Staying at The Orchid was the highlight of my trip to Mississippi! Katrice and her husband provided exceptional hospitality. She greeted us when we arrived and gave a tour of the property. The rooms were BEAUTIFUL, quiet, spacious, and well air-conditioned. Breakfast in the morning was prompt and absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!
My husband and I spent a couple nights at the Orchid in late winter and we highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Jackson! The rooms are lovely and the architecture of the home is stunning. The new owners are wonderful hosts! And the biscuits and jams are wonderful. We enjoyed walking around the downtown area, especially to a nearby coffee shop. We will be back- hopefully soon.
This bed and breakfast is a gem!! The architecture is breathtaking: high ceilings, stained glass, large pillars, beautiful artwork throughout. Jason, the host, is a dear. We came in late at night and he was very gracious and kind. The rooms are incredibly comfortable: the shower was great, the A/C works beautifully, the sheets and beds very comfortable, everything impeccably clean. And the BREAKFAST is out of this world- delicious & in a luxurious dining room !! I will consider going back to Jackson just to stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. Thank you Jason and family for your hospitality!!
I LOVED my stay at The Orchid Bed and Breakfast. My room was comfortable and peaceful, just what I needed after a long drive. Julisa (sorry if name is misspelled!) was so welcoming and cooks an insanely delicious breakfast. Katrice made sure my reservation went smoothly so I could fully unplug and relax. The building itself is beautiful and historically significant, a truly fascinating and educational step into the past. Thank you for hosting me, I will return again and again. ☺️
If you are looking for a place to stay in Jackson, you MUST stay here. Jason and Katrice have created an amazing bed and breakfast, reclaiming this beautiful home in a profoundly moving way. The rooms are lovely, with countless little touches that make the stay feel very comfortable and personal. You can feel the love. The food is delicious too. Jason and Katrice were so great to talk to and learn from. We want to plan another trip to Jackson just to stay here again!
As a Chicago restaurant veteran with a passion for hospitality, I highly recommend The Orchid. 🫰 I enjoyed my stay in this charming bed and breakfast marked with history. The owners are so kind and hospitable, focusing on small and local by curating an intimate southern experience. The rooms are airy, boasting stunning floor to ceiling windows, locally sourced bath products, and extremely comfy beds. (I am extremely particular about mattresses, these are perfect.) Hot breakfast is tasty, served with locally made jams! Decor features local artists too. The location is perfectly close to hopping Fondren and Belhaven neighborhoods, with easy access to the highway. The only thing I didn't like was that there weren't more guests!
A friend and I were in Jackson to visit the Eudora Welty House, and they suggested the Orchid B&B! Wow! Housed in a gorgeous historic antebellum house, the B&B was perfect. The room was huge, the en-suite equally big and everything was clean and nicely done. The common rooms were welcoming and restored to the period without being fussy. The owner Jason met us and checked us in. He was friendly and informative about the history of the house and generous with restaurant recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was great, especially the biscuits (made by the owner) and the coffee. I will return and highly recommend The Orchid to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Jackson.
If you are going to Jackson, MS, do not stay anywhere else. This B&B is an absolute gem and will make you feel so special. The outside of the house is show-stopping. Then, take one step inside and you are stunned with the decor. Each piece is curated for the space; it's all eye-candy. We slept so well in the "Brenda" room, with an incredibly comfortable bed on top of a soft carpet. I absolutely recommend you stay here; book right now!
