The Lookout Inn of New Orleans - Featured Reviews (74)
Love the Lookout Inn. Room was gorgeous, the bed was comfy, quality sheets and towels, the coffee was really good, there are towels for the pool, shower toiletries, an iron, a hairdryer, the A/C worked great and WiFi was strong (lots of other good stuff but it’s all in the listing). ||Outside, the patio area is charming, the pool is perfect for cocktail-ing (not a pool for swimming laps / cannonballs etc). The kitchen has ice, a water cooler, microwave and a selection of other stuff you might need like sunscreen, bug spray, chargers, plastic cups, paper plates etc. |Honestly, they’ve thought of everything. |(We got to meet Kelly and her dog and they’re great, too) ||There are train sounds occasionally. It didn't bother us but that’s a personal thing so I can’t say it wouldn’t bother someone else. Otherwise, it’s a residential neighborhood and very quiet. If you want a Bourbon Street party vibe, you’ll probably be happier in the Quarter. ||Bywater is a great neighborhood with plenty of really charming restaurants and bars all walkable from the house and we loved being there. We go to New Orleans a lot though and no longer feel the need to be in the middle of the tourist center all the time (or ever). If you do, you’ll need to figure out the bus schedule, Uber a lot or rent a car. We had a car and parked right in front of the house every night no problem. ||If Bywater is the neighborhood for you, then this would be the place to stay, no question. Can’t wait to go back.
We stayed in the Mardi Gras suite . It was beautiful and clean and smelled good too. AC kept us nice and cool. We had our own entrance/exit, which was nice. the bed was very comfortable. Owner(Kelly) was nice and took good care of us when we need something. Parking is on the street, so it's first come, first serve. If the area in front of the inn is taken, you can usually park a short walk away. Would definitely stay at the Look Out Inn again.
The Lookout in was the perfect place to stay in New Oreleans. ||Not in the direct flow, but still very close to anything you might want to do either downtown, in the French quarter, or city in general. They are VERY dog friendly. The owner and her daughter loved our two dogs (15/65# well behaved pups). It was a relief to be able to have the dogs with us in the back yard by the pool. The rooms are cute af, stylized with love individually, we stayed in the eclectic bollywood suit (photos just don't do it justice). The owner Kelly was also very attentive and knowledgeable about everything. They offer up their suggestions for all things food, drinks, and entertainment. Pool was a lovely size for chilling, there was a hot tub, but we didn't use it. Outdoor cabana, was lovely, we left a few beers for whoever came next, as someone left a few for us. Forgot something at home? They probably have something you could borrow. Secure, never felt worried about our car (which was loaded with camping gear). Will say it was close to the train tracks, we didn't mind, but if you're a light sleeper could be problematic. Most places in this area though are close to/on the tracks. ||Literally cannot say enough kind things about this place, and the folks that run it. I don't know when we'll ever be back in town, but it would be a no brainer to stay there again.
Loved the Lookout Inn! Really cute and truly the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed. Will be my go to spot when I'm in New Orleans. Kelly and her fam are super nice and the entire stay was really just easy and comfortable. Cant wait to go back!
I loved the Lookout Inn. I booked it because my niece lives around the block and it was very convenient, but I'll go back because I enjoyed it so much. The four rooms each have a different theme and the property has a super cute and compact backyard with pool, cabana, and spa. The owners live on property and were very responsive when needed and invisible otherwise, plus super nice. The neighborhood is eclectic and artsy in a quirky way. I also loved that it's pet friendly. I didn't bring my dog but got a few pets in with someone else's.
The lookout inn was the best hideaway escape located right in the cutest Bywater neighborhood near the French quarter. This beautiful property felt safe, secure and welcoming. ||There were clear instructions provided by the sweet owners for a self guided check-in process and a private entrance to our stunning Elvis Suite which absolutely exceeded our expectations. The room, overlooking the backyard pool area, was clean and stocked with all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, not to mention it was huge- plenty of space for practicing your best Elvis dance moves. ||Just a quick Uber ride into the Quarter for all of the tourist attractions, and plenty of neighborhood bars to stay close by for a morning Bloody Mary or a night cap. ||We absolutely loved staying here, had so much fun living in the moment we didn’t take too many pictures, but we’ll definitely be back very soon!
What a memorable place! It’s a small cozy inn with everything you ever need: a uniquely decorated room, a cute little pool, a hot tub, an outdoor sitting area, and even a chill/sofa room within your own suite. There are some cute bars and restaurants in the area too. Felt local and far from being touristy which was what we wanted.
Chose this place because we were in town for a wedding and it was in walking distance of the venue, but I would absolutely stay here again even if our events were on the other side of the city. The Elvis suite was fun and kitchy and SO much bigger than we expected. The owners are super responsive and kind, the pool area is dope, you’re in walking distance of some really excellent food (check the binder in the room for recommendations, they’re solid). Literally nothing bad to say, 10/10, stay here.
Maison Perrier is hands down the most authentic, charming, and inviting place to stay in New Orleans! We hope to only stay there on all future visits. The location is perfect- walking distance to all our needs and safe/quiet streets for parking. The
Had a great stay at the Burgundy! Joe and Federico were great hosts. The location is fantastic - in a quiet neighborhood, but a quick walk to major destinations. Breakfast was solid. Little quirks with the house being old, and the wifi connection
Love the historic Sweet Olive! Itâs a true bed and breakfast, and the food is awesome. The host, Kate is responsive and charming. I loved having breakfast in the dining area & meeting the other guests. Parking is not a problem. Also they have a po
What a lovely place to stay! It took me longer than usual to decide on my accomodation in NOLA. I wanted to be close to the French Quarter as I love to explore cities on foot. There are several hostels and hotels in that area, some of them even for a
We stayed in late November and LOVED the common area kitchen! Our room was the Champagne room, which we adored. Everthing works wonderfully and the hot tub was a super cool feature for those chilly nights. I wish there was more history about the buil
