If only I could rate it zero stars. When travelling, I typically look for boutique hotels or inns, and this one looked quite charming. I booked one night for a stopover while on a recent road trip (I used a major third party booking service) only to find that it was empty, windows papered over, and not in operation at all. In fact, I was told it had been condemned in 2023. How it's still listed here, and on the other booking sites. is beyond me, but I'm now disputing my credit card charge.

We arrived at the Parker Inn and Suites on a deserted street in downtown Schenectady at 10:15 pm to find the front door locked. I could decipher a phone number shown on the front desk for after-hour services. I called that||number and the attendant said he would be down in a few minutes. He gave me the code for the keypad which I entered and heard the click opening, but then it was still locked. I waited outside ‘til he appeared in shorts and a tee-shirt. I asked about parking there on the street which he said you could do until 8am. Being from California that was sorta early. When I asked about free parking he provided me with some convoluted directions. I asked if he could maybe show me and he said I should try it and call if it didn’t work. I tried it and it didn’t work. He came around, we parked and he lead us to a locked building, entering with the same keycode, through a 1930’s arcade to another door. We went in to the front desk and registered. He didn’t have a king bed as we had booked, only queens. He said he was there on-duty twelve hours and on-call the other twelve hours. Checkout time was 11am and he would be there. He gave us keycards to our room, but they didn’t work, so he had to be called and come up with a keycard that worked.||||Next morning when we went to check out at 10:30 the front desk was unattended. So I called to tell him we were checking out, my friend refused to come again at any later date and I wanted a refund for the next Sunday, giving him my e-mail address and asking for a return message.||||I have not heard back, so I plan to dispute the charge on my credit card. The hotel was definitely misrepresented. In my opinion, perhaps it could settle as a flophouse but nothing above a 2 star accommodation.

The was a nightmare experience. On the evening before my stay I was informed they had no air conditioning. It was 90 degrees. I couldn't find another location at that late date because it was Jazz Fest weekend. It was sleep there with the windows open, noise, traffic, yelling etc. or sleep in my car. The next morning I RAN from the place as fast as I could get away. After all that, it took a month to get a refund for the night I didn't stay and no discount or credit for the miserable, uncomfortable experience it was. Live and learn. One star because it didn't let me put 0.

I booked with them online. When I arrived to the hotel the doors were locked and the hotel could not be entered. There was no one at the front desk and no one to answer the phone. I was met with 3 other groups of people in the same situation. We found out that the hotel had no air conditioning. I and the others outside canceled our reservations and found a different hotel next door. We were told by their front desk that it's been like this for months. We ran into people who kept their reservation and they showed us photos of their room and there was holes that liked bite marks in the bedding, the microwave was missing the door, the stove was shattered, the tv was on top of the refrigerator. It looks nothing like the photos online. And the guy at the front desk was rude.

The room was beautiful but the temperature was not. There is not a night attendant at the hotel so it was just very cold the entire night. Very hard to sleep when it feels like you are camping in Antarctica . Hopefully this isn't the lodging choice next time.

First, we were concerned about the number of people sitting on the curb in front of the hotel, then the front door covered in dirt and fingerprints. ||We walked in and there was a sign on the desk that advised us to call the phone number written on it for service, and a young woman standing in the lobby who informed us that the guy working would be down shortly, and she was done with her shift. After about 10 minutes we called the number and left a voice message stating that we were hoping to check in. We never heard back. Them someone came in from the street and said they were working on the addition, and called the number and talked to the guy to notify that there were customers waiting. We waited another 10 minutes or so before he finally came down, looking like he may have just woken up. He didn't tell us anything, just handed us the key, which by the way was in a dirty, old looking envelope. We showed ourselves to what could have been a quaint old elevator but actually seemed to be on its last leg. Found our room after walking through a dirty hallway that was in disrepair, including the large holes in the ceiling. Walked into the room that was also dirty- everything was filthy- the bathroom including mirror, sink, counter- which was as far as we looked, the bedroom floor needed vacuuming, don't even want to consider when the bedding was changed. The view of a roof covered in pigeons and their poop was not the most pleasant view available, no doubt. We felt unsafe there, which says a lot since we live and work in Syracuse which is very crime ridden. Worried about touching anything in the room, worried about our safety if we went to sleep, worried about walking to our car. We left after about 5 minutes. Gross. This place should just close and reopen when they get themselves together.

Travelled from New jersey for business & pleasure. Nice clean rooms with cooking services available and great location friendly staff who are knowledgeable of sites & very close to rivers casino. If you are looking for a hotel located in downtown Schenectady the parker inn & suites hotel well worth the time & money.

The room was booked for 4 nights. The day of the reservation they emailed us to let us know the AC just stopped working but a tech would be out the next day. We needed this place ro stay so we bit the bullet and kept our res. Big mistake. No AC the whole time and come to find out this has been ongoing problem. 86°+ in the room with only one fan to "help" room was dirty, shower was dirty, towels and bedding were clean except the gross extra pillow with no pillowcase. Only a sheet on the bed. Even a drug scale left in the room. How disgraceful! Will not ever be staying here again.
