The Public House - American restaurant in Norfolk - 1112 Colley Ave, USA

It's a good place but used to be a lot better. They changed the menu a ton each time getting smaller and smaller with the price going up. Every time a rework would come out me and my friends would lose our favorite dishes. They have amazing trivia on Tuesday nights They have pool tables as well

Our group ate at The Public House this past week in the back room. Shane was our bartender/server and he did a great job for a big group. I ordered the fried pickles and Cuban sandwich. The fried pickles were pretty good and had a great kick to them. The Cuban was okay. Not the best Cuban I’ve had, it could have had a little more mustard and pickles to counter the meat. Final thing, the room was very dark and made the place look dingy. Nice ceiling though.

Last time I came it was for the Birthday Bash Anniversary Dinner that had a curated menu with drink pairings. Glad we came back! Fun date night! Great food and service. Nice portions. We enjoyed the mac and cheese, fish tacos and steak frites Lots of cocktails and whiskey to choose from.

Our pretzel was served to us cold. My dad never got his meal. Our service was not great, but he was very nice. Nice atmosphere, just wish it had a better menu. This place has potential!

You’ll find a nice selection of beers and some pool tables here. They have a room in the back with two pool tables and a bar. You can also smoke in that room, but it was very warm in there. I went in there for more drinks and started sweating immediately, but everyone in there seemed to be having a good time. There’s also a smaller room off to the side with a pool table. Operating the coin mechanism was a little janky but you can make it work. They also have a covered patio. Overall not a bad place to check out.

1st time trying them out and they had only 3 out of 7 entrees. Waitress was the best and most patient!!! Food quality not the best.

Classic old school bar vibes. Location is awesome! Went for trivia night (Tuesday) and that was loads of fun! The Mac & Cheese I had was amazing, and the Shepherds pie had great flavor! Place was packed and service was a little slow at the bar, but not bad considering. If you go on Tuesday evenings, be sure to make a reservation, especially if you have a larger party.

This is a phenomenal place! Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful structure, lots of room, and an excellent menu. Went here for a drag brunch too and it was the most amazing experience. Keep this up! It's what the world needs right now.
