The Hub Murray Hill, BW Premier Collection - Hotel in New Providence - 535 Central Ave, USA

My family and I are currently staying here at the hotel, almost a year after staying here the last time. The elevator still doesn’t work, nor do the sauna and the TVs attached to the exercise equipment in the gym. The gym is very warm, as the AC does not seem to be working, and there are two portable fans running. The room also does not cool to the desired setting, and it took all night to get to a comfortable temperature. We will never stay at this hotel again, nor recommend it to anyone!

Problem with HVAC. This hotel has great staff, very friendly and professional, the room was clean. Moe’s restaurant is very nice, great food. Nice to have access to a coin operated washer/dryer. The problem is the room we stayed in, the air conditioning blew out cold, damp air, floors sticky due to humidity. The room smelled musty. Towels never dried. The hallways smell of strong deodorizer, obviously to cover mustiness. The cost of a 2 night stay was $380, way overpriced for being so uncomfortable. Used to be a great place to stay, now, not so much. Don’t recommend.

Positive: "" Negative: When I checked in, was informed elevator was not working and our room was on second floor. Then found ice machine also nonworking on second floor. Hotel was being renovated. Room had an odor that showed up during night. Burnt popcorn smell.

First room had blood on the sheet (king bed, first floor). Hair on the bed. Went to front desk and she put me in studio king bed suite - it did not have the same problem. Nothing was said during check out. Saw a lot of construction workers are staying in this hotel lately. Saw bed sheet was out in front of some of the rooms during my way out in the morning. Not sure same issue happened or not. Breakfast banana was bad and fruit flies were swarming all over. The rooms are big but old. Some of the bathrooms had grouts peeling off, having ants/insect issue. Overall okay place to stay for cheaper price. Some of the front desk folks are really good, some of them are not. Restaurant is good. The workout room is okay as well. Not a place I recommend for business travelers.

Great location, safe area, 8 min walk to NJ Transit train stop from which you can go to Penn Station in Manhattan, so cheaper way to see NYC and w/ free parking. Clean and well appointed, albeit decor leans a bit gaudy. Great breakfast. Staff very friendly.

We stayed here to attend a friends weedding in may 2024. They put us in a room right over the restaurant, where apparently they were having a wedding party for the owners family member. Party started at 1 am. We had no warning, and no one consIdered to put us elsewhere, knowing we werent pary of the wedding party and we were with a small child. I think i gave it about 20 minutes of the entire room vibrating, with techno music like it was the bathroom of a rave at 1 am, before i went down and demanded a room change. We had to move all of our stuff across the entire building at 2 am. We had constant arguments with staff over basic questions. No one came to our room to clean and the sign was on thr door for days. We were very happy to leave and do NOt recommend that anyone stays here. Sure youll save a few bucks, but you will pay in other ways.

A few years ago, the owners did a tasteful renovation of the entire property. The rooms are logically arranged and appointed, the smallish common area is inviting, and the fitness center (which as far as I can tell is never used) is perfectly fine for a smaller hotel. The attached restaurant is good (not cheap) and has a great bar. The included breakfast is about what you would expect. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, yogurts, waffles, etc. Good coffee, too.

Nice property, recently renovated. Clean, plenty of parking. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Good value. Very close to downtown Summit and Chatham. Streamline check in and out. I would recommend this hotel for business travelers or families.
