The Mazant - Guest house in New Orleans - 906 Mazant St, USA

My son got married here in March 2023. We had 3 nights and the venue was stunning and a perfect location for a wedding. Caretaker was very attentive and helpful. Really can't fault anything other than having to leave. Quite possibly the nicest venue I have ever stayed in and this was the opinion of all the guests who stayed and visited - we filled all the rooms to capacity. Just perfect!

The Mazant is a beautiful house and venue in Bywater. A group of 12 friends stayed here for a weekend trip to New Orleans. We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoyed the beautifully decorated surroundings, including a well maintained (and well heated) pool / hot tub. The kitchen facilities are large and well stocked -- we had a chef come to the house to prepare a fantastic dinner. The team running the Mazant are also friendly and quick to follow up with any questions we had. The neighborhood also was very walkable to some restaurants/coffee shops/bars and a quick car ride to other parts of the city (e.g. French Quarter). While it's not the cheapest option around, but we came away feeling it was worth the money for a beautiful and well appointed stay. Would love to return!

We were unable to tour the property prior to our big day due to living in Seattle and the timing not working out, but could tell from photos that it would be the perfect space for our wedding. Little did we know that it would exceed our expectations in every way. Upon check-in, we were met by Kevin who was available throughout the weekend in case anything came up and quickly responded to any questions that we called/texted about. The house itself easily accommodated our group of 16 without feeling like we were on top of each other. Each bedroom is so unique and cozy and the shared spaces are dreamy. Our other guests were able to easily find lodging within walking/biking distance to The Mazant and there are so many great spots to eat and drink close by. We utilized both the inside and outside spaces for our reception/ceremony (about 100 guests in attendance) and our vendors had no issues setting up and taking down. The side yard is such a dreamy space for a ceremony and we received nonstop compliments about how stunning the whole property was. After the festivities, we were able to relax by the fire pit and the pool/hot tub with our family to reflect on just how perfect everything turned out. We cannot recommend The Mazant enough to anyone planning an event. Both Kevin and Jeff were incredibly helpful in the planning process and made communication a breeze. Gustavo, the caretaker, is such a quirky and sweet man who took some time to talk with us about the property and the adorable neighborhood cats that would occasionally visit us while we were outside. We cannot wait to return and are still in awe at how perfect the weekend was.

Couldn’t have been a more lovely setting for our wedding. The space is 10x what any picture or 3D walkthrough could show you. Staying a few extra nights exploring the neighborhood is also worth it, the Bywater is a truly authentic New Orleans dreamscape. The best dive bars, extremely walkable, amazing food and kind neighbors. Frady’s, Elizabeth’s, Bud Rips, Bacchanal and countless more. The Mazant, Kevin and Jeff are all so helpful and thoughtful, absolute dream!

The Bywater Neighborhood Association happily holds its annual Summer Social for members at the Mazant. Some people choose to sit outside near the pool where the snow ball ladies and the beer from the Bywater Brew Pub are set up. People who prefer cool airconditioning like the indoor sitting areas and the kitchen with the food! There is a display of the history of the house in a hallway near the kitchen and beautifully furnished sitting rooms to wander through while meeting new neighbors and old friends. It must be a wonderful place to have a wedding or a family reunion, or any kind of celebration!

We recently stayed at the Mazant and the home was absolutely perfect and suited all of my family's needs. The private heated pool and spa are a nice amenity to enjoy both during the day and into the evening. We also enjoyed the fire pit at night and the outdoor picnic table with cozy string lights. The house is equipped with everything you would need and more! Kevin and Jeff manage the property and are both easy to work with and accessible at all times. Highly recommend the Mazant, and will likely stay here again during future NOLA trips!

Gorgeous venue for a vow renewal! The house had a wonderful historic feel with nice modern touches, such as a fully updated kitchen, spacious pool and connected hot tub, & scenic outdoor spaces. Kevin was a delight and made sure everything for our event ran smoothly. Overall, one of the most memorable locations I have been to in the city.

We were a group of 15 (8 adults and 7 kids) and had the most amazing stay! I highly recommend The Mazant! It is a beautifully restored home with no detail left unturned. The hospitality is outstanding and the amenities are perfection. There are plenty of activities just around the house to entertain a variety of interests. At any given time in the day, members of our group were enjoying cooking in the kitchen, swimming in the heated pool, playing a round of croquet, or just relaxing around the home. It truly has a space for everyone to enjoy! Thank you Kevin and Jeff for the amazing hospitality!
