The Lake Room - New American restaurant in Wayzata - 3386 Shoreline Dr, USA

Overall, it's a nice place. The service we received was ok. The price of the bottomless mimosa is kind of pricey compared to other places I've been to. They bring you a bottle of bubbley and then little shot glasses of the juice, which for my group did not work (there were at least 15 of us). The food was ok, I thought the portion sizes could have been a little bigger (for some of the dishes). The service we received was alright, but again, we had a large group, and only 1 person serving us. They have a really nice patio, and there is plenty of parking in the back.

Our first visit the week they opened was rough so it's been a long wait (way too long) and well worth it. Drinks exceptional, Food great and service was very good. The atmosphere overall very tasteful and much improved and expanded since it opened. The new "speakeasy" lower level in honor of the owners father is very cool for a special event. The patio is a beautified parking lot with a very small capacity, the only knock here. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Food was great, great ambience, waitress was very good and I may add, attractive! Today my wife and I went back for brunch. I had the ricotta lemon pancakes topped with blueberries and my wife had the eggs Benedict. The service was excellent. The food was amazing and chef Jeremy (pictured on the left) is single! Stop by and say hi to him, very social and a nice young man.

Consistently excellent food and cocktails. We love the Chilean sea bass, walleye, short ribs and lobster bisque. The spicy Paloma is my favorite cocktail.

This is my haven amongst a sea of redneck are and restaurants out in this area. Thank god for the Lake Room. They have Prosecco and know how to make a proper Aperol Spritz. And the food is comforting and a step above the local fare. It’s my taste of Minneapolis outside or Minneapolis and I’m so grateful for it.

So, overall the food at the Lake Room is good and that's why you go to restaurants. But outside of that, overall experience is okay. The server we had was quite nice, but even with a mostly empty dining room, the service was slow with a lot of waiting before ordering. Where I'm downgrading is the restroom experience. The restrooms are shared with the next restaurant in the same building but they were extremely disgusting (toilets were gross, floors dirty and just needs a deep cleaning) both men and women's restrooms were also out of toilet paper. It's understandable that it's a shared restroom between two restaurants, but the managers/owners of the building need to figure it out because it's unacceptable. I consider the Lake Room to be a higher end establishment, and to have disgusting restrooms is a bit of a disappointment. We'll likely be back because we enjoy the food, the servers are nice but there are some other things lacking for the experience of dining here.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, very creative food. Came a little early (shortly after opening) and was able to chat with staff and a couple of regulars. Wonderful portion sizes for the dishes. I will definitely be visiting again next time I'm in the area.

Had a great dinner. Wonderful ambience and noise around us was buzzy but not so loud we couldn’t hear each other. Food was solid and drinks well prepared as well.
