Gorgeous hotel, inside and out, with the friendliest staff you will ever meet! The location was perfect - surrounded by great restaurants and close to key Savannah sites (riverfront, squares, park, etc.). This is an old hotel, so expect sound at night or pack earplugs - we heard things dragged/rolled across the floor, footsteps up to our out-of-the-way door, etc. Ghost-hunters would have a field day. We also loved the ice-cold water always available, and the wine reception each night with live music. Two notes: The State Street Parking Garage is literally around the corner and dirt cheap if you can park yourself. Also, the breakfast is buffet style, except the wait staff get everything for you - There are fabulous breakfast places all around, so consider skipping the included breakfast. Overall, though, loved this hotel and would stay here again any time we're in Savannah.

The Marshall House was a great, central location for all the things we did in Savannah. We booked a Broughton Balcony room on the second floor so we could sit outside and watch the world go by. Our room was comfortable and the staff was always ready to supply directions, recommendations on things to do and cold water to take out on our adventures. Breakfast was included in our price, as was the complimentary afternoon wine & cheese reception - a nice way to unwind after touring all day. The bottle of sparkling wine for our wedding anniversary was a sweet bonus that we enjoyed, as well. Marshall House has a history of being haunted, and while I can't swear that we had any other-worldly visitors, if you are sensitive to this sort of energy, you'll definitely feel the vibe!

Amazing staff! I've never stayed at a hotel with so many employees that were as friendly as they were. You really felt special. The rooms were old but VERY comfortable. Great location as well. Already planning another stay. One special note, we walked l, back to back 21k+ steps days and each time we returned, there were always cold water bottles ready in the lobby. A small but appreciated perk. Plus, they answered all of my dumb haunting questions with a smile.

An exceptional historic hotel! Location could not be any better. Valet your car and you don't need it until you leave. It's very centrally located and walkable to everything, including many excellent restaurants. The entire staff is friendly and willing to help you with anything. The ambience, the decor, the whole experience was wonderful! I would definitely return.

Simply wonderful! Family friendly, but friendly for those with out children too. Staff was hard working and friendly. Clean!! Charming and historical. We loved the amenities that were so hospitable. Water, tea and coffee, breakfast was delicious and the happy hour and entertainment each evening. One of our favorite hotel stays to date.

It is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of downtown Savannah, within easy walking distance to great restaurants and River Street. The rooms were very pretty and historic, but the mattresses were terrible and enough to make me not stay there again. The breakfast was also overpriced for average food and it's automatically added to your room as an "amenity fee," so it's unavoidable. In my opinion, the negatives outweighed the positives.

My wife and I decided to stop in Savannah on the way back from a trip to Florida. We wanted to spend a couple of days soaking up the unique historical elegance we had heard so much of. Everything we did met or exceeded expectations. But the Marshall House was perfect in every way. The preservation of its historical nature, the charm of the old building was perfect. The staff? Every single interaction was a warm and welcoming greeting, always asking if we needed anything. The evenings always had some kind entertainment's to go with the happy hour. . Our stay here has been one our best hotel experiences we have ever had, including some very high end resorts. Oh, the restaurant, 45 Bistro, was also excellent and we highly recommend.it.

Anniversary trip. My husband had planned this trip away for us. The Marshall house is wonderfully located to many things. That said, if you get a room on Broughton Street, be prepared for car and people noise late into the night. It’s also advertised that this place has private balconies. It’s one private balcony, the length of the second floor, which you access by climbing out your window. Again, this means that people can sit outside your window late at night, talking and drinking, with no regard to who may be trying to sleep. And for what we paid for the room, I had hoped the clientele would be a little more mature. Instead, at 11pm the first night, there were young people yelling and running up and down the hallway. The desk did end up moving us, to a back room that overlooked the parking garage. Gave up sights for quiet, I guess. I’d take your money and go to Charleston instead. More to do, nicer hotels for less money and great food. Location was great though. Maybe come in off season.

What a gem. This is a total find. The apartment is very large and has everything you need for a comfortable visit. We were two friends, so I used the sofa bed as an extra room. It worked very well - it’s big and comfortable and, if you ask, they’
