This is a nice hotel in a central location to lots of tourist destinations. The building is a nice blend of history and modernity. The staff we interacted with were very friendly. They provide valet parking and are up front with how long it takes to get your car, so just be prepared. The valets themselves are friendly and hard-working. The room we had was quite spacious but surprisingly there were no outlets easily accessible from the center bed stand, which was odd. Sometimes you need a regular old plug! Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
My wife had a great weekend stay at The Notary. The hotel is very charming and beautiful. Our room was specious, clean and well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The common areas (lobby, restaurant, elevator...) are all very nice and well decorated. Good breakfast. Can't beat the location
Stayed here for three nights recently and really liked the experience overall. AWESOME location right across the street from City Hall and close to everything cool within walking distance. A great central location if you are looking to walk to the historic parts of the city like the Liberty Bell or other old town areas, check out the Reading Terminal, or to the museum.
Rooms are nice and the decor is also. The gym is sufficient enough and open 24/7 which was a super-plus. There is no continental breakfast; so be prepared to buy your own. Reasonably priced experience for this hotel and all the charm it has to offer.
Staff was nice overall and helpful. They did let us check in very early the day of our arrival; so bonus points for that. Unfortunately we had paid for a king bed and didn't get it; but it wasn't the end of the world. If you are looking for the mini-fridge, it's located inside one of the false drawers underneath tv cabinets; a number of people didn't know this and they didn't tell us at the front desk upon check-in.
I had a WONDERFUL stay here and would recommend to anyone in the area. The place itself is beautiful and historic, and the people working there were incredible. I'd like to especially shout out the woman at the front desk who was very professional, funny, and informative. I wish I could remember her name because she especially should be shouted out as I felt very taken care of and enjoyed a couple drinks at the bar with a very friendly and social bartender as well (my stay was on Sunday, August 4th if someone from the hotel is reading and wanted to give kudos).
Highly recommend The Notary Hotel - great environment and great people!
The rooms are spacious and clean and the theme of The Notary is subtly woven in.
Lots of places in the lobby to relax and convene.
Get the valet parking package or parking is going to make you crazy. They're in a high traffic area in the center of everything.
You're less than a two minute walk to The Reading Terminal Market... bliss.
They offer postcards you can mail to yourself, super cute... but for a building that hails the oldest functioning post office box and a hotel with such a charming offer... they don't sell stamps so if you're busy with things to do that little charmer just turns into another task on the list.
This is an excellent location and the valet parking is better than a lot of nearby locations because there is an actual drive up circle. It’s also a nicer hotel with a cool backstory as part of the City buildings. The check in staff was excellent and the rooms were clean and cold. We had a great 2-queen, corner room that was very spacious. The fitness center was also nice - mostly just treadmills for cardio - which was fine for me. Only opportunity for improvement is that the bathroom tubs could use updating. Depending on your Marriott status, they also have extra daily points bonuses since they do not have a concierge lounge, which was a nice touch.
This hotel is in a great location. It is so close to many restaurants, shops, and attractions. Most things to do are within a 10 - to 20-minute walk, so it is easy to do. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel and you can see luxury touches are all around your the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The service was good, but not what I expected. There is only an option of valet parking which is not cheap, so you may want to consider that. We were awakened at 2am from a fire alarm going off due to humidity, and it was not turned off until after 3am, so that did leave us just hanging around the room, waiting for instructions. But, not the hotels fault.
We were pleasantly surprised with staff here. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Location was very convenient to places we wanted to go. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. A great plus was the heavenly mattress! I slept exceptionally well!
