Such an awesome hostel!! Everything was super clean and comfortable. I also felt safe traveling solo! Ryan really did a great job making it homey and welcoming. Chloe, the house dog, was the sweetest pup and really adds to the homey feeling. Coffee was delicious! Will stay here again next time I am in town 😊

The Lazy Tiger is great! This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a wonderful experience. Ryan, the owner, is a fantastic host. He had great recommendations of things to do in the area and was super accommodating when I had questions/requests. As a young solo female traveler, I felt very safe. All of the outside doors were always locked with a keypad (you get the code via email before you check in) and I had a physical key to my private room, so I could lock it or leave it unlocked as I pleased. I'm pretty sure the dorm rooms use a keypad lock system like the outside doors. I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom and it was a better experience than many (more expensive!) hotels I've stayed in! As many other reviews have said, the hostel was extremely clean and well-appointed. In addition to the basics, the private room included a pair of fuzzy robes and fortune cookies when I arrived :). The common area had board games, books, a community sketchpad, and lots of guidebooks and coupons/discounts to local establishments. There is breakfast included. Chloe, the hostel dog, was so sweet, very well-behaved, and always greeted me when I came in :). She only stays on the first floor in the common area, but that may be something to note if you're very allergic or really really don't like dogs.

I loved staying at the Lazy Tiger. It was beautifully designed as a hostel and incredibly clean and comfortable. It is only 10 minutes north of Ashville--great location. Ryan was a great resource for hiking, biking and other area activities. He is so organized and always prompt in responding. I loved having his dog, Chloe, there as well. I already miss being there!

I had such a great time staying at the Lazy Tiger. Ryan was so kind and helpful the entire time. Beautiful hostel and clean! I felt extremely comfortable here. His dog was so sweet and added to the experience. Isabelle (who's painting the amazing mural) was so welcoming and excited to hear about our lives and journeys. I would recommend this stay to anyone I know. Got to meet some amazing people and learn about their lives.

We recently stayed at The Lazy Tiger Hostel for my best friend’s bachelorette party, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment we booked, the hospitality was outstanding. Ryan made sure our entire group felt right at home, going above and beyond to accommodate us. I loved the recommendations left at the hostel on places to visit, eat, and activities to do. The hostel was perfect for our large group—it was very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near everything we wanted to explore in Asheville. The small, thoughtful touches—like flowers and a personalized note for the bride-to-be—made the stay even more special. It’s clear Ryan cares about his guests and pays attention to the little details that truly matter. We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to come back. We’ll definitely be telling everyone we know about The Lazy Tiger! Highly recommend renting out for any larger group looking to have an unforgettable time. Thanks again for an amazing weekend!

This quaint spot was first recommended to me last year by the folks at Zillicoah Brewing up the street. Turns out this year we needed it for their session fest and other work events, and we were welcomed by the cleanest hostel I have stayed in yet. Ryan personally responded to the ready-to -check in emails making sure I was fully prepared for anything I might need, extending such hospitality. Not to mention I left clothing on accident and he went out of his way to ship it back to me. Cannot speak highly enough about Ryan and the Lazy Tiger staff if you are anywhere in the Asheville area.

My stay at Lazy Tiger Hostel as lodging while I pursued my 300 hour yoga teacher training at Asheville yoga center was absolutely wonderful. Ryan, the host, was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout my visit. His adorable dog added a lovely touch to the atmosphere. Ryan's recommendations for local attractions and eateries were fantastic, and his insider knowledge made my experience even more enjoyable. The hostel itself was impeccably clean, which is always a priority for me when traveling. As a single woman in my 20s traveling alone, feeling safe is crucial, and Lazy Tiger Hostel provided a secure environment that put my mind at ease. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Lazy Tiger Hostel to any traveler seeking a welcoming and comfortable stay.

The Lazy Tiger sets a new standard for hostels and affordable accommodations in general. It is super clean, well designed, convenient to all that the Asheville area has to offer, and Ryan is the nicest and most helpful host you could ask for. My intended visit of 2 days turned into 4 because it was such a great place to have as a base for my visit to the area which was part of a 6-month road trip around the eastern states. All the amenities: bathrooms/showers, kitchen facilities, and common areas were so enjoyable. All the guests I met were interesting and friendly. Put it at the top of your list!
