The Hoxton, Downtown LA - Hotel in Los Angeles - 1060 S Broadway, USA

The Hoxton in DTLA is my favorite hotel to stay at. In 2023, I was staying at the hotel about 2-3 times a month since our LA office is just across the street. Time to time, the hotel would be fully booked and I would have to select a different hotel nearby but I always preferred to stay at the Hoxton. It's become my home away from home.||The rooms are comfortable and have convenient USB ports. They also provide free water, coffee, and tea unlike the Ace Hotel. While the Ace Hotel has larger rooms, I like how cozy these are and the shower has great water pressure. The clothing steamers are a welcome change from drippy irons. While the restaurant Cabra on the rooftop gets a lot of traffic for their cocktails and delicious food (order the beef empanadas!), the hidden bar in the lobby is great for anyone looking to have a quiet drink.||What keeps me coming back to the Hoxton is the service and the people. Everyone from the valet, front desk reception, sales, bartenders, wait staff, host/hostess, and more are so nice and personable. The staff always accommodates my needs for a quiet room and dairy free milk for my morning tea. On many occasions, I would get fun hand drawn cards that welcomed me in the room. It's a really nice and personal touch. I've saved all of them! Sometimes a bubbly drink or treat would accompany the cards. ||Shoutouts to:||Sales: Anna Lee for constantly having to move my reservations with my crazy hectic schedule. This is a very tall ask since I frequently have to move meetings around. She is j-amazing!||Day Front Desk: Everyone is super nice but I wanted to call out Meghan Bravo for always having the best smile. She is the epitome of great service and once saved me from being late to a work dinner by calling up a yellow cab when Uber and Lyft failed to show up. On another occasion, she gave me a small card with an inspirational quote that she thought best suited me and my life goals.||Late Night Front Desk: Zack for coming up to check on my shower and moving me to another room when it didn't work. He asked if I wanted an upgrade and I said no, I just needed a working shower but he upgraded me anyways.||Lobby Bar: Brandon is great and Dane always stops by to say hello if he sees me in the lobby while I wait for an Uber and welcomes me to come visit the bar after my dinner events. Both are friendly and are easy to talk to.||Downstairs Restaurant when it was still Cafe Basque: Alexis who gave great recommendations along with sharing his life story while I ate alone. I had just had a successful product launch and was celebrating by myself when he poured me a glass of bubbles in honor of it.||Valet: Everyone is lovely. Whether I have a car to valet or not, they always greet me in the morning as I start my day. On December 27th, 2023, I was headed to an early dinner and was waiting for an Uber. A dark haired gentleman who was working at the Valet station put himself in front of me as there was someone who was mentally ill and acting erratic while walking by. He could see that I was uncomfortable and he had me wait by the valet station. He looked for my Uber and made sure that I got in safely. I wish that I got his name.

Simply love this hotel. Always above and beyond satisfied with each stay. Beds are super comfortable, staff always great. Rooftop restaurant Cabra is simply delicious!! The newish diner in the lobby delivered new twists to old favorites - I'll be dining there again.||Can't wait for my next stay!

I can’t speak higher of this hotel. My partner and I stayed here for two nights the night of our wedding and after, and we wish that instead of leaving to stay at an all inclusive resort, we just stayed here instead! Some highlights: The shower I could have lived in there. It was the best rain shower that I’ve ever experienced. The water heated quickly and the actual shower dried fast after each use. The bed Super comfortable and big. The room I do have a few critiques, like the TV is placed in such a way that you can only really see it from one side of the bed and there should be a vent in the bathroom, but otherwise, I loved how cleverly the space was used and designed. We loved finding new things to admire in the room. The cafe Service was great and the food was delicious. The staff Super helpful and kind. We had an issue one night where security left the cafe music on all night, so we didn’t actually sleep the first night. But once we altered the staff, they handled it quickly and we had a great night’s sleep the next night. Other bits We sadly didn’t get a chance to use the pool or eat at the restaurant on the top floor, but we so wish we had as the food looked great. And the rooftop views were incredible. In conclusion My partner and I are now figuring out how we can come back because we loved it so much! If you’re debating staying there, don’t! You’ll have a great night’s sleep and a great stay.

I love this hotel. Great staff. We have stayed here a few times over the years. Recently, however like many chain hotels the advertised rates never match final charges due to hidden fees or as in the case of booking through Expedia, overtly deceptive bait and switch.

It's the vibe. Highly recommended.||I was at the Hoxton for a business trip, but my wife tagged along when she saw the hotel I picked (she does that), so it was kind of a "bleisure" trip.||I stay at a few hotels, so hotel stays tend to blend together. At the Hoxton, the service and feeling of the hotel set it apart - a nice warm welcome at the curb, the door was *always* opened for us during our entire stay and the people at the front desk couldn't be more helpful. We dined at Moonlark's (try the chilaquiles) and at the rooftop restaurant where we saw a well-known TV star as a bonus. Going up to the rooftop restaurant (Cabra's), we rode up with a server who hyped the restaurant, and we asked her what was good (Tuna + Tots and Yuca Fries), which we promptly ordered and enjoyed.||The rooms are where the vibe really comes in - downtown views, stylish yet functional (coffee bags, like tea bags w/ good coffee), cold beverages in the fridge, a steamer instead of an iron, pretty cool light switches (it's the little things), a bag you can put out the night before to get morning goodies, and unique and distinct toilet and shower areas, with good housekeeping that even tidied up our stuff in a cool way ($20 tip for creativity). Of course, it was a comfy bed, too.||Finally, the neighborhood. Staying in a downtown hotel, safety is always something to consider, but we felt safe walking around the Fashion District - a couple of blocks over, they sell actual fabrics and it's crazy to see. Then there is the Grand Central Market within walking distance, too - a food market with all kinds of stalls and some great people watching at the foot of the Angel's Flight - a trolley that goes up the side of a hill. Pay the $2 for a round trip for the view.||You should stay here.

Such a cute and chic hotel! Location is centrally located that we were even able to walk to Orange Theory to get a little vacay workout in. Staff were all very nice and friendly. The valet parking was easy getting in and out. We loved the rooftop bar at night. The drinks and food were amazing! Super cute up top, very chill. Even the cafe downstairs was simply delicious. Came with a girl friend and we both felt safe being there by ourselves.

‘Destination fee’ is 56 dollars PER NIGHT. I asked what for - “canned water and toilet paper” they said. Are there gold flakes in the water? I’ve never seen a destination fee this high, ever. The good: Lobby is super cute and comfortable, decent location and a really nice and large area to chill on the roof anytime of the day with lots of comfy couches. The shower is amazing. The bad: Room was humid even when the outside had perfect crisp air (November) and using the AC to control climate was difficult, room was really really small (cozy queen), TV didn’t work correctly.
