The Pines Country Inn - Featured Reviews (244)
This was a somewhat atypical hotel setup with rooms arrayed around and slightly elevated from the parking area. Our room was small but nicely decorated with a personal touch. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast was simple with no cooked dishes but there was a good assortment of things to eat. The breakfast room was essentially nonexistent but it was easy enough to get your food and carry it back to the room or eat at one of the outdoor areas on the property. The staff we dealt with were all helpful and friendly. My only criticism is that check-in was at 4:00 and checkout was at 10:00 as opposed to the more usual 3:00 and 11:00 times at most hotels. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay.
Very pleasant and well kept Mom and Pop type motel, but a nice change from the chain hotels. Very clean and reasonably priced. Nice "Porch" with covered seating, gas grill if needed, fire pit with supplied wood, corn hole game. Very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
I felt bamboozled by the 5 "STAR" rating on this property. I am retired and travel frequently, and this is the first time I felt a Tripadvisor rating was way off. The night before staying at The Pines, I stayed in a motel in Bowman, ND that enjoyed a 4.5 "star"rating. The room was recently completely renovated - furniture, fixtures, HVAC, etc. The rating was perfect. The night after staying at The Pines, I stayed in a motel in Golden, Colorado, that had a 3 "star" rating. It was a spacious suite with a king bed and everything worked and the rating was fair. In my opinion, there is now way The Pines should have 5 "stars." The carpet was fairly new, but that is the end of the good stuff. Very small room with an old window AC and a heat system that has to be turned on by the owner if desired. Outdated wiring with no ground plug. Three or four power strips to handle appliance needs of the room. My wife commented that the furnishings and decorations looked like they came from thrift shops. I would have taken a shower, but the curtain was 3" off the bottom of the stall. Very nice and courteous staff showed us to the room.
Nice, clean, basic motor hotel. I was looking for a budget-friendly and clean place to sleep as I was passing through Newcastle and that’s what I got. The owners are super-focused on customer service and will do anything they can to make your stay happy. The only complaints are that the room was tiny, and the shower really needs work. But based on the price it was a good value.
We showed up late after walking out of the filthy Motel 8 down the road. Super 8could not get us checked in properly and charge roughly 20% more that quoted by rude person standing at the front desk. THE PINES WAS VERY EASY AND FRIENDLY TO CHECK IN after the terrible experience at Super 8.. AFTER A GREAT NIGHT SLEEP WE SAT OUTSIDE FOR MORNING COFFEE AND ENJOYED MOMMA DEER AND HER BABIES EAT AND THE BED DOWN NEAR BY. THE PINES , WHAT A GREAT SLEEP AND A GREAT WAKE UP. THANKS.
This is a cute and comfortable place but the owner still has management issues to work out. Our group of 10 bicyclists made reservations for 5 rooms by calling the hotel directly months ago, but the manager "forgot" to show the inventory as booked and then online bookings double booked the rooms. Luckily we were able to get rooms, just not the ones we had booked. Other guests who arrived later were turned away. Tough learning experience for the owner and probably he won't make that mistake twice, but one should call to double verify your reservation. (He also said he would give discount on the rooms we were given but then didn't. )
This little Inn is off the beaten path of town and quiet and cute. The room was clean and decorated with beautiful quilts and matching decor. A deer was guardian of the driveway, and we woke up to some turkeys enjoying breakfast in the yard.
If you like a place off the beaten path that provides a more rustic feel, this is the place for you. I loved the woodsy pine scent, firepit and outdoor seating provided. A decent restaurant was close by and deer could be seen on the premises. Owner, Arush suggested we visit Needles Highway and it was magnificent.
Great place to eat! Fantastic atmosphere and a great staff. Fresh eggs. Sourdough toast. Hash browns. Biscuits and gravy. Two egg veggie omelet. Really big mugs of good coffee. If you're in, or around, Newcastle, WY, stop in. Absolutely recommend.
Love this burger joint. There's another one in Bowman, ND. Good burgers and a decent beer selection. Can't go wrong. The only complaint is that they didn't have the things needed to make a Philly. Waited for 10 minutes before they let me know. The p
