The Painted Lemon NY - Italian restaurant in Clifton Park - 54 Clifton Country Rd, USA

This place is a nice, quiet place for a mid scale dinner. The food was good but not the best I have had. Generous portions, sharable size salads. There are not a lot of non-chicken meat options. Went again, this time was seated immediately but then waited one hour to order. They only had on waitstaff for the entire area. The specials were not written on paper to review. The waitstaff kept apologizing for one thing after another. My wife eats vegan and asks if her meal was cooked with butter, and waitstaff said yes, but it all cooks off. Staff can not make such false statements when it comes to items that could have serious allergies. There were no good wines to select from. It's not my favorite restaurant. Do not plan to return.

The place is really cute and cozy. Nice music inside the place and amazing people work there. Emiliano is the owner and an amazing person. The food was super good and i’m definitely gonna come back here!!

Excellent food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend the fioccheti pear and gorgonzola. I’m very picky about vodka sauce, so while theirs is tasty I prefer it being made with prosciutto rather than bacon. My mother got the fettuccine alla painted lemon and it was great. Looking forward to going back!

Great new restaurant with an interesting and different menu. The best chicken french in the area by far. Several daily specials. Great presentation. I was very surprised by the grilled Caesar salad. Amazing dressing and the right amount of cheese. Large bar if you need to wait for a table, but grab a reservation on OpenTable. My only complaint would be the bread. It was served before our drink order was taken. It came warm and definitely tasted like it was baked in house. However, after it cools - quickly - it's harder than a crouton.

Great food and great service! We ordered caprese salad for appetizer, Vongole pasta and pappardelle rosa for entree, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. We had to wait for about an hour with nothing on our table, and when we were just about to get upset, the house manager came to us and made it up by offering our bill on the house, explaining what went wrong. (Their computer system went down and it took some time for them to realize the issue) Fortunately, the food was worth the wait. It was one of the best Vongole I had in the upstate NY, and was definitely much better than most of Italian restaurants in Saratoga Springs. Everytime I order Vongole in Italian restaurants in the US, more often than not, I got disappointed with its lack of flavor and the oil sauce being either too dry or watery. But I was so glad to find out that this restaurant knows how to cook traditional Vongole properly! The servers were very friendly too. I would definitely visit here again for the Vongole and other dishes.

Tried this place for the first time, it’s AMAZING the restaurant is very clean and feels comfortable. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The menu consists of a wide range of Mediterranean cuisine and offers gluten free options. Will definitely be coming back!

Had the best experience here tonight!!! Our server Kelly was absolutely amazing!! They have Prosecco on tap, the food is made to order, fresh, and flavorful and the chefs were interactive and accommodating. They allowed us to fully customize a meal that was not on the menu. We will be back!! If you go, be sure to ask for Kelly!! Don’t miss out on this place!

We had a reservation and seated immediately. The air conditioner was on and it was chilly so the hostess was very helpful and turned the air down. The table next to us thanked as and they didn’t want to say anything as they were extremely cold We ordered arugula salad to share and I ordered a lemon drop. Mimi was our server and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Mimi noticed I wasn’t drinking my lemon drop as it didn’t taste right. Mimi was so busy I just figured this is how they make a lemon drop and I’ll never order another here. Upon her asking I told her it tasted like straight lemon cello. She noted the color was off and asked if I’d like them to make another. I told her I’d love to see how it should be made there. Within minutes she had a nice very tasty lemon drop for me. We ordered bolognese and chicken parn. The bolognese was very tasty and a fair portion. The great basil garnish was a great touch. The chicken parm was very good. Sauce was very tasty - very enjoyable. The bread served with the meal was very tasty. They had live music which was a nice touch also. Too full for dessert but the server Mimi was very good and made this an excellent experience. It’s difficult to find good employees so keep her as she will see your clients so happy!! We will be back and hopefully to sit outside! Thank you!
