The Ransome Inn - Inn in Port Jefferson - 409 E Broadway, USA

When we arrived he showed us our lodging which was all one could ask for. A wonderful room with all the accommodations one would need. Lovely kitchenette fully furnished. Lovely sitting area with very comfortable sofas. Great bedroom area. It was private and peaceful. The garden area was spectacular with beautiful flowers and lovely landscaping.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Ransome Inn B&B on a Saturday near St. Patrick’s Day 2022. Beautiful room, firm mattress, lots of towels, exceptionally clean. They generously offered us an upgrade. Barbara and Dan were both great to talk to and Barbara drove us around the town so we would know the layout of Port Jefferson and how to get to an event later that night. Breakfast was wonderful — fruit beautifully arranged, fresh soda bread, and omelette. Would go back in a heartbeat. Warm thanks!

My husband, 16-year old son, our dog and I stayed for a weekend in late July while visiting family. The Ransome Inn is located within walking distance of the "down port" area of Port Jefferson and they are very pet-friendly. The location is beautiful and quiet. I will say that if you walk down port, either be prepared to hike up the hill or uber back if you are not in super shape. I found the walk wonderful and invigorating but it was not easy!||||Hosts Dan and Barbara are super warm and welcoming. I am vegan, my husband and son are both omnivores. Our breakfasts were fantastic and very creative. Barbara can cook!!||||We stayed in the room above the garage which is quaint and beautiful. Like Dan and Barbara, the home is warm and welcoming. The mattress was more firm than I like, and the wifi was spotty, but the comforter and couches were super-cozy.||||We would definitely stay here again.

There are Air BnB and Boutique Hotels, but you still cannot beat the experience of a real Bed and Breakfast run by great folks... and Barbara and Dan at Ransome Inn are great folks. Along with their 3 cocker spaniels, we felt like we were visiting lifelong friends. Their warmth and hospitality started even before we checked in. While it is a historic home, the updates were done with great thought and taste. The Carriage House is above the garage - large and well appointed. The rooms in the home make you feel like you are visiting grandma. As hosts, they read your personality well. Want to engage in long conversations, they are there. Want to be left alone - they get that too. Breakfast was fresh and above average. If you are a true BnB fan, you will be pleased. If you haven't done a true BnB, I think you will be pleased too.

We frequent this B&B each time we visit our son and family in Rocky Point and have never been disappointed! Congrats to the owners Dan and Barb for making my husband a believer in the B&B concept of lodging! We travel frequently and in 44 years of marriage he totally refused to stay in a B&B. There are very few choices of lodging within a close proximity of Rocky Point so he agreed to give it a try and so glad he did! We were offered a variety of room choices...all clean and decorated perfectly to give you that warm and cozy home feeling. Dan and Barb immediately opened up their home to us and have always accommodated our every need while visiting the area. A bonus to mention is that each morning you are treated to a full spread consisting of sweet breads and a nice variety of breakfast choices...all homemade! We would have to give the Ransome Inn a five star rating all the way around! Thanks Dan and Barb...see you next time!

Arriving a few days prior to the closing of our house we decided to stay at the Ransome Inn. We stayed at the Carriage House which is separate from the main building. It was private, homey and extremely clean. We couldn't have been more pleased.|| The owners, Barbara and Dan were so nice & so accommodating. They offered suggestions as to where we could go during the day and some restaurants we might like to go to in the evening. Port Jefferson is a lovely town. || Barbara gave us a tour of the other rooms that they have available. They are all adorable and the atmosphere throughout the total B&B was awesome.|| The breakfasts they served, thanks to Barbara's wonderful culinary skills, were so fresh and so yummy. Each day she surprised us with a different breakfast.|| You certainly can't beat the price with the value you get. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it.

This was a fabulous find. I felt so at home and welcomed. We were met by Dan one of the owners who called the day before to confirm our time of arrival. If you need to go to Long Island for any reason you should stay here. The next morning we were presented with a sumptuous breakfast of fresh fruit, chocolate croissant, and an egg souffle with ham, cheese and spinach. Truly the best, Barbara is a fantastic cook! They not only were so hospitable and welcomed us but also welcomed our dog. We are now trying to find reasons to go back.

Barbara was the hostess with the mostest. She went above and beyond to make||sure our stay was excellent. We were on there for a short visit(niece's graduation) from||June 23 to June 26th. I will definetly stay there again. Barbara keep up the excellent work. Sorry I did not get to meet Dan, he sounds like a gem. We stayed at the Carriage House and it was so homey. We had all the comforts of home. See you next time we are back in NY. you guys are the best of the best.
