The Lewis House Bed & Breakfast - Featured Reviews (25)
We have stayed in many locations around Whitehall and Montague, but nothing compares to The Lewis House. We are a well-traveled couple, and we were incredibly impressed with the decor, attention to detail (wonderful, well-appointed ensuite bathrooms and thoughtful touches throughout the entire home), kindness of the hosts Debi and Greg, and the delicious breakfast. We cannot wait to stay at there again, and we are planning our return. ||We loved being so close to the bike trail and could easily walk into town or along the lake for hours.
Such a gem! Lewis House is a beautiful, clean, and relaxing b&b with lovely views of White Lake. Debi and Gregg have lovingly restored the beautiful old Victorian (exactly like the pictures!) and they were such warm and friendly hosts, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in the Lake Room and the bed was very comfortable. Very walkable to bike trails, kayaking, and breweries/restaurants. Overall HIGHLY recommend checking out Lewis House!
This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and we really enjoyed it. Everything is designed and decorated beautifully. Debi was very friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast one day, but it was fabulous, and Debi was thoughtful enough to ask about dietary restrictions during check in. There were snacks, coffee, water, and soda available, and it was lovely to make a cup of coffee and sit out on the porch or in the backyard overlooking the lake with a good book. The location was perfect, too -- within walking distance of some local establishments, but still quiet. I am a terrible sleeper, so it was great to be able to stay in such a quiet environment. Highly recommend!
We were planning a trip back to MN from NY and we picked Whitehall as a spot to stay because we wanted proximity to the high speed ferry to WI. We also wanted to relax for a few days after a long car trip and explore the sand dunes of western Michigan. How lucky we were to find the Lewis House. ||||It is a 19th C home that has been lovingly restored inside and out. The decor has an attractive minimalist feel with loving attention to the original spirit of the home. Our room had an adjoining "dressing room" and luxurious bathroom. The hosts, Debbie and Greg were available if needed and very helpful. Debbie arranged a separate early breakfast for us to accommodate our ferry schedule. All the breakfasts were quite good - we were so glad not to miss one and we so appreciated her efforts.||||The property overlooks White Lake which connects to Lake Michigan and is walking distance to downtown Whitehall. The grounds are lovely and there is a delightful deck built into the side of the hill overlooking the lake; a lovely spot to read and relax.|| If you are lucky, Greg might even be playing his trombone somewhere nearby.
A perfect stay. It was everything you would want and expect in a B&B. Beautiful vintage home with updated amenities. The room was great and the bathroom was as nice as any upscale hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. Great location and was an easy walk to town where we found great pubs, nature and a farmers/craft market. I highly recommended if you are in the area.
If you want a near perfect experience, stay at the Lewis House!|These are a few of the things we appreciated:|1. The Lewis House is faultlessly restored. The house itself is authentic, and all the rooms inside are tastefully redone. |2. The house overlooks White Lake. Beautiful deck views! Meticulous landscaping all around the house! |3. Tasty breakfast! Much better than any restaurant breakfast I've had recently. |4. Friendly, interesting, helpful hosts. Debi and Greg were unhurried, and spent a lot of time with us. Greg sent us home with some of his homegrown garlic. What a guy!|Stay at the Lewis House!
We happened upon The Lewis House by accident. Friends of ours organized a bike trip along the Hart-Montague trail and had listed a small motel across the street from the Lewis House as the place to make a reservation for lodging. By the time we called, it was full so I looked online and found the Lewis House was right across the street. My procrastination making a reservation at the other motel turned out to be the best experience ever! There is not one negative comment to be made about this place. Debi and Greg are gracious hosts. Debi is a fantastic cook and Greg is a talented gardener and grounds keeper. The landscaping and view are gorgeous! Our room was lovely! Meticulously clean! The bathroom was very luxurious as well. Everything about this place is so classy. I loved the decorating style. We will definitely go back and try out a different room as I am sure they are all magnificent!
The Lewis House Bed & Breakfast was a great experience, beautiful home with a lot of history but with modern amenities. Very clean and taken care of. Greg and Debi were great hosts. Breakfast was great as well. Looking to stay in the Whitehall/Montague area? I would recommend staying here.
What a charming place with great food! After an afternoon of walking the area my wife and I stopped at Pekadillâs for a sandwich. We are glad we did. My wife got a beef sandwich on rye and loved it. I got their rendition of a Reuben called a St
This is a restaurant that I like very much in the United States. The food is very delicious and there are many choices. The staff are very friendly and the overall feeling is very good.
We went on taco Tuesday and only one of us got tacos. They were good. The adult grill cheese is the way to go. Both the tater tots a fries were delicious. Itâs pub food but good. The service was good and our drinks were replenish frequently. We wer
Excellent food & generous portions at a reasonable price. Service is friendly & efficient. The atmosphere is warm with decorations for each holiday and chic year round decor thatâs hand painted even in the bathrooms.
