I’ve generally had a great experience living here. I did have some issues with a leak in my apartment and my washing machine needing to be replaced, but the maintenance team was able to fix both. It was frustrating to be without power/Wifi while they were fixing the water leak but I was able to manage. I live in the 4th floor and never hear my neighbors or the people below me. My view from my apartment itself is the back of a building that is pretty run down/ has trash. I don't love my personal view but the surrounding area is great walking distance to local spots. The rooftop lounge, gym and pool area are great. The parking garage has been the biggest problem for me. The spots seem extremely small/narrow (my car doors have dings on them since I moved in due to people banging their doors into cars) and they now do priority parking for all close spots to doors. I rarely can find a spot on my floor and need to park up 1-2 floors and there aren’t elevators to take you down. It seems to always happen when I have a ton of things to carry! I customized my apartment with a charcoal accent wall in the kitchen and it feels like my home! I highly suggest painting accent walls when moving in. I feel like the look/feel of the apartment and complex fits my personality well and was an easy adjustment.
I'm extremely impressed with my experience living at the Penrose so far. I've been here about 2 months, and have had only great experiences. The building is always very clean, the maintenance staff is super friendly, and has responded immediately to the 1 request I have had. The leasing agents are super friendly, and are always a smiling face if you see them in the lobby or building. Gabby was my leasing agent, and was very helpful, and patient with me esp moving from out of state. She made the entire experience seamless, and was great to work with.
I moved into Penrose in late September. Rachel assisted me with my move-in and she was FANTASTIC. She is extremely patient and very helpful. I needed an additional storage room and she was quick to find me one that suited my needs. She (and the rest of the leasing staff) is always welcoming when I see her in the lobby. She greets me with a smile and asks how I'm doing. I moved here from out of state to be closer to my sons and don't know many people. She has really made me feel at home!
I've lived in Penrose since June 2020 and have enjoyed my experience overall. The building is a great location in the heart of South End, amenities are nice and any maintenance requests are always completed promptly. I have also made a lot of friends in the building so it really feels like a community. My favorite leasing agent is Rachel! She is an absolute pleasure to work with and always makes an effort to greet me in the lobby - she is especially kind to my dog, which I really appreciate. Rachel is the best!
The leasing office staff is great, and Gabriele is very helpful, friendly and professional, she actually did the tour to us, showed us everything about the building and answered all our questions. The maintenance team is also great, they will help you as soon as possible with any maintenance request. Overall we have had a very good experience living at Penrose, beautiful amenities and a really nice community. Is a perfect location because is walking distance to all our favorite breweries, bars and restaurants. We feel very safe living in this building compared to our previous building in uptown that was extremely sketchy (SkyHouse) The only thing that we dislike some is the noise from the outside, specially because we are in the first floor facing the street, also wishing there were more guest parking spots, but we love Penrose!!
Cannot recommend a Charlotte apartment more! I am so sad to move out & am only doing so to move into a three bedroom apartment- but would give anything to stay here! The location is unbeatable, the amenities make you feel like you are living in a resort, and the staff is absolutely phenomenal. Every leasing agent/staff member greets you with kindness, and always a willingness to help. I could not possibly have better things to say about this place!
I was recently in the market to relocate to the Southend area. I had considered multiple apartment buildings until I had the opportunity to tour the Penrose with Rachel. She was beyond insightful in terms of amenities, location, culture/community, etc -I was immediately sold. Everyone is extremely friendly (residents and staff). The monthly activities are fun as well (it helps you get to know your neighbors). If you are looking for an upscale apartment complex, with helpful staff and quality people, then The Penrose is the perfect home for you.
My husband and I really enjoy living at the Penrose. All of the staff is great and we love our leasing agent, Gaby. She’s so friendly and helpful with all of our needs. The maintenance team is so prompt with fixing any issues that come up. Overall really happy living here!
