Overall I would say the visit was worth the.l price, but evidently I went on a day when there was a medical student symposium which just made the rather small museum all the more crowded. For me the skull collection display was the most interesting part, but everything was rather fascinating. My only real complaint is some of the text in the exhibits is quite small, and some of the exhibits have blown bulbs or something because they are rather dark and hard to see what is displayed.

Been a while..since I made my grand tour...Philadelphia is like a old school of different classical ways..not easy to branch off.. as a student..age makes no difference..just what and how..is all of these scientific and cultural experiences translated, in simple ideas of why ..botanical garden..ideas of flowers and plants..and human need of finding one's self..beginnings of creative education..that helps our fellow man...quiet exploration of nature's divine gifts...walk with me today..universe is so everlasting our classrooms..

A really unique museum exhibit located in one of Philadelphias oldest buildings! The building alone is worth seeing- simply majestic. This medical museum may be in the smaller side but it’s JAM packed with lots to see, read & check out! Full of skeletons, skulls, medical oddities, fetus’s, jars of organs, and lots to learn for the curious! Tips: - pre order your tickets!! They are $20. - there are two paid parking lots right behind/near the building which is nice for downtown Philly! - don’t bring any big bags- it’s tight in the exhibit! They do offer coat check for free and 25 cent lockers! - check out the fun medical themed gift shop! Trigger warning: - just wanted to note that some of the fetus exhibit area may be triggering for folks. It can be hard to digest but remember this is a science museum to teach people things. Just wanted to note that this might be hard for some folks to see fully REAL fetus’s, infants, fetus skeletons etc on display Please remember to be respectful and NOT TAKE PHOTOS in the exhibit as these are real human remains donated to the passion of science- not to be taken photos of from tourists. They do keep an eye on folks and WILL say something if they see you snapping photos. They allow photos in the lobby which had the iron lung and some medical items that don’t have human remains.

I was so impressed not only with the collection of specimens and the explainations to accompany them, but the beautiful architechture of the upstairs portion of the museum. Would definitely reccommend if you want to get out and do something different!

Amazing place, so much history so much to see! If you are into medical or science in general this place is a must visit! Cant miss the Einsten’s section or the skulls

Didn't find it educational. Museum is too small and it feel more like a curiosity museum than a medical one. Lighting and signage is terrible. Some have instructions to dial a number to hear instructions. It definitely needs an update and the museum store had tasteless items for sale, geared more to kids with Ripleys vibe. There is no photography allowed to protect the persons who donated specimens but most of the visible displays were wax or paper models.

We did not buy tickets prior, but we were able to buy admission there with no wait. We came on a Monday morning. It is well worth the visit! It felt like such an honor to be able to learn from these people about their conditions and to be able to learn about the persons themselves. The museum does a wonderful job in respecting the people who have contributed to their exhibits. I was worried it would feel exploitative, and I would regret coming, but it did not feel that way at all. If I am ever in Philadelphia again, I will visit the Mutter Museum again.

It was a stunning Museum, we went on a Saturday and there was no wait to get in, ticket check in was quick and easy. The specimen room was tiny and so crowded it felt almost like we were cattle being herded throughout the tiny museum. It was a good blend of actual anatomical specimens but also a large amount of paper-mache and wax recreations. I felt like the descriptions of the specimens could have been more detailed rather than "intestine with typhoid". No pictures allowed in the specimen room. Overall it was a good experience, the only downside was one of the workers kept following me and my husband throughout the museums specimen room. We did not take out our phones once as to respect the rules while in there, yet this employee was on us like a hawk making it a bit uncomfortable
