The Peppermill Grill - Breakfast restaurant in Rockford - 8 S Squires St Square, USA

Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast items were lacking. I ordered an omelette with “sautéed” mushrooms, the mushrooms looked like they were straight out of the can and not at all cooked. The kids medallion pancakes were pretty sad, serving size was the tiniest I had ever seen. Nothing special, I would not go back. I’m sure others enjoy this place, but it’s not my style.

Stopped in for breakfast with my kid, only one server working, though I think another one did come in towards the end of our meal. Megan had 11 tables and still managed to keep up with every single one like it was nothing. The food was amazing and came out quickly. New favorite breakfast spot.

The Peppermill Grill is tired. It badly needs a face-lift. It's very noisy and could use some ceiling tiles that deaden sound. The place was packed when I was there. People standing in line waiting for a table. I found that interesting since the food is mediocre. There's nothing special about it. It's not great... it's not terrible. However, our server was excellent. She was funny and took great care of us. I'm not a fan and only go there when friends invite me out to breakfast. They're only open for breakfast and lunch.

Stopped by on our way back north from GR, looking for great food, hometown feel and not a chain restaurant. The service was phenomenal and food was on point. The Irishman omelette was exceptional!!

Great little place to grab Saturday breakfast. I will say get there before 9, I was there about 8:30 and it started to get pretty popular after that. Food was great, a lot of options. Service was friendly and fast.

Sunday Afternoon, they were very busy. The staff were all super friendly, prompt and attentive. We received our food in around 10 minutes. I had the eggs Benedict and it was very good.

I gave 4 stars 4 years ago. My recent visit was lackluster. The food and staff were great. The cleanliness of the restrooms is definitely in question. The windows all around the dining area were dirty. It is the type of dirty that creeps up from slow accumulation, which is not necessarily the fault of the staff. Management/owner needs to step up! I hope the kitchen isn't suffering from the same inattention.

Nice server, but the meal wasn’t great. We had a long wait due to lack of staff, had 2 high chairs for our toddler & baby, both high chairs were unusable for our family (1 had broken straps and 1 had the straps cut out) which is unsafe for kids that try to climb out of high chairs. We asked for other high chairs and they had 1 other but it was in use by another kid. Our meal took 45 minutes to get to our table and it just wasn’t great because both my husband and I had to each eat while holding a kid (something we don’t enjoy and avoid at all costs). I was tempted to leave while waiting for our food, but we waited it out and weren’t too impressed. The staff here was very nice.
