The Murrays Apartments - Student housing center in Murray - 1421 N 16th St, USA

Good luck with any maintenance request. Upon moving in my room key didn't work, so I went to the main desk to let them know; after over 16 weeks and several maintenance requests I still don't have a key... That wasn't all though. We spent the first 4 weeks after moving in waiting for our dryer to be fixed. I was patient because I knew there maintenance was overloaded, but it turns out it was worse than I thought. Between BOTH CEV North and South there is only ONE maintenance guy! Hire some more people, and treat them right so they stay! My experience has been terrible for emergency maintenance as well. I had water coming in from my ceiling on a Saturday. The main office is closed on the weekends, but I figured someone would answer the Emergency Service line, but no. I tried calling several times and putting in maintenance requests online (which for some reason kept failing). It's recommended for emergency situations to call 911, but that seems excessive for something like a leak. A few other things I don't like is that the pool isn't open, and apparently hasn't been for over 3 years. I also dislike the mail-room for packages; they just stuff it in a room organized by last name. It's not terrible, but no one watches it so anyone could grab your packages (which has happened). Over all the apartments are actually somewhat nice; it's very spacious and is fully furnished. However, due to management issues and poor maintenance I highly recommend steering clear of here.

It has been very good for the price. Love that it is affordable for college students and already furnished. Only issue is the wall and ceiling is very thin so you can hear everything and the people walking above is very loud. Maintenance could also be improved by looking completely at the situation instead of providing a quick fix that does not last long.

These apartments have become horrible to live in, so many broken appliances and problems! Maintenance orders have been put in over a month ago and we still have no working washing machine and a toilet leaking all over the floor. The day we moved in there was another person moving in and their apartment was soaking wet and full of mold. Also the amenities they list on their site are not even all available so make sure you do your research if you are even of thinking moving here. The pool is always green and the gate locked. There is also no office located at CEV South so therefore no one on the property to ever help nor can you pick up any mail/packages unless you drive. The phones also go unanswered which makes it very hard to get in touch with someone. Overall I do not recommend these apartments, there are much better ones located in Murray.

The apartment itself is not bad after I spent the first 6 hours deep cleaning. When I first walked in there was dirt and trash all over the floor and there was an immediate smoke smell. The bathrooms had not been touched. I found things in drawers and earrings on the floor. There were stains all over my mattress and the mattress didn’t even fit the bed frame. It was obvious that there was zero cleaning that occurred between tenants. On top of that the dryer makes a loud squeaking sound. I immediately started putting in work orders and to my knowledge nothing had been fixed. If you like to clean and you are looking for a project before you can live comfortably in your apartment then I recommend this apartment complex.

I have been trying to get ahold of CEV for weeks via phone calls and emails and have not heard back. They won’t answer either one. Whenever I first moved in, there was trash everywhere, carpets weren’t cleaned, dead bugs in the entry way and my dad and I spend hours cleaning it ourselves just so I could move in. Whatever, dealt with it, never got our carpets cleaned like they said they would be. Now that I don’t live there anymore, they want to charge me hundreds of dollars to replace a piece of carpet in the room I was in when my carpets were never cleaned. This place does not care about the students or people that live there, because they up charge you for every single thing that isn’t your fault. Not to mention, the voicemail box is full when you call and they never answer.

Absolute worst place to live. Amenities are poorly kept. Everything breaks and takes forever for them to come fix it. Waited for a week and a half for them to fix our air conditioning. Dryer, showers, dishwasher all had something wrong. Exterior of the buildings falling apart. You can not get ahold of anyone via phone call or email. They rarely respond. Do not waste your money renting with them. It’s a joke.

First let me start with the fact that I received an automated text from “Audrey” asking to review the move in experience and it bring you to the generic review page on google, yet she can’t answer and phone calls or emails? Also, for starters when my roommate moved in week before us the dryer was broken and several weeks later we’re still with a broke. dryer. Emails have been sent and nothing has been done. Upon move in non of our apartment had been adequately cleaned. The floors and bathrooms were disgusting. We had to deep clean the place ourselves, but still pay for the cleaning fees. There’s been mice. There’s been ants. The ONLY reason I put 2 stars is because I believe they are short staffed here and have a lot going on.

Online says 9am-6pm. Door of the office says 10am-5pm. No one at the office at 10:15am. Got locked out of my apartment and had to call locksmith to get back in since this place is too incompetent to hire enough or good enough people to be punctual.
