The positive was that the rooms were a fairly good size by NYC standards and we didn’t have to deal with Manhattan. The negatives outweighed the positives, so just beware of what you are getting. If you are accustomed to upscale boutique hotels, you are going to spot the problems here right away. The scent was very much like trying to cover a musty smell with an air diffuser from Amazon. The bathroom amenities were like what I would expect at a cheap chain motel. There is no place in the bathroom to set down anything. The beds are crazy small. As in 2 adults cannot comfortably sleep in the doubles. No way a 2 double bed room comfortably sleeps 4. We had to ask for towels every day and we were not overusing towels. One day our room was cleaned, but so haphazardly that we weren’t sure if we had just pulled the covers up and thrown the pillows that way, or the housekeeping staff was in a heck of a hurry. The 2nd day no one ever came in at all, This hotel has potential if the quality of things is stepped up a notch.
Such a cute little hotel. The upgraded us to a king suite and it was such a great size, comfy bed, useful kitchenette. We were coming back from long overseas trip with lots of luggage and the extra space and living room were perfect. You can tell they were almost apartment like rooms which is such a bonus for NY. Plus it’s family owned and everyone was so nice. Would definitely stay again if flying to/from La Guardia.
I stayed here with my 2 friends from out of town and we absolutely loved it. Our room was so spacious and had an awesome, little balcony with a great view of downtown. The service was great and everyone was super friendly and telling us about Queens. The walk to the subway was not bad either and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, or coffee places nearby. I would definitely stay here again!
I really really liked my stay here
Pros
It’s a cozy room in a safe area even for a solo female. I didn’t feel bad walking around at all or have any problems going to the subway
There is no suspicious activity outside and even a deli next door. It’s expensive but the people are nice.
The hotel members are very kind too. And the best part of the room was the shower. It has great pressure and gets hot.
The ac is really good too and gets the room cold quick even stays cold for a while after you turn it off.
It’s so easy to get to the hotel by train and would not recommend spending money on Uber at all.
The trains are about a 10 min walk away
Cons
The fridge in the room makes a lot of sound through out the night. It was sometimes hard to sleep and stay asleep because the sound may wake you up.
The bathroom kind of smelled like plumbing and really unpleasant when I first came in, also kind of through out the stay.
The bed sheets were not the cleanest either but I had my own sheets to go on top, this is what I would recommend to do.
The pillows are hard! Like didn’t really use them because I slept better without them.
Not so much to eat or drink around
Overall I would stay here again!
Don’t be fooled by the nondescript entrance to this hotel. It’s easy to miss off the street but once inside , it’s a quaint unique little hotel with so much charm!
The staff is so friendly & go above & beyond to help with whatever you need.
The rooms are spacious, have high ceilings, modern furniture, tastefully decorated. The beds are so comfy, huge windows & our room had a little balcony.
There’s a kitchenette with a microwave, fridge & coffee maker.
They also give you a toothbrush, razor, shampoo, conditioner, body gel etc.
there’s lots of great restaurants within a 10 minute walk too.
The area is a little odd- not a ton of stores etc. but a few cute cafes and quite near the train to Manhattan. I feel safe walking around especially in the daytime. Very nice people, clean and comfortable rooms. Wish we could access the roof! But the lounge is beautiful.
Ever since I’ve moved this has been my go to spot in the city. The location is very discreet, but still commutable to other nice things in the area. The staff is amazing there, always willing to help out. Aaron especially made sure to take the extra mile to reassure me a situation that I occurred on my behalf was getting fixed by them. Highly recommend, this place is a GEM!
We needed a hotel which was conviently located for subway access to Manhattan and Arthur Ashe stadium for our child's college graduation. We loved this hotel for our room, the vibrant neighborhood around, and then also we rented the art gallery to host a grad party and it was a fabulous event and the staff were so helpful to make our party special. The neighborhood had great shops to supply our food and drink and all the guests commented on what a great spot it is and how did we find it??? Lucky for sure to find this gem.
Form 50 is my favorite workout to do every week. All of the instructors are amazing, they really help you get the most from your work out and theyâre all so sweet! My week doesnât feel complete if I donât take at least one class.
