The Kind Cleaver - Vegan restaurant in Orlando - 2603 E South St, USA

Oh buddy I am obsessed. I’ve tried most of the sandwiches on the menu and they don’t disappoint. The Caesar salad is also super good, my husband and I now share that with a sandwich. The sandwiches are huge, the Seitan is made in house and they go hard with those sauces. So nice to have something like this in Orlando!

the kind cleaver has been on my radar for a long time! i’ve always been interested in their seitan and i was so excited to finally eat here. i missed the location the first time but there’s parking in the back and a cute patio out front of the market. there is additional seating inside, but not much (keep in mind this is a shared venue) first off i got a caesar salad. it was a pretty basic but delicious caesar. there wasn’t too much cheese and the croutons were tasty. i liked the dressing on the side. i tried the plush horse sandwich (reuben sandwich) to sample the house corned beef. i’ll start off by saying i really love how large the sandwiches are! and they came out fresh and hot too! i appreciated the healthy amount of corned beef in the sandwich; i would have been sad if there wasn’t a lot, given that it was delicious! the texture and flavor were on point. the only thing i was missing was some marbled rye bread. i also ordered the the calle ocho (cuban sandwich). this contained both seitan ham and pork. they were clearly distinguishable from one another and i enjoyed the different flavors. the bread was toasted and pressed perfectly, leaving a warm and slightly crispy (but not messy) bite; however, i wish there was a bit more meat. finally i had to try their mac! it came in a small container for $6. i could tell by the color that this was some high quality mac n cheese, and i was happily surprised by the strong flavor! i don’t know what they were using, but the cheese was high quality and a different type of cheese than i had grown to expect. whatever it was, it was so good 🙌 the kind cleaver is really a gem. i would easily order anything off the menu without hesitation, and i cant wait to come back and order more sandwiches (and mac)

The Gobbler is amazing! Best vegan sandwich I’ve ever had. Thanksgiving Dinner in a French Roll 🦃 This sandwich is perfect and the only suggestion would be to offer a side cup of cranberry sauce or gravy for dipping.

Our formerly broken hearts at the loss of Dharma Southern Kitchen at this location have been fully mended. The Kind Cleaver's version of the Reuben known as The Plush Horse is THE best Reuben of all iterations ever experienced by this reviewer. The Calle Ocho (an excellent Cuban sandwich) was also really good. Add amazing mac n cheez and an exquisite organic Girasole Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. That's right. I had wine with a sandwich for the first time in my life - and I'll be doing it again. The only thing that rivals the food is the nook. Our table was nestled next to a wonderful upright piano hugged by a green velvet curtain and flanked by floor to ceiling vintage suit and train cases, trunks and vintage TV cabinets with screens showing The Wizard of Oz and a vintage video game with controllers at the ready. Dining in that corner was like sitting in my grandma's attic. It was magical and comforting and I adored it. (She wouldn't approve of the wine, though.) Thank you, Brandon, and your great team! We will be back for supersize Sundays and your excellent vegan faire. NOTE: As of the writing of this review, you can only climb into this real life fairytale known as The Kind Cleaver five days a week from Wednesday through Sunday. Plan accordingly.

I just love the sandwiches. Such care is taken with crafting the meats. The texture and spices are right on point. These guys are elevating vegan options. For Halloween they made the most carefully crafted and lovely chocolate candy Jack O’ Lantern. You crack it open and out spill more chocolate treats. We brought it home and it gave us such joy to crack it and enjoyed the surprises inside. It was delightful and so well made. Finally ! Crafted chocolates at an artful level. Wonderfully done!

I've been a longtime customer and happy to see the new permanent location on South St., super close to the highway! Everything in the collective is vegan, and The Kind Cleaver CRUSHES vegan deli sandwiches, which we really don't have anything like in all of metro Orlando. Personal fav are the rotating specials and the buffalo chicken! The sandwiches are bigger than my head, so I end up with two meals. Flavors are on point and the deli meats are all made in-house weekly (definitely note they're made of gluten so if you're sensitive to that, be aware), plus you can get wholesale slices to take home with you. Gluten free chicken salad wrap is an option for those who can't handle gluten. Main House Market (also in the marketplace) sells beer and wine to pair with your sandwich. Seating is ample (indoor and outdoor), as is parking. Oh, and if you don't get a side of mac and cheese you're seriously missing out. 5 stars!

Unfortunately, I got sick after eating my sandwich, but it was very good. I would have gone back, if I had not gotten sick. Also, the service is a bit slow.
