The Patriots' Boutique Motel - Motel in San Clemente - 711 S El Camino Real, USA

We decided to stay another night in San Clemente because we just weren’t ready to leave yet! Our other hotel was fully booked so we got a last minute room here. Jenny that checked us in was wonderfully warm and friendly, right on par with the SC vibe that we love. But you get what you pay for! The room was definitely not clean. Floors were filthy and dead flies. The bed was comfortable enough and we got a decent night’s sleep. Parking is a problem as there is only 12 spots for 15 rooms. The only real perk is that it’s walkable to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our last night watching the sunset by the pier. Can’t wait to come back to SC, but we definitely wouldn’t stay here again unless there was no other option.

This is a cute little motel that is very comfortable, spacious and friendly. We enjoyed our stay here. The location is central, so that you are close to the shops on Del Mar and, of course the pier with its magnificent views. A visit to Casa Romantica is a must, as well as a romantic dinner at the Vine restaurant which is a few blocks away from Patriot's. We'll be back!

4th time back to the property with my wife, we booked the suite this time and got our own private patio area with BBQ, fire pit and umbrella. Great spot. The unit had a kitchenette and was clean and spacious. Surf competition was going on so hotel was booked with surfers which gave us ultimate california vibe. Great spot

We enjoyed our stay. Clean, super friendly, great location to walk to the main shopping & restaurant district (as well as the pier if you're a walker.) Comfy bed, nice bedding. Can be a bit noisy from traffic and neighbors, but nothing a good pair of ear plugs won't solve. The bagel place next door has delicious food and great coffee. Antiones down the street is a great local breakfast spot.

What a beautiful location and wonderful staff. I’ve stayed here probably five different times. Kate and Jenn are always extremely helpful and professional. The rooms and surrounding area are always very clean. The motel is located pretty close to all of the attractions San Clemente has to offer.

We really enjoyed our stay here! There were quite a few bugs in the bathroom but that is our only complaint. We requested some extra towels and they got those to us right away and we appreciated that! The location was great and we didn’t have any problems with parking in their lot. We would definitely stay again!

Unsafe. There was no locking door. They had a sliding glass door which could not be locked from the inside. They had a curtain tension rod that was supposed to keep someone from opening the door. The window could not be closed all the way and locked, because they vented the ac unit through the window. Unsafe. The woman at the front desk refused to refund our money. She angrily criticized us (mother and daughter) when we told her we didn't feel safe in a room that couldn't be locked. We paid extra for this room. It was advertised as a private suite, however, it was right on the road and could not be locked. Ridiculous. Beware. They remove all negative reviews.

We’ve stayed at many hotels in San Clemente, ca visiting family. Patriot motel is truly a sweet boutique hotel. Clean, comfy, decorated cozy and Kate is awesome! We plan on staying here every time we go to visit family. Close to great restaurants and shopping. Bagel Shake is an awesome coffee and breakfast spot right next door. The Vine and Parlor are both incredible dinner spots. Definitely stay at the Patriot.
