's a nice place to hike and experience what the jersey shore was like before it was so built up. It's relaxing to sit in the shade and hear the bird's songs. We saw robins, blue Jays, cardinals, and many other birds
