Arrived and it looked like the place was still being renovated and a damp smell prevailed through booking in. When given the keycard we were told the room is small as we need to check it before we pay. So went to the room, the floor was carpeted but seemed to be over lumpy concrete and grimy walls, once we got to the room is was small, dusty and overall not nice to say it politely. We went down not sure if we would stay and thought as it's just from 9pm till 8am, what the hell. The deal person standing Infront of a dirty stained mirror with the hotel name said he upgraded us to a better room, so needing sleep we went for it. The room was dirty, paint on surfaces, polyfiller in walls, the security spy hole had no lens so you could see in the room from outside, the bathroom didn't have a handle or lock... Just a big hole where it should be. The bed was stained as were the pillows and we ended up sleeping mostly dressed after finding a pillow that was not grotty. Overall not a nice experience at all. We wouldnt try the food and drink and at $3 for the coke machine didn't go for that either.

Parked in parking lot out back, wasnt sure which door to go in, when guests were coming out the back and told us we can go that way. Walked down the hallway to the lobby which was an array of decorations, and on the front desk a sign says to call the number to check in. So, if you dont have a cell phone or if its dead you're out of luck. I called, and the man said he'd be right down and asked if I had reservations (which I did). Took him about 5 minutes and he gave me 2 rooms to "check out to see what I liked better" .... I specifically wanted a suite with a jetted tub. Went into room 109 it was small, dark, jetted tub had a string of green lights above it, I chuckled to myself about it being "mood lighting" ... and then I saw a dirty towel laying on the floor. NOPE. Go to next room 101. It was off by itself on the other side of hallway, which I liked. Right off of the porch. It's actually a double room. The living area is listed as a fireplace, but there is NO way to burn anything in it (safely anyways). The air conditioner in that room is broken, but it did stay cool from the other rooms air. The TV did work. The furniture looks like its from salvation army, but its do able. Walked inside the bathroom. We were only stocked with 2 towels, 0 washcloths and 1 hand towel. Bring your own shampoo, because they leave the USED hotel ones for you. Grose! Theres a few holes in the walls, paint is chipping, cable and out lets are coming out of the wall, no smoke detectors. Good things: like I said, the man was nice. The shower is nice, the jetted tub is nice, again the '70's type mood lighting, this time behind plastic tiles. The bed is super soft, and comfy. The bed linen is nice. The TV works. The fridge works If your expecting 3 - 5 stars, not it. 2 at best. Not worth what you pay, for this room. But you'll definitely have memories to laugh about.

I travel for a living and spend most of the year in hotels. I've stayed in far worse hotels than this, especially so in Tunkhannock. I would much rather stay here. The Indian gentleman at the front desk was very nice to me. He asked me if I wanted to see the room before I checked in which almost no one will do for you anymore. I greatly appreciated it. So for the average traveler you're probably not going to enjoy this place. You can tell it's a location under constant renovation by the owners who work hard for their business. As a result there are minor cosmetic issues which are being tended to between guest stays, and other minor inconveniences like certain lights not working, no full-size towels in the rooms, etc. Honestly none of that bothers me. My room was clean. The sheets were clean. The room was very inexpensive. And the one staff member I spoke to was polite and accommodating. That's pretty much all I care about. Once they finish fixing this place up, it'll be a really nice 5🌟 hotel.

*AVOID* 1. Not manned at reception. Had to call a number and someone turned up after 30 minutes. Reading reviews I see its not first time. 2. Toilet seat in my room has a big crack and is tapped together 3. Bathroom very dull and stains everywhere 4. Bed sheets were not even clean properly!! 5. Iron does not work. Plugged in and water leaking through the wire!! 6. Smells and very dull rooms Overall for the money charged you would expect something better. Honestly stay somewhere else. Avoid this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days, and was terrified! First, there's no staff readily available on site. You have to call a cell number and wait for stuff to show up. Second, the bar and throughout the halls are dilapidated! There's mild and a musty smell throughout the place. Third, we were clear that we didn't want staff to enter our room, and after learning about the first item on here, figured our wishes would be met. However, after leaving to do errands and finally returning there, there were clean towels set on our bed regardless. That was it for me. I went bec it was cheap. But I'd rather spend more than go there again!

Ok so I was travelling solo and just needed a stopover for the night. Checked TA and saw this little place and the reviews seemed good for the low cost so I figured I'd see what a $55 a night hotel with pretty good reviews got me. The hotel itself is a historic building that they have upgraded on the inside to a modern look. It has a bar and restaurant that seems about 90% finished, just not open yet, a work in progress. My room was not big by any means but clean with a comfy bed sufficient for a solo traveler and looked newly renovated. Flat screen with cable, wifi, air conditioner and small work desk. The bathroom was a stand up shower and had ample hot water with good pressure. There was also a small balcony for guests to use with some ornate iron work dating back to much earlier times that one could sit out on and look down on the main street. I have to say that this being the lowest I've ever paid for a room I was apprehensive but being up for an adventure and alone I went for it. In the end I feel they have a great price point for what you get and I would have paid more for the room. The man and woman that seemed to run it were very nice and happy to make sure your stay was nice. I will definitely stay here again when in the area and maybe check out the larger suites they offer next time. PS Once I parked my bike I didn't have to drive for anything else, 1 block to a CVS, 3 or 4 decent food options some with bars, 2 banks within a block, ice cream shop and there is an old art deco theater directly across the street with current releases showing and about a block to the riverfront. More than worth the price they charge to stay here.

Absolutely disgusting inside, with a horrible smell upon entering. The desk apparently closes at 9pm so we waited 30min at the desk and left because no one was there to check us in. While waiting, we were pleased to find brown Skittles in a candy machine...didn't know the made that color. Absolutely awful. I'd post room conditions but we were never even able to see it. Save yourself an awful experience and don't go here.

I stayed here last week and I have to say that this was one of the best stays I had in a hotel in a long time. I was greeted by a very courteous front desk person and the room was very updated and cozy. The decor was very nice and beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was temporarily closed but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The manager Sunny is super friendly and talked to me very nicely and even offered an upgrade as I was a returning customer. There are plenty of hotels nearby but the friendliness of the staff and the way they recognize and appreciate their guests, it is really amazing and makes the experience even better. I would definitely come back in the fall to watch the falling leaves in the endless mountains. Sunny, you rock !!!!! I wish there were more managers like you who will go above and beyond to provide good customer service !!! You have won my business and I stopped going to the nearby " full service " Shadowbrook as there is nothing like full service and being managed by a management company, it seemed that every customer is just a number for them. Although it is labeled as a resort, personally i have enjoyed my stay at Prince much better then the other place. And you have preserved and maintained such a historic structure that dates back at least 100 years. It brings such a unique and historic feeling staying in the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to everyone coming in for leisure or business. Management goes out of their way to take care of their customer and makes them comfortable. 5 STARS ***** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the most friendly/loving staff I've ever encountered in the motel industry. Jordan is a great manager. Getting out of the motel at peak traffic hours can be challenging but that's what brakes are for.
