We walked a stretch after dinner on a Friday in December. It was cool and quiet, and honestly quite peaceful. There are great views of the city skyline. It was raining off and on when we went so we didn't sit. Seems like a great area next to the French Quarter.

At first the Moonwalk, named after New Orleans Mayor Moon Landrieu, seems like just a great place to walk along the Mississippi. A little closer look will reveal so much more. The paving replaced the original wooden planks at this once port. The architecture and landscaping disguises that this is part of the flood control system. The walk is atop a levy, lined with limestone on the riverside to prevent erosion. Massive iron gates at the entrances can be closed protecting the City during hurricanes. The street car system even runs through the area. A marvelous piece of engineering maintained by the Levy Board and the US Corps of Engineers. A wonderful free walk along the flood control system.

Pretty nice place to take a walk - as the name suggests, it overlooks the river Mississippi. It is super close to cafes, and the very happening part of the city, so that makes it cooler.

This is one of my favorite places along the Riverwalk, not only does it provide wonderful views of the Mississippi River, Natchez River Boat, but it also places the City clearly in the background. There is also a wonderful 40 foot wide staircase that leads down to the river, perfect for taking in the sunrise or sunset.

It was a fantastic New Year Eve here. Love the vibrant vibe.

Views from ever side, one looks over the Mississippi River, behind it is Jackson Square and the historic Cathedral. You can usually see street performers here, palm readers, so grab some frozen coffee from Cafe DuMont (just off to the side) and take a stroll. There are steps here the lead right to the waterfront.

Nice place to look out over the river. You can see the viver boat paddling through the water. It's a good place to go to enjoy yourself or with family and friends. It can also be a romantic place for you to take someone. An oftened looked over place where you can see another side of New Orleans.

River park located in French Quarter opposite to Jackson square/St.Louis cathedral. Features *Preferred time to visit the park shall be day time as the Cathedral view looks awesome during day than in night. *From thanksgiving to New year close, they shall lit up Christmas trees and the place shall be decorated with lights. *Place gets crowded during afternoon -evening time so best time to take pictures shall be early morning. *There are steps on the river bank facing Mississippi river to spend the evening time. Good place to spend with family on the evening time
