Cute Diner in Placerville. I got The Hangover 1: Biscuits & gravy, eggs, and potatoes. Husband had the Corned Beef Hash and loved it. It was delicious. Our waitress was super friendly. Great atmosphere all around. Definitely deserves a stop.
If I lived closer, I would visit Mel's often!!! Had a plan to stop here for breakfast on our way to Tahoe! What a fabulous idea!!! So delicious, and I look forward to visiting again soon!!!
The food is reasonably priced and the portions are quite generous. It also always tastes good in my experience. The staff is where the place seems to really shine though. I've never had an experience less than good there, and the super friendly cashiers and servers really contribute to that. The atmosphere is nice, there's music constantly playing and plenty of photographs and other decorations on the walls and the place feels generally uplifting to spend time in. It's my go-to place to eat.
Always friendly staff. Very attentive and remembers us when we come back. Food is generally great, but the last couple of times, it was either greasy or overcooked. Great location!
Fantastic staff. Hostess Tahlia and our server Sarah were very hospitable. Food was well made and portions were very satisfying. Restroom was clean without any problems. Dinning area was very clean and sanitary. Very low noise so we could talk at a normal conversation level. I would recommend trying the Deuce Coupe burger.
My friend ordered this delicious Mel's mushroom burger meal...very tasty, I found it a little dry as a burger ensemble. Tasty though.
Great friendly service. Ordered our food and ... bam... it was there. Tasted great! Steak and eggs and I ordered country skillet with Mel's potatoes and biscuits and gravy. Totally worth it! Love the pictures of American Graffiti and 50s nostalgia!
Went here on Friday then again on Sunday. Servers are super friendly and on top of their game. Very clean establishment not over cluttered. Food is very good including the milk shakes definitely try the chocolate one. Food came quick too. When in the area definitely stop by Mel’s

I stayed in the Stone Pine room. Beautiful and lush garden surroundings complete with pond and rowboat! Every detail of the rooms was tended to, from the high thread count sheets to the 1-push button lighting/gas fireplace setup. The private soaking
Really neat exhibits and the docent basically gave me a personal tour. Really cool. I learned some things I had never heard before and also connected the dots from related areas (like Virginia City!). I would go back (and bring friends who also enjoy
The spam and kimchi sandwich was of the best sandwiches Iâve ever had! The menu is extremely creative and the flavour combinations worked so well. It was a really hefty sandwich packed with ingredients, and seemed to be put together with a lot of c
This is an awesome quaint little place with a neat little outdoor courtyard. I've always loved their locations in Sacramento and this one is just as good. They really do espresso drinks right. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Love how they
Have to give them a 5-star rating just for being open on a Sunday afternoon in late January. But besides that it had a great selection of items to see, plus they were making great brisket sandwiches, that were excellent. Glad that we stopped by and
In-N-Out is always a must visit fast food restaurant when visit California. This location had great service and clean dinning area. Highly recommended!
Quaint, comfortable, definitely worth the visit. Scones and latte were good. The rosemary lemon scone was a little heavy on the rosemary. Will I go back, ABSOLUTELY! Take a walk around the old town while you're here.
