Nice place, quaint and unique. Comfortable and good location near Illinois State Beach, just short of the border with Wisconsin. Reasonable prices, rooms are comfortable, good breakfast. Nice sunny café. After a few visits, the last visit they wouldn't honor the reservation, they sold it out from under us with no notification so I only found out after almost arriving when I called. All area hotels were sold out, so I'm guessing they just got a better price (I had a discounted rate). Supposedly the manager, not on duty that day, had notified me the day before but nothing in email, no text, really just a prevarication. I'm not the sort that asks for some sort of compensation, I would have been satisfied with an apology, but there wasn't one, I waited a couple of months to post this review. I wouldn't recommend this place anymore.

Simply Beautiful hidden gem. Luxurious accommodations, very elegant and reasonably priced Baecation. Best decor for a small town hotel. Highly recommended staff and themed rooms, Immaculate grounds with lush vegetation. 5 stars all around, excellent friendly staff. Loved our stay.

Disappointed and angry. I booked 2 rooms on 3/17/2024 at 6:30 pm. Then 19 days out from my trip, July 16th, they send an email saying that they have overbooked and cannot honor my rooms. I had confirmation # 196988222 and # 196982890 for my rooms. They offered 3 other hotel locations that had lower ratings and further into Illinois and the room type 2 queen beds rooms not the same. How does a hotel overbook, I booked back in March, why us? Did we pay lower? It cost us an additional $450.00 to book 2 rooms elsewhere. Don't count on your rooms if you book at this hotel.

Sparkling clean and comfy place to stay while visiting Chicago for a Real Madrid game at Soldier Field. Was greeted and treated so kindly by the charming Jocelyn when checking in. Our room was fresh and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good with many offerings from a waffle station to sausage, bacon and eggs. Checked out at the front desk by Abbie, who was also very kind and sweet. We will be coming back soon to visit 6 Flags with our grandchildren, and will stay here again. |The only perceived negative was that the TV in the breakfast room was playing the polarizing NewsMax channel. I couldn’t find an attendant to request it be changed, so told Abbie at check out. Hotels should not show any channel like that, put on weather or sports so that you aren’t offending half of the population.

The hotel is beautiful, the room was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. The reasons I'm only giving it 4 stars and that I'd never book there again is the curtains in the room don't filter light. It was hard to sleep past sunrise. I'm also not thrilled with the "no smoking property". There were butts all over the ground because they didn't provide ashtrays for smokers. Would have looked a lot better if they'd just put one up

We stayed here for my son's Navy graduation. This hotel is a hidden gem! Upper scale hotel that won't break the bank. The hotel was very clean and modern. We also had a balcony attached to our room. The staff was the nicest I've ever encountered at a hotel! They were very accommodating. The breakfast was out of this world. So many options. Plenty of seating. The rooms were very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again!

Not a good stay. Got a pkg deal only to find out the pkg was very poorly put together- ended up having to Uber instead of using the shuttle . Had to buy our tickets at the event instead of having them at the hotel (they did deduct that from the room price). Only place to eat close by on a Saturday night was across the street- very sketchy. Brought the food back to the hotel, for safety reasons and sat at the tables with an outdoor fireplace- only no one at the hotel had any idea how to work the fire. Couldn’t find the key, or something like that. Our room faced East and there was only a sheer and a very light white curtain. We ended up awake very early, with stiff necks from the pillows. Never again…oh, breakfast was good and the bed comfy. That’s what the stars are for- (and the young lady that was behind the counter 8/12 at 8:30pm).

The front desk people were super nice and the room was clean and comfortable. We were there on a Saturday night and there was a big 60th birthday party taking place in the ballroom. Because of that (and maybe the age of the hotel) the one elevator was always a lengthy wait (several minutes), so I ended up taking the stairs to/from our third floor room. Other than that the rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, but everything felt just a bit dated (especially the bathroom/shower). Also, there were lots of rooms partying late into the night and every time a room around us shut the door (which was frequent until ~2am) there was a jarring bang followed by loud footsteps and people in the hallway that would wake us up- so bring some earplugs or a white noise machine if that noise bothers you while asleep! Overall it was a no frills cheap stay in a relatively hotel baron area. Would stay again if necessary, but wouldn’t seek it out as a “must return” type of hotel.
