The Normandy Inn - Hotel in Carmel-By-The-Sea - between Monte Verde St. and, Ocean Ave, Casanova St, USA

We are so lucky we were able to book and stay here for a quick work trip to NorCal. The location? Perfect. Just at the edge of the downtown area and a quick walk to the beach. They have breakfast in the cutest little cafe. The shower was great the bed was comfy. Everything was just perfect. The property is basically right out of a storybook. If you are visiting Carmel, this is the spot!

I would like to express my disappointment following my recent stay at your Carmel facility. I was initially thrilled about the opportunity, but my expectations were, regrettably, not met. My room, numbered 111, was priced at a substantial $322.00, a cost that did not reflect the quality provided. The room had a persistent damp smell and was carpeted with a dirty, worn-out covering. The bathroom was cramped, and the towels supplied were old and worn. I was also disappointed with the breakfast; the quality was poor and having someone observing me throughout breakfast was quite off-putting. It was shocking to observe that the pricing for such an experience was excessively high. In my opinion, the cost of the room should have been around $150.00. An additional issue was the lack of adequate soundproofing in the ceilings, which allowed disturbances from the rooms above. The inadequate ventilation led to a stuffy room ambiance and the noisy air ventilation did little to help. While I appreciated the clean sheets, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. Based on my extensive travel history and experiences with numerous hotels worldwide, I'm afraid I cannot recommend your facility.

Very nice Inn on the main street of Carmel, 2 blocks away from the beach. Very nice lady on the front desk.|Room was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was really good. The plus was the fireplace! at night it is cold so sleeping with the fireplace was really very nice.|Good amenities.|The only issue was a rare smell that did not liked so we opened windows to air the room.

The location is convenient and the Inn is very pretty in keeping with the other properties in Carmel. It's a short downhill walk to the beach. Easy check in with friendly reception staff. Our room was street level which meant we had to keep shutters closed for privacy, but very clean and comfortable with an enormous bathroom. There is a tiny heated outdoor pool. Breakfast is included, and motel-style with packages of cereal, muffins, etc. There was no parking on the property, once you check in they tell you where free street parking is. Rating average based on price ($400+ per night).

Our favorite place to stay in Carmel!! Location is great….. close to the beach and walkable to most restaurants and shops. The rooms are clean and some have fireplaces. The staff is always helpful …… especially Cecile during our last visit. We will return for sure !!!

Excellent location, pool was heated in middle of October, which was a nice surprise. Staff friendly, nice continental breakfast. Free parking. We stayed in a cottage which was small and dated, beds were comfortable. Second time we have stayed there.

I stayed here for one night on my way to Big Sur. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the desk staff friendly and helpful. It's right in the thick of things for exploring Carmel shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to the beautiful beach. The only downside is that it can be difficult to find parking during busy times (but spaces free up later in the day).

I only reduce the rating due to one thing. The walls are very thin, and every noise form the adjoining rooms can be heard. Even low conversations can be heard, especially at night because it is so quiet there. TV, Talking, Laughing, Etc, Etc can be heard. It's a non-starter for me. Otherwise a great place.
