The Intrepid - Hotel in Duluth - 230 E Superior St, USA

I recently had the pleasure of checking out The Intrepid Duluth, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The property is well-maintained, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect—close to downtown making it an ideal spot for exploring the city of Duluth. The amenities provided were top-notch. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the living area was cozy and inviting. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches also were great! One of the highlights of our stay was the stunning view of Lake Superior from the property. It was wonderful to wake up to such a beautiful sight every morning. The proximity to the lakefront and nearby parks made it easy to take in the natural beauty of Duluth. Communication with the host Dillon was seamless and prompt. They were very accommodating and provided all the information we needed for a hassle-free check-in and stay. Overall, The Intrepid Duluth exceeded our expectations and provided a perfect home away from home. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Duluth!

The Intrepid is an incredibly awesome place for a group of friends to stay! We loved the convenience of walking around downtown without any worry. Being close to all the action made our trip super fun. The interior was new, clean, and extremely inviting, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly had a fantastic time at The Intrepid and would highly recommend it to all our friends looking for a memorable trip to Duluth. It's the perfect spot for anyone seeking both comfort and excitement in the heart of the city!

I loved the Intrepid for three reasons: 1) Very clean & comfortable, 2) Suites are better than hotel rooms (they have a common space, too, which would be great when traveling with others), and 3) it is an easy walk to the lake shore, Canal Park, Fitgers, and other interesting places in Duluth (and good food). ||Would I stay there again? Absolutely.||By the way, we had Suite 8 with huge windows overlooking Superior Street and the historic Greysolon building. Look at the photos!

I stayed in the Intrepid Building’s Suite #5 in June 2024. The corner suite had expansive windows showcasing Lake Superior and Canal Park’s Aerial Lift Bridge. Inside, the high ceilings and modern interior provide spacious accommodation and a great alternative to the traditional hotel room. The suite includes modern artwork, stylish, comfortable furniture, chic linens, and exceptional lighting. Separate HVAC systems for the living and bedroom areas ensure a comfortable stay. The living room includes a charging block with multiple outlets and direct connections for USB-A and USB-C devices. The well-appointed bathroom boasts fluffy and luxurious towels. The suite includes a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. Plans for a shared space look promising, although it wasn’t completed at the time of my stay. There is some traffic noise from nearby I-35, so if you’re sound sensitive, I’d recommend asking for a suite with views of Superior Street instead of Lake Superior. The location is spectacular and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, cocktails, and Canal Park. An exceptional new property in downtown Duluth!

I came here for a long weekend in Duluth. It was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s right in downtown Duluth and a very short walk to the lake. The rooms were very clean and the suite was very spacious. I would definitely stay here again!!

The Intrepid is an awesome location downtown Duluth with quick access to a gorgeous River walk. The accommodations are well appointed and comfortable. The issue guests need to be aware of is that this is a self service hotel. You will need to have a code to the hotel in order to check yourself in. Instructions are emailed hopefully before you leave home as this process isn't user friendly. We stayed 3 nights but had no room service, no clean towels, no Kleenix, coffee for one morning, and no bottled water anywhere. If you have an issue, you will need to message and wait for a reply. This was an issue for another family member who couldn't get the key pad to let him check in so he was on the street unable to park and waiting for a reply. My situation was complicated by the fact that I couldn't retrieve my emailed instructions from Intrepid allegedly because a problem had occurred with the server. Unfortunately I wasn't anticipating the lack of service. This is a cool rental but guests need to be prepared for self service.

Beautiful room chosen by my travel mates. Found on Airbnb but owner said to book on their website for cheaper but it wasn’t, and you don’t you see prices to realize that or get a receipt- had to look at credit card statement. Shouldn’t have believed him. We parked in the medical ramp a block away for $12- very handy. My mom forgot something in the room, I emailed and also used the form on their website about it and didn’t hear back. Room won’t be quiet when the road is finished in front of it- but easily walkable to the lake/ lift bridge and some shops.

As a life-long Duluthian, I am very excited about this new rental property in the heart of downtown Duluth! The property offers stunning views of Lake Superior, and is conveniently located very close to the Lakewalk as well as fantastic places to eat and shop. The property host is welcoming and responsive. I highly recommend The Intrepid in Duluth to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in this beautiful city!
