I spent my birthday in Sonoma with my family on July 16th. The front desk person was wonderful! When I told her that it was my birthday, she said that I could pick out any bottle of wine from their selection for FREE! The suite was very comfortable. I loved their body wash, shampoo & conditioner that was provided in the bathroom. They even made the sofa bed for my son. They had bikes parked at each suite which was cool. They also had wine tasting on the day that we were there. There is a pool and jacuzzi. We had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. I really enjoyed myself. It was a perfect birthday! I would definitely come back to stay.
The rooms in this hotel are horrible. I don’t know how they justify charging $800+ a night. The pictures look so much nicer than what they actually are. It’s like you walked into a motel. We were going to check out and go somewhere else but it was already 6pm so we decided it was only one night and decided to stay. They offered us $60 off breakfast.
We decided to go to dinner. After we got back, we realized there was no hot water. They sent someone up to fix it and he said the water heater blew out and that he turned it back on and should be 5 min. Nope. Still no hot water. They sent maintenance up again. He left to go get some part and finally came back and fixed it.
Then we were fixing up the pull out bed for our daughter and noticed the sheets smelled horrible. They brought sheets right away. They didn't smell very good either but at this point we didn't want to call again.
The bed was very uncomfortable, couldn’t sleep and woke up with our backs killing us.
The next morning we went to breakfast. It is expensive for what you get and the food wasn’t very good. It was cold and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. We didn’t even eat half of it.
The only good thing I can say is the bartender was very friendly and the staff that helped us Friday night were friendly and really tried helping us with everything we encountered. As for a lady at the front desk Saturday morning she was very rude.
We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the pool and service was great. The shuttle to and from the square was useful. A couple minor issues in the room (eg hairdryer only had one prong on the plug) and we were surprised to find the windows in our second floor room did not have screens so not great for kids.
The Lodge is a lovely property with hotel rooms and cottages. It has a lot of potential but seems tired and not especially well run. The pool area was not well maintained. Lounges had ripped covers and umbrellas were in need of maintenance. There is no lifeguard or pool attendants. The “casual’ restaurant is in need of training. Service was poor and meal can incorrectly. This was addressed but still annoying. Cottages were clean and ok. The shower has no handles for safety and the tv worked intermittently. These are some of the issues we saw. Nothing of great consequence, but taken all together not what one expects of a property in this price range.
We spent one night in this hotel. The majority of the rooms are cottages with outside entrances but we stayed in the main building. We were upgraded to a very spacious 1-bedroom suite with a large, separate living room, a fireplace, and a small balcony. One thing the room lacked was blackout curtains or shades of any kind; the only window covering was some white mini blinds, which made for a lot of light in the morning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and very modern.||Dining options are good. We had dinner at Wit & Wisdom, whose menu is curated by chef Michael Mina. It offered elevated comfort food and an extensive wine list. We had breakfast at Benicia's, the on-site bistro, and it was delicious and hearty.||The location is a longish walk from the Sonoma town square, and a little removed from wineries.
The property is nice with a lot of beautiful flowers and a good layout.
The rooms are decent size, but the balconies are tiny. Since the doors open out, we had to rearrange the furniture to get it closed again. It is nice to have a daily maid service, especially since they only give you a minimal amount of towels.
The restaurant is pretty good, but table service is just okay. The bar oddly closes at 8:00 PM.
Sleep quality is a bit above average. The hotel is reasonably quiet.
Location is good.
Beautiful rooms. Service and food at benicia's kitchen were excellent. Hotel and pool were well maintained and clean. I liked the pool side snack bar, outdoor bar seating.
I asked before my trip for the cost of the advertised wine shipping service and was refused that info. Turned out shipping two bottles cross country was going to be $80 or so, so no.
Front desk staff were very pleasant, but were completely unprepared to provide any sort of concierge service -- not even a simple dinner recommendation.
Ample free parking.
Major complaint: "resort fee" in excess of $50 a night was tacked on. Something that I did not learn about until will after I made my "free" booking using points.
Hotel neighborhood was low-end commercial. While one could walk to the square, it's not a pleasant walk.
We had an amazing experience celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. The staff were wonderful and really made us feel welcome. We had breakfast every morning at Benicia’s and Edwin made us feel like family. He was so friendly and kind going above and beyond to make sure that are meal was top notch. We also enjoyed our time talking with Roscoe, the bartender. Our room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were able to walk and ride bikes into town but when I booked I was under the impression that the square was much closer. Laurie, the concierge was very helpful and emailed me recommendations prior to our arrival. We spent a relaxing day at the spa and Erin made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our day. We would definitely stay here again even with the additional resort fees and hospitality taxes. We felt so welcome and well taken care of.

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was staying at Sonoma Bungalows. I went to Napa/Sonoma to celebrate my birthday in September and my bestie came along, we had the best girls trip! We stayed in the studio unit and it was perfect for us. Loc
First time there and we really enjoyed it. Wonderful and homey rooms/suites. Outdoor areas are very inviting. Very close and convenient to the Square. Marcie was an excellent host!
The Donum Estate is a 200-acre winery located in between Sonoma and Napa Counties. A top-notch producer of Pinot Noir with one of the largest private sculpture collection in the world. Well worth visiting.
The BEST overall experience. Touring the vineyard, tasting the grapes, excellent wines, and the views. Ivan was a terrific host. We will definitely be back again.
Come for the coffee, stay for the good vibes! The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating and you can tell they enjoy their work environment. The drive thru moves fast and if you want to stay a while, there are tables outside.
As someone from New York, I have a high standard when it comes to bagels and I have to say Homegrown Bagels impressed me with their lox special on everything bagel. Itâs not quite a NY bagel but pretty darn good and the best Iâve had in Californi
Another great evening at Cafe La Haye; this time for my daughter's birthday. It is so nice to see the familiar faces of the staff and folks that seem to be locals.
All of the specials sounded tempting, as did the menu items. I had the ahi tuna tarta
Elisa is such a great hostess! Our group rented three rooms this past week, and none of us had any complaints, because we totally enjoyed it! this location is just incredible, and the town of Sonoma is so charming. You are scheduled half of a block o
Do yourself a favor and stop here if you are in the area or driving through Sonoma. The food and drinks are fantastic! The pozole rojo and pozole verde were delicious â not something you can find in many places! I highly recommend any cocktail with
