Hands down, the best seafood spot I've ever tasted. Beware, though, it seems that you can just walk up to the bar and order. You can't. You have to wait in line. which is 1 and a half to 2 hours wait. However, it was worth it. The oysters are the best I've ever tasted. Also, we ordered the gumbo shrimp and chicken and pan roast shrimp and chicken
My favorite I'd the pan roast.
Our first time here - I got the Palace Pan Roast at a 7 - it was absolutely perfect..! I like spicy food so I would probably try an 8 next time.
She ordered the seafood pan roast at a 4 and it was significantly less flavorful - she said she would get a 7 next time and she does not like very spicy food!
Wait time was under an hour on a late Thursday morning before Christmas - but the line moves pretty fast for only 18 seats at the bar.
Highly recommended for a fantastic experience!
Update after a week:
Having explored various oyster bars in the area, I can confidently say this one tops them all. While the oysters were comparable to others, the real standout was the pan roast – a culinary delight. The lobster pan roast, in particular, was a standout dish, featuring a sizable, fresh lobster tail that was cooked to perfection. What truly elevated the dish was the sauce, bearing a striking resemblance to the rich, creamy flavors of my favorite butter masala. This unforgettable fusion of flavors is something that continues to resonate with me long after the meal.
Original review:
I found the raw oysters to be impressively large, plump, and fresh. The Manhattan clam chowder was notable for its flavorful sauce and contained a generous amount of chunks, resulting in a hearty, chewy texture. However, the Mussels Steamer, while decent, was rather average and didn't quite match the quality of the other dishes.
Everytime we visit Las Vegas, we always come here for their tasty gumbo! I want to try their other dishes but I just can't, I love their gumbo! The very last visit, it took some time to get seated but it was so worth the wait (the bar only has 17 seats or so).
We ordered two house gumbos (shrimp, crab, and lobster) and a half dozen gulf oysters. The oysters were fresh and were shucked in front of us. The house gumbo was to die for, so tasty and hasn't disappointed us yet! I was too chicken to go spicy so I stuck with a 1, my hubby went with a 4 and he said that was the right level of heat for him. The gumbos are cooked right in front of you and you can watch all the yummy goodness being added to the soup and roux base. You'll have to try this place for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
Fantastic seafood at a bar with I think only 12-14 seats, we really enjoyed it! Service wonderful and you can watch the cook preper your food in spwcial cattles. Try the bouillabaisse!
But be prepared, that the oyster bar is in the middle of a casino, so walk right through it.
Plus: open 24 hours! We loved it!
If you like oysters and sea food, you need to visit "the Oyster bar" located inside of the Las vegas "palace station" hotel and casino.
This is a small bar that sits around a dozen visitors at one time. Therefore, be prepared to wait in line for a long time before you can be seated. (we waited like 2 1/2 hrs. But it was worth it)
The food was prepared fresh rigth in front of us, also we were treated very kindly.
I ordered a "bouillabaisse" which is like a seafood stew, and believe me, it was delicious, served with steamed rice.
My wife ordered a dozen oysters and a clam chowder, and she had nothing but good things to say. It was definitely very tasty. All the food was prepared with perfection.
I also heard everybody around the bar giving compliments to the chef.
At this time, i would like to give my respects and admiration to chef "Lorenzo" for being so friendly and courteous with the visitors and his excellent and succulent way of cooking. A+.
Always good, always fresh, staff is great. Come here every time I am in Vegas. Get the pan roast, it is amazing.
Be prepared to wait in line, it is well worth it.
The wait was long as heck but it was worth it for the food. The Alaskan Chowder was amazing. The Oysters on a half-shell were bomb. My boyfriend's mom really liked the Jambalaya.
