The North Shore Inn - Motel in Barnegat Light - 806 Central Ave, USA

Great hotel in a fantastic location. It’s quiet and low key. The couple at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The shower pressure was great. I haven’t slept that good in months. I would definitely stay here again!

We saw the positive reviews and decided to book here. Unfortunately, the positive reviews were the only positive thing we saw.||||The room was extremely musty. The bathroom was dated with cracked tile. No maid service even though a two night minimum. If you need clean towels, they tell you they will leave them at the door. Owned by a local couple, women very pleasant and nice, however, the Male is confrontational when asked questions. ||||The bed was dated and more akin to a pull out sofa ( it actually tilted back to the head board). The carpet was sticky and dated. After pulling down the bedding, we noticed hair on the sheets. I had a sleeping bag in my car and we chose to sleep on top of our sleeping back in our clothes. Even though it was a 2 night minimum, we opted not to stay the second night. A shame as we wanted to stay and see the restored lighted house.

We came down to the North Shore in in May while our floors were being redone. We had heard good things from friends who stayed there last year, and we were not disappointed. We had two of the standard first floor rooms and they were spacious, impeccably clean, and pleasant. We had to do some work during the day, and we found the table provided in the room a good place to work. The owner (Chris?), welcomed us and was flexible when we weren't sure how long we were going to stay. I also love this part of the Island, which is a bit quieter and less overrun than the other parts. It's amazing to be so close to the beach. This place is *very* good value for money.

We weren't expecting much when we booked the room here. Upon arriving we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and in good repair. Although the cabinets, refrigerator and other fixtures were old, everything functioned well. The beds were large and comfortable. We only had two problems with the room. The first was the poor choice of tile color in the bathroom. The dirty brown color of the tiles made it look like the floor hadn't been cleaned in years (it was perfectly clean, it just didn't look like it). The other problem was the air conditioning. The wall unit kept the room cool but didn't remove the humidity. For this reason everything in the room, including our clothes, felt damp. Despite these two minor problems, this is the best hotel we've ever used on LBI.

Didnt rent a house this year in BL due to Covid... so we booked a couple nights at the North Shore Inn last minute. I have stayed here before many years ago and loved it, so we decided to book again.||The rooms were impeccably clean! Laundered every blanket after every stay, steam mopped floors, proper disinfecting during these times. ||Plus I do love the old time shory feel of it. Owner Al is extremely nice.||Outside showers to clean off just like at a house, Nice couple of tables on the ground floor. Hung out with my brother and his wife there after beach time every day. ||DO NOT HESITATE. BOOK THIS PLACE.

A family run business that is super clean and real comfortable. Great room with small kitchenet that's perfect. I’m a fan of this hot hot shower. It’s a nice and quiet neighborhood. Here on a business trip but will return with the family. I’m still in room 216 and don’t want to leave haha

At the last minute, our other arrangements fell through and we needed a place to stay for 3 nights over the 4th of July. Ha! Wanted to stay at the north end of the island. Called 3 places and this was the only place that had one room left. We were so happy and glad that they had a room and now that we are home, we definitely would go there again. Our room was a small efficiency - one queen bed, one futon. There was a small fridge, stove, microwave, kitchen ammenities and everything you would need if you wanted to save some money and stay in for a few meals. The motel is an older model but I thought the rooms were tastefully decorated and we have absolutely no complaints. I am usually grossed out by motel bedding but the bedspread was updated and actually pretty! The other guests were quiet and followed the policy of keeping the noise down after hours. Only small issue is that it is close to the firehouse and the siren did go off a few times overnight. Oh well! Very nice to get beach tags too. For the beach, you walk a short walk to the beginning of the beach area and then there is a vehicle that will drive you to the lifeguard area if you would like. Great place for walkers, runners, bikers, etc.

We love staying here :) We try to visit every summer!! 🌞 The North Shore Inn is so convenient to the ocean, the lighthouse, and restaurants on the north side of Long Beach Island. The owners are exceptional and always so nice and happy to help !! We reserved one of the suites on the top floor and it had the perfect kitchenette for our shore stay. We had a microwave, mini fridge, mini stove, and sink. The suite also came with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. 🍽 The accommodations were very clean and tidy and there is an outdoor shower area to wash off before you enter your room.
