The Inn of Lincoln - Hotel in Lincoln - 563 US-3, USA

If it wasn't a little after midnight when we got there we would have not stayed. No cover on one outlet, a leg was falling off the nightstand, exhaust fan in the bathroom was hanging down on one side and it couldn't be run because it made a terrible noise, no elevator to the second floor, and the phone was flashing we had a message but would not play it. Overall the room looked and felt old with a coat of paint over it. |We had never started at a Travelodge before but, since it said "by Wyndham" we thought it should be a decent place. Bad assumption on our part.

This stay was pretty awful from beginning to end. Walking in to register there was a terrible smell of garbage. The office was locked and no employees in sight. I called and someone came to get me registered. This person provided no information about the hotel (pool hours, breakfast etc.). |I parked my car and brought my bags up to my room. The stairs were sketchy and old. An employee drove a moped indoors as I was walking up the stairs. There was a broken bench in front of my door. I entered the room and turned on the light. There was a mini fridge on the floor of the closet area, topped with a microwave with no knob to operate it. On the bedside table was an old phone that read Hilton but this is not a Hilton. The mattress of the king size bed was as hard as the floor. I tried to make a coffee but the little machine would not turn on. I later learned the outlet it was plugged into was controlled by the light switch. I tried to plug in my phone and the outlets were too loose to have anything stay plugged in. I turned on the television and flipped through a few channels before the cable went out and I got a no signal message. Started streaming on my phone and the internet would not support streaming even though it is advertised as high speed internet. I did go down to ask for coffee in the morning and instead of giving my a packet to brew in my room, I was asked to wait for them to brew a pot. While down there I was able to see the breakfast offerings: corn flakes, fruit loops and packaged bagels. How this is considered a Wyndham resort is beyond me. This place was a complete joke from start to my departure. If it hadn’t been Memorial Day weekend and no vacancies in the area I would have left as soon as I arrived.

I expected very little and that is what we got. Room is dated but I expected that. What bothered me was lamp did not work, the lights fixtures each had only one working bulb. That tells me the owner is either very cheap or there is no attention to upkeep. The pool is listed as heated, but 70* doesn't cut it. Lastly their WiFi is a 2g network. At least the room was clean. One and done here

Run down motel with surly staff. The no cars in the parking lot should have been my first clue. Overwelming pungent odors of food and cheap cologne permeated the run down premises. The outlets were all loose and would not hold any plug in items except for bathroom. Internet was 2G not the advertised high speed.|Key card malfunction for door x3.|The manager could not even use his key card necessitating the use of manual key. To which he angrily replied “ it’s broken and you stay in here now for the night”|The phone did not work and was actually an old phone from a different hotel chain.|Horrible experience.

What a strange place. The exterior of the building looks like they started a renovation in 1988 and forgot about it halfway through. The interior is odd too, I really can’t explain it but it becomes like an indoor motel. I should also mention I only paid 71.00 for a double queen room. Not bad but this place is the perfect example of you get what you paid for. I had to sign a waiver that if I smoked in this non smoking room I would be fined 250.00. Weird considering the second we climbed the aging wooden stairs and opened the room door, we were blasted with the stink of cigarette smoke. I figured I’d crack the window but it only opened to the hallway. The electric outlets were missing faceplates. The comforter on one bed had cigarette burns in it. The bathroom floor was spongy and looked like it hadn’t been updated since George H. W. Bush was President. The bathtub had no drain trap just an open hole for the drain. Just an odd place. There were candy wrappers on the side of one bed and the carpet for sure smelled off. We were only here for the night and I arrived around 9 pm. We figured whatever, we’ll just crash and be out early in the morning. The pillows were like pancakes and everytime I moved the springs made obscene noises and the headboard smashed the wall. Haha unbelievable. The worst part is when I finally fell asleep after my feet went numb from the concrete mattress, I woke up because it was like 85 degrees in the room. The thermostat was OFF. I mean we were literally sweating on a late September night when it was in the 40’s F outside. There was a wall unit ac so I turned it on. It started to cool off after a bit ( it was now 1:30 am) but the pictures on the wall and the beds would vibrate every time the ac cycled. After a somewhat miserable sleep we went down to check out the “continental breakfast”. It consisted of a container of stale fruit loops and cornflakes, a few purces of fruit and tang. So awkward it shared the same space as the tiny check-in office. We skipped the bird food and escaped as fast as we could. What a dump. Would not recommend unless you have low standards and are looking for a place to crash. Again at 71.00 a night you get what you pay for.

As they say, you get what you pay for. We spent the first night of our 4 day camping trip with pouring rain, a thunderstorm and the forecast was foreboding. Since we'd already paid for our campsite, I thought I'd try to find something "affordable".||We've stayed at many Wyndham hotels before and are members. Some were being renovated and were nice. In spite of the reviews we thought we'd give it a try.||Wyndham....this place really needs your help. This does nothing for your company's reputation and is very disappointing after having good experiences at your other hotels. ||If you watched "Schitt's Creek"....this a few steps below that hotel. I would have preferred a Motel 6 to this.||The only positive i can share is the the woman in the office was pleasant enough. As soon as I walked in the room, I felt I needed to search for signs of bed bugs. I was pleasantly surprised to not find anything (I'll update if found when we get home, didn't put anything on the floor) and to see that the room was at least sort of clean. The bed was uncomfortable with some sort of rod down the middle. I don't know where they got the photos of the rooms....nothing like reality. The whole place needs to be updated and managed. Old headboard, old lamps, old rugs....outdated and old. Bathroom seemed to have been updated some...New floors and paint slapped on walls.||And, don't get me started on the free "breakfast". A few bags of store bought bagels and bread, cereal, hard boiled eggs and rotten fruit. Worst coffee I've tasted at a hotel...undrinkable. And, no place to sit and eat the so called breakfast.||All in all, I wish we'd stayed at our campsite and toughed it out. Staying at this hotel was less comfortable than our comfy mattress and things we brought for camping in our tent..even with the rain. Since I hadn't gotten trip insurance, we stayed. Lesson learned.||I rarely give negative reviews and feel bad, but felt I had to warn people. There are plenty of other hotels/motels in the area....spend the money and stay at one of them until Wyndham does something wit

This place is...odd. It was clearly built as a motel, with the rooms opening to the outside. Subsequently, an enclosure was built. It's mostly glass, though, which makes the area inside it a green house hot box. |The room felt clean enough I suppose, but it had an awful vibe. The lighting was terrible, the bathroom door had a broken hinge and debris in the tub. The window AC unit was built into the wall, and worked quite well but it was loud.|Breakfast was terrible. It was a few bags of grocery store bagels, and prepackaged mini muffins that were hard as a rock. Do you know how long it takes prepackaged muffins to get THAT hard? There was also a basket of dozens of hard-boiled eggs that looked stale when we tried one, and the "orange juice" was Tang. I like Tang, but call it Tang. It's not orange juice.|The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but this is by no means a palace.

Booked room online through Priceline.com. I selected this property because it is close to Loon and has a pool. When I got to the property there was a sign posted no pool needs repair December 2022. I complained at check-in that it is false advertising if you have pool but it is closed and no idea when it will be repaired. Getting into room with key was difficult and should not be. When I got into my room it had a bad perfume smell maybe from cleaning product trying to cover another smell. The smell triggered my asthma and I attempted to get a refund as I couldn’t stay at this property and management refused to refund me. $180. I had to find somewhere else to stay and pay full rate elsewhere. This property needs a lot of work. Management wasn’t easy to understand and had an attitude that was extremely unprofessional.
