The Prime Rib - Restaurant in Spencer - 1205 S Grand Ave, USA

I used to come here and my meal was top notch. This visit was not a good visit to brag about. Service was great. The gal that helped us did everything to make us feel welcomed and brought are order in a respectable time. Now the part that didn't set well. My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich and it was over 50% fat. Now I realize that prime rib needs fat to give it taste but 50% or more. Not much meat that's for sure. I decided to order a hamburger. Times have changed and I realize that the restaurants margins have gotten tighter but paying extra for your toppings. I could understand bacon as an example but pickles, onions. REALLY. Anyway I give it the way things went down. They were busy and we were set down pretty quick. Just not a very good visit this time.

I have ate her numerous times it has been awesome. This time steak was the worse steak I have ever had and the waitress acted like oh well said I ask you if it was cooked correct I said It was but I need a chainsaw to cut it. She said she will tell the cook and I also the bread was cold and hard she said ok. Horrible service. Brought me my check. Last time I will ever eat here. Nice response from owner. Talking to the waitress and telling them it was not good is apparently was not what I was suppose to do.Normally when you tell the waitress the food is horrible she tells the management.

I really like the food here we had a excellent waitress... Very nice and peaceful restaurant... I feel it was cozy and love the decorated Christmas trees... The prices are not bad...

Omg! The fillet was sooooo good!

This was my second visit to the restaurant. The first was last year and it was excellent. This year was a different story. Our reservation was at 6:30. When we got there the hostess had no idea. We were seated in the lounge. Noisy and not the ideal place for having a guiet family dinner. 6 people and 2 ordered the prime rib. The prime rib was not cooked to order and tough. The appetizers were fine. The sandwiches were good. The salad bar seemed weak. The cost of doing business now is ridiculous and finding help is sparse. But if your calling yourself The Prime Rib the prime rib should be outstanding. $180 dollars later I'm not sure I'll be back.

Would've been more stars but the chicken breast had hard burnt like crust on the underside. Spouse had a good prime rib, however, still claiming Longhorn has the best. Lastly, someone named Mark who rang us up and out was not friendly or thankful for our business. Not right when you pay $73 for chicken breast and a slice of prime rib. Waitress was very nice.

A wonderful antidote to a long day's drive. The folks at The Prime Rib make you feel at home. It was cold this visit and we had to change tables to get my mother away from the window chill. They were fine with us switching. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. We loved the little loaf of bread and honey butter that came with our meal. We each ordered a half-order of Chicken Ocean, chicken breast on a buttered, grilled English muffin, topped with crab, hollandaise sauce and a couple of asparagus spears. The side of sautéed seasonal veges in butter and garlic was full of color and flavor. Side #2, chicken chili, was more of a soup and nice and hot for a cold night. We enjoyed generous pours of Kim Crawford Pinot Grigio. The ambiance is relaxing with warm, subdued lighting. Full bar and a great looking salad bar. Seating allows for privacy and conversation. The restaurant was decorated for fall. .Clientelle included families, senior citizens and working guys staying in nearby hotels. Casual attire is fine, but you wouldn't look out of place if you dressed up, either. For beef lovers, they only serve top of the line certified Iowa Angus. Put the tallest in your crowd on the couch part of the table as the couches are lower than the chairs.

The food was really good, prime rib was on point. But the service so extremely slow. The place wasn’t full and I kept seeing the wait staff, hostess and bartender standing around an empty bar talking. Just BSing, took a good bit for someone to even pour water at the table after I sat down.
