Could not recommend this place more! Stayed a night in The Dollhouse which is incredibly cozy and quaint with amazing woodwork. Quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was served in the main house which I thought I had missed as I overslept but the owners came to check if I still wanted to eat and served up a delightful buffet. The owners are very nice and welcoming people that were fun and refreshing to talk with, as were the other guests at the breakfast table. Do yourself a favor and make this your top choice next time you're staying in Laramie!
This was one of the best bed and breakfast experiences we've had and we have stayed in a lot of them. The booking was a bit out of the ordinary for our current online technology, however, do not let that deter you. We were welcomed and treated so well by Lawrence and Danny. We stayed in the Dollhouse, a separate building that was so comfortable with its own little kitchenette set up. The woodworking that Lawrence has accomplished is breathtaking, along with the stained glass, both in the Dollhouse and in the main house. Breakfast was amazing. Danny made a special gluten free berry crumble for me which was delicious and so kind of her. We would absolutely stay here again.
Made new friends. great food, great room, great conversation. Make you feel like family. I would go out of my way to stay with this sweet couple again. Just make sure you park so all the cars face the same direction on the road the police don't like things not uniform.
This is an exceptional stay. The hosts are incredibly kind people and provide a fantastic breakfast. The Dollhouse is just the most exquisite addition to the Inn, the Gameroom is awesome, and the place is so clean on top of it all. Thank you!
5 Stars across the board warrants the firewall 5 Star overall. The Blossom room was fab, the claw foot tub was so cozy, the location was quiet and wonderful in being central to everything, the food (the crumble especially), and the service by Mr. and Mrs. T was off the charts. Probably some of the best host and hostess family ever experienced. They really are wonderful and their home is just the same. Definitely will return here when a visit to Laramie is in order. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. T!
Let me preface this by saying that I am very picky when it comes to travel/accommodations. We had to attend a wedding in town and I, knowing how small of a town this is, expected that options would be very limited. What I did NOT expect to find this absolute gem amongst said options. I read the reviews and immediately called to book the dollhouse. We have not stayed at a bed and breakfast before and the laid back booking system was not something we were used to, but don’t be thrown off by this. Danny and Lawrence are easy going, incredibly kind, very organised and thoughtful people: who seemingly with such ease, create a warm, welcoming, and incredibly comfortable stay for their guests. My mother in law stayed in the main house, which was also so beautiful and very comfortable. The dollhouse where we stayed, was exceptional as well - it felt like coming home to your favourite cool grandparents house for the holidays. We were allowed to check in early, there was a big community puzzle in the living room that we happily indulged in. Everything was very clean, crazy comfy beds (and my god, the reclining chair on the doll house? We’re now on the hunt for one ourselves…) luxurious shower and tub with jets, incredible breakfast with even better conversation, and more! I can’t say enough good things about the mad carpenter inn. My husband and I agreed that our stay here was the best part of our 24 hours in Laramie. I cannot say that I hope to come back to Laramie (this is not meant to be rude, zero offence to anyone - just illustrating how incredible TMCI is, as Laramie isn’t our typical weekend getaway…) but I would HAPPILY come just to stay here again. 11/10 would recommend!
Our home away from home—that would be the perfect description for the Mad Carpenter Inn. Our hosts, Lawrence and Danny Rue Thomas, went the extra mile to make our stay a memorable one. They welcomed us with open arms during our late-evening arrival. Our room, the Dollhouse, was immaculate and filled with beautiful solid-oak treasures, including a spiral staircase, that Lawrence had lovingly crafted by hand. Most of all, we felt as if we had known them for years as we visited with them during the sumptuous breakfast that Danny Rue prepared. Thank you, Danny Rue and Lawrence, for your gracious hospitality! We will be back! —Kathy and Steven T. Callan
The owners are great host and provided everything we needed. We had a wonderful conversation during breakfast that was made for us, we will continue to stay for every trip to Laramie we take. Such beautiful craftsmanship.
Amazing Chocolate!! Cute shop and great service. Come in and grab some sweets for yourself or family. Love that they have Jelly Beans you can get by your favorite flavor. Also the Harry Potter chocolate they have was on point. Great chocolate advent
Unreal, very impressed by the Buffalo Indian Restaurant. Here for the Texas Tech vs Wyoming game and wanted to check out the local fare. Couldn't be more thrilled with the choice. Everything was delicious -- we had Momo, Cheese Naan, Garlic Naan, an
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Comfortable booth, friendly server and great food. So happy to know where to go for rich and satisfying vegetarian food In Wyoming. The cauliflower General Tsao is spicy as all get out. ð¥ Hula burger is a win
We were walking in downtown Laramie, WY, and came across this gem. They had some amazing cupcakes, with great prices. I had the Carrot Cake, and the wife had the Toffee Caramel. The cupcakes are delicious and super moist. Definitely recommend stoppi
