The waiter we had was absolutely amazing and very kind. She made us a signature drink which was tasticious. Service was impeccable, everything was clean and the atmosphere was boisterous and inviting. The food was well plated and fresh. Come for the food, stay for the waitress kind of place. Exceptional service, that girl deserves a raise, 👩🍳 💋 on the food
Came to Norfolk to work a season at an Inn. This pub is in walking distance and always on par. Service rocks and food never misses. Lindsey was amazing and has become a great source of friendship, as have Cassie, Monique, and Tina. Happy to call them family. I will be sad to leave. They've definitely left an indelible impression on my heart. Can't wait to come back!
This restaurant gave me one of my most incredible birthday dinners and it makes an impressive list that includes exceptional eateries in different states and countries. Really phenomenal food.
I regret as a GM local guide their grill was one of the first reviews I ever posted, (see below under the hashtag) and so like many new reviewers I wrote very few words and little detail. I couldn't even tell you what we ate as I did not take any photos - either because I didn't have my phone/camera with me, or I hadn't thought to do this yet, again, just beginning this undertaking. My partner and I dine out a lot and it may be we'd just eaten in so many places I was picky. Or, maybe the lunch was just okay. Regardless, my opinion today of their dinner service, is it's a place worth driving a distance to or if you're within the area worth frequenting.
Though retro, I still love the idea of disposable table coverings that allow patrons to draw on them with provided crayons. The first time I experienced this was at Café Un Deux Trois in Manhattan in the eighties, so this concept goes back awhile. Love that Wood Creek Bar & Grill still does this, whether it's for kids or adults. Candles lit should always be a part of your experience at any fine dining establishment. Special menu items should be special or favorites.
Back to the dinner. Having a spontaneous day, we did not have reservations and could have been dressed less casually, but we were in formal casual wear, if you will, meaning this is not a place you need to wear a suit or cocktail dress, but perhaps reconsider tube socks and tank tops. They found us a table on the small upper level to the right of the door where we'd had lunch for my original review.
Let's get to the food. The scallop appetizer was unforgettable. It may be the best I've ever had, and for those that read my reviews you know I'm working on a top ten list for this dish. It's hard to do because often the scallop starter is a special, as this was, so for that reason it can't make the list as it's not always available. However, if and when you're at Wood Creek Bar & Grill, and this is on the menu, by all means order them as either an appetizer (two) or dinner (four). Or, get two of each. We realized after each having one, we could have easily had a second. The arancini (fried rice ball) stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto was also perfect.
Our entrées were equally spectacular. One is still a regular menu item, fortunately - the pan seared duck breast. Unbelievable. Moist, depth in flavor with a raspberry demi glace, accompanying mashed potatoes and squash. A special menu fresh haddock with wild rice and the same squash was above par. Light and gratifying. The accompanying salads with dinner were also noteworthy. The bartender did a fine job with our cocktails.

Good service but pricey. Food was okay.
Excellent Reuben. The marbled rye was the best part. Nice stack of quality corned beef. The service was very good and the entire staff were into their gig. Cool bar ambiance and a nice local crowd. Great beer selection also.
Great spot to grab breakfast or a sandwich for lunch. Lots of options and specials. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also a gift shop inside with Norfolk-themed tchotchkes.
Great spot excellent food. The nicest staff... Don't forget desert
I would have given this a more graceful review until the lady at the bar came to bring our food and very rudely called my husband out for sending his drink back because it tasted like water, she decided to argue the vodka has no flavor and left the table feeling super uncomfortable. I'm a bartender myself, tried the drink and it was flat out a bad drink. None of the other drinks other than the espresso martinis were good. I'm not sure if she was trying to make us feel better, but she was totally unprofessional and should have just asked if the drink my husband had now was better, it wasn't, but at that point after seeing how the situation would be handled, no one said a thing after that. Your servers also have no tact, nor do they know how to keep a table running smoothly. Our server was on his phone rather than checking on us and taking timely orders. You're only saving grace was your host who was bringing our drinks for the server?... I would have never even wrote a review, but again, your Bartender was unprofessional and makes, very simple drinks, not well.
Dinner at the Wood Creek Bar and Grill turned out to be an outstanding dining experience. Fine food and warm hospitality make for an outstanding combination on a cold night, especially in a town as beautiful as Norfolk, Connecticut. We made our way through the crowd in the bar area, to be greeted by friendly waitstaff and our hostess/owner Heidi. The food was really wonderful; my girlfriend ordered the salmon, which the chef happily cooked to order, and I ordered the seafood over linguine, which was both delicious and so large we took it home and I enjoyed it for two more nights. We were so full we decided to skip dessert, although we have our eye on the Haystack Mountain Sundae, a local landmark that is visible from the large free parking area downtown. Next time! Consider Wood Creek Bar and Grill highly recommended.

We spent a lovely weekend at the Manor House Inn. Our room was charming with antique furnishings and a view. The bed was comfortable, the bath well stocked and clean. We enjoyed in particular the sun room and the great room with vintage decor. Breakf
Open parking lot no need to grab the ones as you turn in. The coffee and tea is excellent. Open and airy inside with sofa tables soft arm chairs. Breakfast sandwiches, dozens of lunch choices and many sundry items like cards, ceramics, candy etc. Res
