A rainy day gave us the perfect opportunity to have a break in our farming schedule, and to dine out for supper. The Local, did not disappoint! Our salmon salad, tenderloin and BLT were all delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and service excellent! We definitely will be back!
From being greeted with a smile, to food presentation and taste, to amazing service, this place has it all. The fact that most (if not everything) here is locally sourced makes it that much more enjoyable. We had the Goat cheese fritters for an appetizer, DELICIOUS. I had the Strawberry salad and added shrimp, EXEMPLARY. My husband had the Smokeshow Burger, PHENOMENAL. We have nothing bad to say. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back!
As good as the "Beef House" is, and as good as "Maple Corner" was... We will drive by both of them to eat here at "The Local" again and again... We started out with the "Fried Oster Mushrooms" appetizer, delicious yes, enormous for two people, definitely! Batter was light and crispy, taste and texture was excellent! We took over half of them home! She had the "Fried Tenderloin with Onion Rings"... Again she could only eat half! Breading on the Tenderloin was perfect... The coating on the Onion Rings was thin and crispy! I had the "Tuscan Pesto with Shrimp" and again a generous portion with over half going home for another meal! The sauce, dried tomatoes, spinach, herbs and spices were a perfect blend in with the large Shrimp and noodles done just right! You have to try the desserts! The "Warm Butterscotch Cookie with Vanilla ice cream, covered with sauce" is to die for... Very rich and extra sweet... On the lighter side, she had the "Banana Foster with Vanilla ice cream" and its own special sauce! All in all, it was a "5 Star" dining experience between great food, great service with friendly and informed wait staff! Highly recommended!!!
Our first visit to the local but definitely not the last. We started with lemon drop martinis, bruschetta, Italian beef egg-rolls for appetizers and salads. We loved everything! Especially the blue cheese on my salad. Incredible. The shrimp Alfredo was absolutely amazing and tasted like it was homemade by a loving grandmother, not a restaurant! The spaghetti and huge meatballs were also impressive. Lunch was wonderful and the quiet friendly atmosphere is refreshing! Tia was our server and the owner even came out to make sure we had a good experience! Thanks guys!
It was absolutely delicious. Fried green tomatoes were amazing!
Great spot for premium dinner date with the wife on our anniversary!
The Local is one of the best restaurants in the area hands down! Food is always top notch, chef’s specials are changing all the time and service is great.
The food was very tasty. The place is very small and I think it would normally be cozy. But tonight was a holiday and it was packed. The place looked very nice, the outside was not well lit so you could drive past it and not even know it. We are planning on going back on a normal night to see how it stacks up. But overall, I would say give it a try.
