awesome! went here twice while in town for the marathon. everything was good and quick. very diner feel. You get to choose if you want 3 pancakes or toast, and you can add fillings / topping to the pancakes instead of having just plain. our table got the skillet / corned beef hash / crepes / eggs + sausage and everything was good.

Surrounded by multimillion dollar houses, condos, high rises and hotels is a little house of a restaurant, Original Pancake House and it’s the BEST! Honestly, we travel all over and this is by far our favorite. Don’t bother trying to find the newest, hippest, bougiest brunch spot. The OG still has it going on. Best omelette I’ve ever had. Ever.

This has always been a solid breakfast place in Gold Coast but recently they food is not as tasteful as before. I always get egg benedict with potato pancakes. The cakes used to be good but recently they are simply nasty. It looks like the cooks take hash browns and turn them into potato pancakes. For the love of god, take some pride in the quality of food you are serving and stop cutting corners. You have unbelievable location with no other pancake houses within 5 block radius. Service was good. The waiting staff do a great job all the way around. If you still planing on eating here, keep in mind that the dinning room area is small and fill out fast. It’s very common to stand in line to get a table. After my last experience with the potato pancakes, I would not recommend wasting your time in line.

If you're used to have breakfast (substantial breakfast, not just coffee and some bread/bagel) before 11 a.m. and you're in or near the magnificent mile in Chicago then this place is for you, reasonable prices, exceptional service and a great variety of dishes to choose from. The amount in every dish is generous and with a decent flavor.

The Original Pancake House in Chicago may surprise you with its name and unassuming exterior. While it may appear to be a reasonably priced or hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, don't be fooled. The prices are just as steep as the restaurant across the street at the Chicago Thompson Hotel. However, the experience of sitting outside is delightful, with beautiful flowers surrounding you. The breakfast served here is good, with generous portion sizes. In fact, the servings are so large that you can easily share them with your companion. Just be aware of the little birds that may try to swoop in and steal a bite from your breakfast, as they tend to fly around the area.

Incontournable quand on veut faire un vrai petit déjeuner Américain ! Les proportions sont énormes et du coup cela explique le prix ! C'était incroyable !

It's a small place but so good. Staff is great and they go above and beyond. The food is amazing. It is our go to spot for breakfast when we stay in Chicago

All type of food was awesome Cheese hush browns was delicious The vegetables on the omelette was so fresh and delicious Definitely coming back again The staff was friendly and polite
