The Noble South - Southern restaurant (US) in Mobile - 203 Dauphin St, USA

Stopped here for dinner as the menu sounded really interesting. We got a good spread and overall it was good. The small plates and appetizers seem to be where they shine. The dinner and the dessert were good but not amazing. We found them to be a little bland but it could have just been an off night. The location is very nice and the atmosphere is adorable. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the deviled eggs ( delicious) , the pickled shrimp (delicious), the blue cheese jam sourdough (good the blue cheese was a little strong to me but the bread was excellent), the hot honey fried game bird ( excellent), shrimp and grits (good a little bland) , the swordfish schnitzel (good a little bland as well and heavy), apple cobbler ( good) and the banana pudding (ok we didn't like it very much but it wasn't bad). Overall a cool place to stop and we really liked the atmosphere, apps and small plates.

My first time at The Noble South for lunch did not disappoint! Loved their Deviled eggs, fried okra, pan fried corn & meatloaf! Corn bread was okay at best but we’ll be back.

Several friends recommended this spot to me saying it was probably the best Mobile has to offer. After trying a few of the other locations downtown I have to agree. The plating is fantastic - actually up to date and well done. Fresh ingredients and seasonally prepared. Drinks are creative and modern as well. I had the scallops which were great! Just the perfect hint of curry sauce and the corn was a great touch. The I ordered my wagyu (American) steak rare and it came out on point. Very tender and presented perfectly with a few grilled simmer squashes. The dessert was decadent and a real treat. I dinged the service one star and atmosphere two because my reservation was not honored at a table, I was placed at the bar. I didn’t make a fuss until after the meal, and the extremely good manager Elizabeth apologized so I wasn’t too upset. Easy to fix for their open table reservations - either put a note saying solo travelers will be at the bar or honor the table reservation. Just my two cents.

Everything was excellent today for lunch at the Noble South. The fried catfish was delicately delicious with excellent sauce.

We received excellent service even though we didn't have reservations, and it seemed like most people also didn't. However, we were seated in a neighboring area and had to walk out to use the restrooms. On the bright side, the food was incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. Additionally, the prices for the food were just right.

The service was excellent. The atmosphere, and the lighting inside is exceptional. And every bite of the meal was perfection! I had the arugula salad and my son had the catfish. A job well done all the way from the sweet tea to the bowl of water for our pop and the excellent food and service. Thank you so much I highly recommend.

Somehow this place manages to hit excellent marks in everything: world-class food, proper portion sizes, and reasonable prices for the amazing quality. The place is on the higher end of a-la-carte food, but the quality is simply amazing. Their pork belly was the most flavorful I've had in years, and every plate, despite being different in nature and flavors, is top notch in its own right. Even if just going for a drink, they've got a great selection, and at downtown Mobile prices, which makes it worth it as a small plates and cocktails joint. And service is fantastic. Absolutely amazing place all around.

Really wanted to try this place after hearing the amazing reviews so my party and I walked a couple blocks down to the restaurant for lunch. I will admit we were a pretty large party but we didn’t even get to walk through the door before we were met outside and told they wouldn’t seat us. Although there seemed to be at least 3 empty tables outside. One of the women running food past us was also speaking under her breath something that didn’t seem very kind, and we had to ask her twice if there were any other local places they recommended we try since they would not seat us. Again, I understand we were a large party but we were willing to wait and we were willing to sit at different tables and to all be put onto one check.
