A great and interactive museum! We took three kids under the age of 7 to this place and had very low expectations. It was wonderful. Not only is it packed with tons of info on South Dakota, but it also has fun exhibits that kids can touch and play with. Even our one year old was able to walk around freely! The building/location looks a bit intimidating, but don't let that fool you. It is a great place for families to learn about South Dakota!
Great family activity! Made it in time for a showing in the theater then walked around looking through the exhibits. Have a fun brochure with a scavenger hunt for kids. Of you have a little one that enjoys reading about history it is a huge win! We spent a couple hours between the movie & reading/walking through.
Amazing & friendly staff. They offer a military discount as well!
Nice little museum. Tad pricey ($12 each over 62). Good background of geology, history, Lakota. The only negative is they need to add or upgrade some of the exhibits' lighting. It's worth a stop on a rainy afternoon. A Few hands on things for the kids.
Nice museum for 2-3 hours of exploration. x3 movies in the theater by the front desk. Activities for small children, too. Informative exhibits with lots of detail.
Had an incredible time exploring the Journey museum whilst broken down in Rapid City. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. They have a cinema where they show short films throughout the day about the local history and people. The beadwork and art on display is beautiful! The only thing I have to say is that it felt a little jointed to walk through, particularly at the end!
Awesome Native American Artist Show! Wonderful exhibition and everyone should go see Nathaniel Ruleaux's art!
My 6yo daughter and I had a wonderful time here. The exhibits were very interesting and held her attention. We both learned a lot. A very pleasant museum for Rapid City.
Great Museum, especially when you are travelling with Kids. Lots to explore, lots to learn and a super friendly staff.
The museum covers a lot. From Dinosaurs to native Americans, frontier life and minerals. Many of the objects can be touched, which is great for the kids. We spent a rainy afternoon there, and our kid loved it. Especially the big Bison and the Fossils.
If you are in Rapid City, its really worthwhile spending 1-2h there!

The Museum of Geology was very interesting. We learned some history of animals that once lived in our area and about rocks and minerals. Lots of cool specimens. Great for kids and adults.
Pretty fun little place to experience. It was not too expensive for 2 adults and still had a fun time looking at the replicas, fossils, and everything. Cool little mirror maze and mini golf that are free with admission.
I visited this ward twice during my tour of America, such a friendly lot of people. Felt like I was part of the ward family during my 2nd visit. Has been a memorable visit that I won't forget for years to come. Thank you Bishop Piper and all Church m

This is definitely one of the nicest bars in Rapid City. It has a huge, new, old style bar that reaches to the ceiling, with a ladder that slides side to side so staff can get to the top shelves. And the glass shelves are beautifully stocked with an
Had the Muddy Berries Crepe...and OMG. nothing beats a fresh crepe with fresh fruit, Nutella, and whipped cream. Wouldn't expect this from a food court in a mall. Highly recommend. Their reeses and cream Gelato was decent as well.
I absolutely love visiting Black Hills Basecamp! Anytime I have to be in Rapid for work, I make sure I stop for a while. It is such a welcome reprieve from the work that I do and gives me some joy in the winter months when I can't be backpacking. Tha
My daughter had her first dance class the other day, and she was very shy and didnât do a lot of the things Miss Anna was teaching, but Miss Anna was patient with her and still tried to make her feel included. We signed our daughter up for dance cl
Absolutely love everything about this place!!! Met them at a concert downtown where they had the food truck. They were closing but still fed 3 of us dinner and didn't seem put out about the last min guests. Few months later found the brick and mortar
We didnât expect to stumble upon an authentic Bangladeshi restaurant in Rapid city but glad we did. We called before arrival as it was close to closing time. The couple was very sweet and accommodating. We ordered Piyaju, Morog polao and rice with

What a really cool local gem! We wanted to get away from the chain restaurants and decided to give this place a try. What was once a consignment shop-turned restaurant, we really enjoyed not only the food, but the atmosphere itself! Aside from the k
