Our stay at your hotel was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Mr. Kevin met us at the door with a welcoming smile and immediately made us feel at home. Despite arriving earlier than expected, the staff graciously held our bags, allowing us to explore the city and enjoy a leisurely breakfast without any hassle. Denise at the front desk truly stood out with her professionalism and kindness. She promptly attended to all our needs and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Denise is an absolute sweetheart and a true asset to the hotel. The room was a delightful surprise. It exuded charm with its real wood furniture, which added a touch of elegance and comfort. The attention to detail in the room's decor made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, the friendly staff, especially Mr. Kevin and Denise, made our experience memorable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We will definitely be returning!

I stayed at The Lafayette for a couple of nights this week. I was a bit concerned by some of the recent reviews but was pleased to find they honored my prepaid booking, even though I booked through Wyndham and the hotel is no longer part of them.|Check in was a little chaotic and their key card making machine was broken so the poor receptionist was having to go back and forth to let us all into our rooms. |My 2nd floor room was spotlessly clean and well decorated. The bed was OK, though a little uncomfortable and other amenities were lacking- only a very old coffee machine, for example, with one bag of coffee provided. The ensuite was fine with decent toiletries offered.|I think the real drawback of this hotel is that it's just rooms- no restaurant, bar, fitness etc are available despite, according to locals I spoke to, once having had one of the best restaurants in NOLA. |The receptionist mentioned that LuxUrban had sold the hotel and they were transitioning at the moment, so I really hope that the new owners give this place the TLC it needs to become the grand hotel it once was again.

First trip to New Orleans and came 2 days before we were to cruise. Positives: We have a family of 4 adults and 2 kids, so needed a room with multiple beds. We found The Lafayette that had 2 full sized beds and 1 pull out couch, fit our family perfectly! Was decently close to walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street to be close to activities. Negatives: Day 1 we arrived after driving 10 hours and we all wanted to take a shower and nap a bit before walking. Decided to just drop our luggage and go walking around instead and once back, take a shower and sleep for the night. Wasn’t enough towels, so we called the front desk to ask for a few more, no answer. Called 4X, no answer. Couldn’t find anyone, so 2 people in our party ended up drying off with hand towels. Day 1, tried calling front desk to let them know we had a leak in our room from the AC. The floor is soaked and one entire side of the bed is soaked. There’s a closet with a mirror on it directly underneath the AC and it’s completely soaked. No answer at front desk. We ended up taking the bag from the garbage can in the bathroom and placed a towel inside it. So all night all we heard was the dripping. Had to deal with a wet mattress and covers though. Day 2, woke up that morning and no one was at the front desk again. Even walked down there and no one there. Found some lady that had clear gloves on and asked for towels, not even sure she was a housekeeper. She walked upstairs and brought them down to me. Will be honest, forgot to mention about the AC. Went out walking around and once we got back and walked into the room, noticed the AC was still leaking, so immediately called the front desk. Gentlemen answered and said he’d send someone straight up. Within 5-10 minutes man came in and asked where the problem was at (there’s 2 wall ACs in our room). We pointed to the one that’s leaking and he sat a clear bucket down where the drip is at that was filled with towels and he even said it was awful. Said he’d report it but didn’t know if they’d deal with it today or not because the maintenance crew wasn’t here today. We pointed out to him that we’d be checking out tomorrow and that he could let the managers know they could refund some of our money. Nothing said by him regarding the wet mattress. Other negatives we didn’t bother to report: Horrible lighting in the room. Very few outlets. 4 big windows in the room and can only use 1 blind. 1 was completely broken and the other 2 are blocked by a massive desk. When you walk through the halls, you can see where there are water leaks and they’ve just covered it with paint (or at least tried too). They have a restaurant inside the hotel but you can’t go in to get a drink unless you’re dressed to the nines! Very strict dress code.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lafayette for his birthday and we had an amazing experience. The staff is kind, helpful and go out of their way to accommodate you. Denise at the front desk was super kind and made the check in process easy, the general manager was also very kind and assisted us when we had flight troubles and had to extend our stay. He also let us check in early when we arrived since we had an early flight. And Kevin is a gem!! Kevin helped us get settled and gave us a guide to NOLA and was just super pleasant and bubbly. The hotel itself was very clean, nice and comfortable. We stayed in one of the penthouse rooms and could not have been more satisfied.

This classic hotel fits in perfectly with the whole historic NOLA experience, inclusive of the noisy streetcar that runs right outside of it. Admittedly, the hallway carpet on my floor could use a deep cleaning ( there were stains), and there was some sort of residue on the brass part of one of the slow elevators ( likely cleaning product). However, the room itself was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were enough linen and toiletries provided. Overall, my night at the Lafayette was 4 star experience. The tone was set by my experience with the wonderful front desk services agent, Junika. ( I probably butchered the spelling of her name but, I tried.) She was very personable, helpful, and kind. So, a special thank you goes out to her.

Room key didn't work each time I had to go back to the desk for them to go and charge my door. Came back from shopping the girl at desk absolutely rude. When I asked when someone will be coming she just stated he us on his way. Night time staff, at 2 in the morning I had to go downstairs to let them, so we had to wake him up. When I went yo visit another room I had to fix the toilet tank. This was the first day. I did meet the acting general manager he was nice. Will not be coming back.

This hotel is in a great location and the room was very nice. We had a king suite that was Large and comfortable. HOWEVER this hotel has NO amenities - and no staff. The room came with a tiny bar of soap and a small shampoo and that was it. No hair dryer. No bags for the trash. No lobby. I would not stay here again.

I am also reporting a refund never received. Do not stay at this establishment! Luckily I made a claim against my credit card; the credit card company reversed the charges, and the hotel did not dispute. Having said that, I booked directly with the hotel when it was still a Wyndham. If you booked with a third party such as Priceline or Booking, this may not be as easy. Good luck everyone; it’s very sad that busy, hard working people have to go through this, and you think you’re protected by a cancellation policy, and you’re not.
