The Owl's Nest Inn Bed & Breakfast - Featured Reviews (20)
My husband and I recently stayed at this delightful B&B for 3 nights. The room is spacious, with a door to a private patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine while watching hummingbirds or listening to crickets in the evening. The location is wooded and quiet.
The hosts (Leah and Harold) are friendly, helpful and fun. The breakfasts are ample enough to get you through your morning activities or your first couple of tastings at the nearby wineries.
We very much enjoyed our time at this casual and relaxing B&B, and hope to stay here again next time we are in the Willamette Valley.
My now fiancé' and I booked this for our four year dating anniversary for a lovely wine tasting weekend. Harold, Leah and their adorable dog greeted us outside and gave us the full tour including a huge bedroom and bathroom, a hot tub and fire pit right outside the french doors and were incredibly friendly, we shared some wine with them on our first night and went over breakfast options and the following morning were met with such an incredible spread, so many options to choose from(can't recommend the bacon enough!) little did I know my then boyfriend was working with Harold and Leah on a proposal as well, they helped him figure out picturesque wineries, gave us tasting cards and after a wonderful and memorable day happily congratulated us when we returned. If you find yourself in newberg area, enjoy wine, breakfast food and great stories then look no further! thank you both for such an incredible weekend to remember
My husband and I had our elopement wedding at Owls Nest Inn (9/25/18) and it was just wonderful.
Leah Light McKay is the officiant, and her preparation work in the weeks beforehand was excellent. She sent us a ceremony we could edit, incorporating our own written vows and the ring-exchange sections; we could see the flow of the ceremony beforehand and knew it would be natural and lovely. It was.
Harold McKay grew up on the beautiful wine-country land where the inn is located, and he and Leah create a graceful, easy, peaceful atmosphere both on the site where outdoor ceremonies take place and in the room we had for the night.
In the morning on the day after our ceremony, Harold made us an absolutely fantastic breakfast--fluffy scrambled eggs, beer pancakes, bacon, orange juice, coffee. (He and Leah, John, and I had such a great breakfast, laughing and telling stories, that John and I didn't want to leave.)
We sincerely recommend Owls Nest Inn as the place for your wedding
After knowing Leah for years, I finally got the opportunity to come out to The Owl's Nest and stay for a couple nights. This was my first experience with a B&B and it couldn't have been better. It was so relaxing, and it was the reboot I needed. Harold is such a character, and an amazing chef.. breakfast was absolutely delicious. Leah and Harold are both incredibly kind and accommodating. The master suite was more than I expected, complete with a large bathroom that included a 2 person shower, and a connected patio with a private hot tub. There is also a mini fridge, TV with satellite (although this was not something I required as a decision to stay), and wifi. Harold and Leah have an awesome cat named Harley, and she is very much people friendly. Sage is another cat that lives on the property, he would make his way by to say hello but would keep to himself the rest of the time. The property is secluded and quiet, all while just being minutes from town. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, or to those who just want to relax a little.
We had an amazing stay at the Owl’s Nest. Harold and Leah couldn’t have been nicer, the room was wonderful, and the location was perfect for our trip. Harold and Leah even got up super early to prepare breakfast for us to take to the airport for our morning flight home! We highly recommend staying here.
The Owl's Nest B&B is a great place to rest and rejuvenate. My hubby and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery while sitting in the hot tub, which was just outside our bedroom door. Our room was large with a private bathroom, and the bed very comfy. Our hosts, Leah and Harold, were congenial and fun. Harold makes the best breakfasts! Oh, also, we loved sitting by the firepit in the evening as the sun set. Breathtaking!
While searching online for a Bed & Breakfast for a weekend of wine tasting, I came across the Owl's Nest Inn. Wow, what a treat! It was easy to find, tucked away up a country road and close to plenty of wineries. We were greeted right away by the two dogs which was one of many highlights for my dog-loving boyfriend.
Harold was so friendly giving us a tour and then sitting down with us to give recommendations on places for dinner. Since he knew we had planned a weekend of exploring different wineries, he gave us complimentary tasting cards from several local places. Then he went over the breakfast menu with us. Three words: choices, choices, choices! This isn't a pastry & coffee type B&B. It is a full breakfast of his amazing waffles or pancakes with eggs and your choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Coffee, tea and juice too. We invited Harold and Leah to sit with us both mornings and it was so nice getting to know them. Warning, you will leave the table stuffed. It was so good!
Leah and Harold joined us at the fire pit the first night for s'mores and a glass of wine. They are so hospitable and we really enjoyed sharing stories and laughs with them. Leah told us about a winery close by that also had llamas (Rain Dance Vineyards) so that one was first on our list the following day and it did not disappoint.
Our room at the Owl's Nest Inn was huge with a comfy king size bed and a very large bathroom space. We were provided bathrobes for use with the hot tub, which is located right outside the French doors of the room. After a full day of exploring wineries, a soak in the hot tub was perfect.
Thank you for the amazing weekend!
The Owls Nest B&B is a beautiful setting for your special day. Leah officiated our hand fasting neo-celtic wedding. She helped us write and create a romantic and memorable ceremony.
The setting above and looking down into the Chehalem valley is breathtaking. The accommodations are top notch and cozy with our own entrance that opens up to a lovely private patio that has a fire pit and a hot tub.
The hosts are open minded and accommodating, and they are very good at what they do. I would highly recommend the Owls Nest B&B to anyone looking for a romantic and magical destination.
Schedule a private tasting at Bells Up Winery and you won't be disappointed. The Specters provide a unique experience that builds a long-term relationship with wine and with them.
I learned how to describe wine in a new way that made sense to me. Th
What a sweet little shop! Friendly and helpful customer service, without crossing the line into being pushy. Great selection of locally sourced and often hand crafted items. I found perfect Christmas gifts for two people on my list. I will definitely
Best Thai food in town. Incredibly yellow curry with exactly the right amount of spice. And every one of the appetizers is amazing. I wish they were open later! Currently, their dinner service is 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Don't miss it!!!
Top 4 best steaks I've ever had. Delicious onions and steak sauce too. Tempranillo wine was also spectacular and the cheesecake with the caramelized lemon rind, blueberries, and cream fresh was a delight. Thank you chef!
First off all the staff here are super friendly! I recently revisited this place and they are so spacious now. They have outdoor patio seating and two spacious rooms for indoor seating. Their patio area is neat, very nice, and relaxing to be out ther
