The Maryland Inn of the Historic Inns of Annapolis - Featured Reviews (249)
My husband and I stayed here for one night for a wedding in Annapolis. Location was great, with nearby parking garages and occasional street parking. The fact that you have to go to a different building to check-in and check-out was a bit annoying, as well as having to figure out parking or walking there. I called to ask about when was the latest time I could check in but did not get a straight answer from the person who answered and was told to come before the wedding started. Would have been helpful if there were other check-in options. It was fun to go downstairs for the tavern/bar and enjoy that with friends. There was a foot wide (all the way around) circular red stain on the floor in our room, was a little creeped out by this, not sure if there was a murder here or just a big wine stain from a previous guest that was not cleaned up. The shower was very, very small. You could not turn while washing yourself without hitting your arms/elbow on the shower knob and you could not adjust the shower head. The fan/vent in the bathroom was not operational. Most of the outlets in the room were not working. The bed was comfortable and the room was dark to help with sleep. Unfortunately, the value for the price was not there - we spent about $300 (was $249 plus tax). Would not stay again.
4 Things:
• Room was TINY for the high price I paid. Friends staying had much larger rooms.
• The room stank very badly. It seemed to be coming from the dehumidifier.
• There was a giant water bug/roach in my room.
• They charged a hidden "conservation fee" higher than the site I booked through or their website detailed.
Be aware.
Had a great experience at the Maryland Inn. Matthew Mowery, the assistant general manager, was very helpful! As well as Antsa at reception. Thank you both!
The Historic Inns of Annapolis with its rich traditions has guest experiences like no other featuring timeless elegance with modern conveniences. The Historic Inns of Annapolis is in the heart of the downtown historic district featuring three vintage distinctive properties: Governor Calvert House where all guests check in, and Robert Johnson and Maryland Inn each offering their unique ambiance.
I was only there for a meeting but the staff was great and I love the location.
My room and hotel was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can’t beat the location!
Positive: The Inn is located in the center of Annapolis which is ideal, it is very easy to navigate around the area, we enjoyed a day trip to DC also. I appreciated that I didn't feel pressured to use the valet service however it was a pain having to consider parking. We were able to park for free at Calvert St garage during weekend days/nights which was great. (We used South St lot for the rest of our stay at $15/24h)

Negative: Unfortunately, we paid over $300/night for a queen bedroom including additional fees, this was way overpriced in our opinion. The room was small, noisy and lacked attention to detail. It felt unnecessary to have so much large furniture in such a small space - making it difficult for two people to move around. The room had a coffee machine, coffee, teabags but no sugar, no cream, no bottled water etc. We bought milk on the first day but after using the teabags, no more cups/teabags were left out in the following days which was frustrating.

As others have stated the main lobby is in a separate building so you feel a bit abandoned/left to your own devices here. Overall, the inn felt unwelcoming and lacked atmosphere. A lot of what you see online is of the main building/lobby which is misleading.

To round it off a large cockroach ran across the room on our last night, this made me really uneasy and had me waking up several times throughout the night. Disappointing.
We booked 2 rooms. One single and one for a family of 4. The family room had 1 small bed and the children had to sleep on the floor. My single was so small that my coffee maker sat on the toilet. There was a paint tray on the floor that my great-granddaughter almost stepped in it. Great location, very walkble but they need to pay attention when booking the rooms.
This hotel is the worst hotel I ever checked in. My mom falls in the lobby and broke her knee. They refused to cover any medical expense not even apologize.
