The Pink Elephant Tavern - Bar in Salem - 115 Lancaster Dr SE, USA

The food was awesome. The pizza dough was good but not fully cooked it was soft and spongey. The service was great, both gentlemen were really nice and super friendly. Only issue I had with the service was we were talked out of ordering the super nachos because my fat self wanted them all to myself, and one of the men behind the bar decided that it wasn't a "good idea" or "doable" because the rest of my party was ordering food as well. The atmosphere was okay. I know that with it being a bar, it's going to be loud, but it's hard to have a mellow or calm time when the music is blaring and people have to yell in order for anyone to hear them add alcohol to that, then boom, 10x louder than it actually needs to be.

Go to joint for good conversation, food and drink. Emily and Kasi are the best. Mornings and early afternoons are when I visit, do not know anything about the night life. Even thought they are remodeling they are open. Drop by sometime.

Not a local, just made a pit stop. Seems to me that talented pool players won’t be far away. All four tables appear to be brand new. Plenty of house sticks that are in good condition to choose from, in all weights. It appears to be regular tournaments as well as league here. Beautiful heated out door smoking area. The inside of the bar is very clean and well kept. Don’t let it’s exterior or entertaining name fool you. Very impressed the staffs doing a great job, keep up the good work.

10:15am...came in for breakfast and a bloody mary. 10:58am finally took our food order....11:17 still waiting. One guy came in after we ordered and they got his breakfast out to him already. VERY clear that you have to be a regular or school buddy to get good service. 11:20...still waiting. Only four people in the whole place, three people "working" and yet they are visibly, just now building my burrito. Payed for the bloody marys ...not breakfast, and left. Bloody mary was wischishire with a touch of v8...yuck. Not recommended...won't be going back.

Never a bad time and good pool tables. Food is also phenomenal and good portions.

Bartender was disrespectful from the start and sarcastically said “thank you for the dollar” when I over tipped her. The regulars were cool. Shot some nice games with Josh and Ulysses. Bartender acted like she was doing me a favor. Every other tavern on lancaster pours better except the tiki. Hint-for the Monday night bartender, treat strangers kindly. You don’t automatically get tipped for doing nothing but making a newcomer feel unwelcomed.

The place was busy but everyone was smiling and the bartenders were all busy helping guests. I was taken care of quickly by one of them. My drink was on point.
