My sister-in-law and I just got back from an amazing trip. The pictures online don't do the resort justice. You sre much closer to the beach than the pictures show. The rooms are very clean, water pressure is low though. Food and drink is expensive, but some bartenders suggested ways to save a few bucks. Our favorite bartender was Laura! She was amazing! She suggested some amazing food at the Coastal Kitchen. We had one day where we hadnt had lunch and were too early for dinner, but Laura hooked us up! Definitely a great employee who made our experience wnjoyable. We ate here most of the time, and they have happy hour! I recommend renting chairs and an umbrella to sit by the Gulf. We even saw a pod of dolphins swimming close to the beach! We will definitely be back!

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by your reservation manager, Jacklyn. This was our sixth year staying at your resort, and as always, it was a wonderful experience and has become a family tradition. What truly sets Jacklyn apart is her exceptional customer service. Not only was she efficient and professional, but she also remembered my name from our previous stay last year. This personal touch made us feel so welcome and valued. Our children have always love coming to this resort, and Jacklyn's friendly demeanor and helpful attitude have made it even more special. We are already looking forward to our next visit and hope to be greeted by Jacklyn once again.

Very thin doors- we could hear everything from hallway and from the neighbors with adjoining door. Nice balcony & view. Nice live music outside. Children’s activity tonight outside- bubbles and magic. Room we are in is quite close to beach. Room was clean on arrival. Maintenance quickly arrived to fix a clogged drain- fixed it perfectly and he was a polite man. All staff have been pleasant. Rooms could use some upgrading. Hallways outdated paint & odd smell. Cool pools. Beds comfortable. Our main problems is the thin doors. Makes for a very noisy experience.

The resort itself is great; lots to do, beautiful landscaping, awesome pools, amenities, and proximity to the beach is amazing. However, the staff and overall customer service is just awful. Every person we’ve encountered at the front desk seems to be so annoyed with our presence, and shows nothing but attitude. Got example; we called a couple weeks before our vacation check in to see if an early check in was something available. We were told it was, and that there would be an extra charge; no problem. We get to the hotel over an hour after our early check in (normal check in I believe is 3 or 4 pm, because of our flight, we requested early check in at noon. We got to the hotel at 1:15pm), went to the front desk and was told, “early check in is a request, and not a promise to accommodate, and we don’t have to have your room ready before 3-4 (can’t remember if the normal check in time is 3 or 4pm). Besides, I think we’re fully booked anyway, so early check in really isn’t an option for you. This of course would have been fine had we simply been told and therefore planned accordingly. The woman at the front desk was so incredibly rude from the moment we walked in, as though us showing up to our paid in full reservation was such an inconvenience. Also, I went online to check the “fully booked” comment, and their website showed availability for nearly every area, so that wasn’t even true. Despite their AWFUL customer service throughout our entire vacation stay (we couldn’t even get the front desk to answer the phone when calling from our room after running out of towels, toilet paper etc because house keeping didn’t show up, multiple times) and unfortunately have several more examples, the resort itself was pretty awesome, and very well maintained. The rooms were not maintained at all, but the rest of the property was great. Overall, worth coming for the resort itself but do not expect rooms to match the rest of the resort and expect absolutely nothing customer service wise.

The pool was nice but dirty at end of day. The room was small and needed a major update. Bathroom was a joke like no update since the 70’s. Carpet was not clean either. Still had a good time. Beach was part of the resort which was great. Still everyone had a nice time. Drinks were seriously watered down

Everything and everyone made this trip a fantastic experience! Nested in the beautiful teal, emerald waters of Ft. Walton Beach, the amenities of the hotel made the experience so nice and gave a great variety of choices. The pools optioned with The Grotto, broke the heat of the day, the Cabana pool, so warm and great towel service from Linda, fresh towels and very friendly. Had fun hearing Karaoke, live bands, zumba (instructor was great!!) and the DJ- Amanda on Sunday played the best variety, definitely knowing her crowd! Fun trivia questions too. I can’t say enough. This vacation was a true vacation filled with fun and relaxing adventures. Shopping and restaurants close by were super handy! Thanks Ft. Walton and the staff at The Island.

In the mid to late 70’s this was my favorite place. Since then a lot of effort shows in the enchanting tropical atmosphere and exterior upgrades to the hotel. It’s absolutely beautiful. I arrived at the front desk without a reservation. A beachfront room with a balcony is what I hoped for. This hotel IS NOT friendly towards people with disabilities. Exterior construction is in-progress and construction equipment, specifically a large bucket lift, was taking two handicap parking spaces. I could only find one other handicap parking spot and a vehicle without a handicap icon was parked there. I requested a downgrade to a room close to a parking spot. The price difference was only a few dollars less. When I entered the room it was not ready to be occupied. It appeared to have an electrical issue. The manager said that he is keeping the charge for a room which I did not occupy. The kind lady at the front desk arbitrated in my defense and persuaded the manager to refund my full charge. I am promised a full refund and waiting for the charge to drop from my credit card statement.

Absolutely the BEST experience! As a last minute decision, for a quick getaway for my birthday, I wanted to go somewhere different. I chose Fort Walton and couldn’t have been ANY happier! I chose this place because the pictures I saw online were inviting and looked like fun. It was top notch! When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted by a wonderful lady named Jackie R. She treated us like we were the first guest of the day. Actually seemed happy to see us and help us. She definitely enjoys her job. Her personality and kindness told me that I picked the best place! The room was great! This resort has everything. You do not have to leave this place. It has restaurants ( which has excellent breakfast bar ) a couple of pools, one heated, hot tub and much entertainment. I cannot say enough about this place and ALL the people that work there. From front desk, restaurants staff, housekeepers and groundsman, everyone was wonderful and made us feel welcomed and wanted. I had the best birthday here and will never forget my experience on The Island. |Thank you! ❤️🙏🏼

Tried this place from word of mouth and the feedback was everything and more than I wanted. My wife and I tried the yuca fries and the birra tacos and we were not disappointed. Tasted like home cooking and I could not be more pleased. On top of that

First time eating here, we’ve been trying different PuertoRican restaurants in the area, and we were not satisfied at all until we ate here. Food flavor is excellent, menu variety is good, customer service is great and the atmosphere is really nice
