If you are looking to unwind in the great outdoors this is THE place. It has clean comfortable cabins that are just rustic enough that you don't feel like you are selling out and"glamping". There is direct beach access, fire pit, marked swimming area, horse shoe pits, a small children's play area, available boat rentals etc. They have everything that you need. The owners are a wonderful family. They have a summer home right on site. So, if you need something, they are always available to assist. The property is clean and meticulously maintained to the point where the lawns are almost unreasonably green. The cabins sit in a wooded area right on Otter Lake (one lake in a great chain of lakes). Only a few minutes driving distance into Eagle River's downtown area for gifts shops and restaurants. Lots of wildlife to see while you are there. They are also probably the most reasonably priced resort of its kind in Eagle River. For all of these reasons and more my family has been renting up here for over a decade. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We had a wonderful week at The Last Resort. The cabins were exactly what a family needs. The location is perfectly located to go to either side of the chain. The Lumley's were so great during our stay. They were very attentive to our requests. We will be back!

Spent a beautiful Labor Day weekend at The Last Resort. This place is a hidden gem! On top of that, the owners were kind enough to let us charge our Tesla during our stay, so much appreciated! Looking forward to the next visit!

I have been coming up here with my family for years and it is always my favorite vacation spot. I recently took a trip up with some friends and we had the best week! The resort is definitely a great option for a summer trip.

Visited The Last Resort Aug 22 - 29. This was our second trip there. Had originally come up 14 years ago and my two sons still remember it as their best vacation ever, so we decided to make a return trip.||||The place was pretty much the same, i.e. lake and cabins haven't changed, but many improvements to the grounds, improved internet, nice gazebo, etc.||||If you are looking for fancy schmancy, this ain't for you. The cabins are kind of small, but homey, and that is part of the charm of the place, you feel like you are stepping back in time. But place is great, insides are more than adequate, beds comfy, and cabin was impeccably clean! ||||We went to grill on the deck the second day, and was kind of expecting when I opened to see a lot of ashes from the last guests that would need to be cleaned. Instead, the grill was like brand new, what a pleasant sight.||||The Lumley's do an absolutely fantastic job of keeping the cabins and grounds in great shape. John, Carol, Lizzie, Zack and Katie deserve kudo's for their efforts, they really make it a pleasure to stay there. They live right on the grounds, so someone is always around to answer questions, give advice, etc.||||Would highly recommend this for families with children or without. The beach is fantastic and there is plenty to do regardless of what you like to do, or you can do nothing at all, and just sit out on the deck or down by the beach taking in the gorgeous surroundings. Sunsets were great as well.||||A piece of paradise...

This family run resort is an amazing place to stay on the Eagle River chain of lakes. There is a beach right on Otter Lake, and canoes and kayaks are provided for the guests'use. You can even reserve a pontoon or small motor boat for a day to get out and really enjoy what the chain is all about! There are also horse shoe pits and some other fun outdoor activities. The cabins provide the rustic camp-like experience while still being impeccably clean! The beds are comfortable and there are lots of books, games, and DVDs to fill a rainy day. It's really a perfect location - set in the woods a few miles outside of town, you are just a short drive from enjoying the restaurants, shops, and more of Eagle River, but also a fairly short drive from several beautiful hiking spots and the gorgeous Bond Falls in Michigan's UP. I would also like to mention that the family that owns and runs the resort is not only extremely friendly and helpful, but they live right on the property so they are there in a moment's notice if something is needed. We really appreciated their dedication to making sure we had the best experience!

We went for the first time last year with family of ALL ages and had a great time. The sand beach was very nice and if you didn't want to dig, there were a couple paddle boats you could use to go out to a raft. The cabins were stocked with everything you need to lessen the load of things to bring. It was a great getaway and I highly recommend this Resort! Can't wait to go back next Summer!

Some combination of our family has been going here for over four decades. A spectacular beach, cabins with just the right level of comfort to make you feel like you're getting away but are still plenty comfortable, not too far from town, right on the chain, and the owners still find ways to add new things every year. We've got our two cabins reserved again for next year.

A little pricy for a cone/cookie dough! The place was packed. No seating inside. Another family tried to cut us in line halfway through ordering. Good ice cream and cookie dough. Kids were happy.
