Great location right on the beach. This hotel’s location is perfect for walking to numerous restaurants, the bridge, and lighthouse. It’s right on the big lake. Our room was booked last minute, and we were pleased with how clean and spacious it was. We even saw an air show over the lake. Those people with lakeside rooms had an incredible view. Very happy with our last minute choice.

This hotel has a great location but needs renovation. The air conditioning unit was so noisy that we turned it off. Fortunately, the outside temps were cool. The mattresses were old, worn and lumpy. They were so worn that when we laid down, they felt slanted like we would roll out of bed. We had to sleep diagonally on the mattresses but that wasn't that great either because there was a hard ridge in the middle. In the 4 days we stayed, not one staff member came to our room to clean, replenish supplies and towels, or empty the trash. Zero customer service. We expected more for $360 per night. The one redeeming feature is that the view of Lake Superior was great!

We stayed in June for an anniversary celebration. It was the best ever! The rooms were clean and breakfast was delicious. There were giant make your own waffles with some toppings, some pastries, basic fresh fruits, yummy scrambled eggs, sausage (wish it wasn't pork), hot oatmeal, cold cereals, tea, milk coffee, and juices. There was something for everyone. The little ones enjoyed their first time in a pool and hot tub. The heated pool on the roof was the favorite. There were also free adult and kid bikes (no training wheels or toddler size) and free s'more at night. It was so nice to be near the lake. The view was beautiful, especially the sunrise. We all wished we stayed longer and want to go back.

Decided to try a new place for vacation this year. I heard Duluth was a great place to go. I wanted something on Lake superior so I booked with this motel. It was super, the view, the staff, the s’mores at night were an extra bonus. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. If you want a great place to stay, get lakeside and enjoy the view.

Very nice hotel right on Lake Superior. Worth the extra cost to get a room facing the lake but you'll have to plan ahead to reserve a room. Good parking and the way to go to explore Canal Park. Excellent free breakfast included with the room, but go early to get orange juice. Free smores over the fires out back while watching the lake every night. Awesome. Includes hot chocolate but only in the winter. Excellent roof top heated pool open all year, even winter.

Horrible experience. Nobody is ever at the front desk. The experience started with the front desk messing up our room and stated that we needed to pay even though we prepaid online. In the room the balcony was littered with garbage and there was an old coffee pod still in the machine and it was growing mold. When we checked out and tried to express our concerns the employee completely brushed them off. Told us manager was on vacation there was nothing she could do and we would have to call back in a week or 2. We spent $300 for a dirty room with no service. I don't usually like being this direct but it was a very unsatisfying experience.

We booked our stay here after we had a good experience a year ago. But it has gone downhill. Our room was gross to say the least. Random stains all over the bedding, mystery white stains on nightstand and door, peeling toilet seat and the carpet was clearly not vacuumed. Upon check in, the front desk worker was very unhelpful and had an attitude problem, so we made do and removed sheets, wiped up counters and continued on with our day. But come day two, we found more filth, so we checked out at 5pm and didn't even bother staying another night. The location is great, but the hotel service and room themselves were very poor in quality. Not worth the $300+ a night. Definitely check out other hotels first!

Our family stayed in canal park for a wedding last weekend. We stayed here for 3 nights with 5 children 14-3. I was so surprised by the room for what we paid -$816 for 3 nights. There was mold on the white curtains, the air conditioner doesn’t reach the first room so one room is hot and the other cool, the furniture was in bad shape, peeling wallpaper, a very stained coffee table, drawers held together by tape. We needed to use a set and we found out why they were taped together- they fall open! So we would walk into the drawer if we weren’t paying attention. The breakfast was always empty- and we didn’t go close to closing time. 3 waffles makers. Some scrambled eggs. An empty dried container for oatmeal. Dry cereal. And a juice machine that was empty. I was honestly so surprised at how it was! We paid so much for a good trip for a wedding and Mother’s Day and i feel we way overpaid. Or perhaps we just paid for the location. The view and the patio were amazing! The rooftop pool was good, but full of old towels lying around. The indoor pool, hot tub and sauna were nice. Smores 8-10 is nice but go asap. Starting at 945 they’ll put it all away. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff. Some of them we felt like a complete bother but another man that was running the desk Saturday evening was kind.

We had an incredible stay and loved that it was in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood - there were lots of shopping and breweries within close walking distance. The room itself was amazing, very spacious and stylish and we felt right at home.
