The House on the Rock Resort - Resort hotel in Spring Green - 400 Springs Dr, USA

We had the most wonderful weekend here. The room view of the fall foliage was breathtaking. Pictures don’t even do it justice. The rooms are not modern but I am not saying this as a negative. I hope they always keep them this way. There is something so nice and relaxing about not having a modern hotel room especially with the design of the hotel itself. The staff were amazing and so friendly. The pool was spectacular and the Spa was and is definitely a must do while staying here. While didn’t golf, the course is stunning and adds to the whole experience. The pub was nice, food was delish and the bartender was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were hands down some of the best food I’ve ever had and Dawn and Rita were so accommodating and friendly. You can truly tell the chef has a passion for his work. I just can not say enough good things about this place. This is definitely going to become an annual trip for us!

The front desk and pub staff were friendly and personable. But a lack of staffing left pub staff working harder and reduced other services. The bed was fairly comfortable. The rooms were dated but peaceful, interesting layout, but the tub looked a little dirty. We found soap left in the bathtub. The location is wonderfully peaceful in the evening. During the day, you can watch people on the golf course from your room. The pool area was great and although we didn't use it, there was a very well-equipped workout area. All in all a great stay after a day at the House on the Rock nearby.

Great location, and a good deal if you are also going to The House on the Rock. Really nice to have such a good breakfast option right in the hotel also! Building and rooms are definitly dated, place could certainly use a pretty big refresh. View from our room was amazing, and it was nice and quiet and relaxing there. Great indoor pools, although sadly the indoor hot tub was out of service most of our visit.

Stayed here from MN with friends to visit House on the Rock attraction. Before the weekend was out I was already diacussing plans to return here for the relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The service was fantastic! We enjoyed using the workout room, pool, hot tub, and sauna. The restraunt here consistently made noteworthy delicious meals with very pleasant service.

I've been to more modern and upscale hotels, but for some reason this one always draws me back!! I love it here and I try to get down every few years or so. Majestic views and nostalgic decor are a huge draw. The House on the Rock itself is a feast for the eyes, and I love turning people on to this place. Treat yourself and someone you love, go there!!

We loved this resort! Had a nice room overlooking the large golf course with a private patio! We booked both the room and tickets to House on the Rock package! We had a nice room with separate living area from the bedroom. We ate at the Golf Course Pub, in the basement floor! When we came out we looked into the pool area - surrounded by glass! Large with a large lap pool and hot tubs! My husband said - WOW, it is so clean in there, the water and pool area! We are going in! So we also got to relax in their beautiful pool area! I would stay again!!

I know this is long, please read. We go to the resort every year knowing how old it is and what to expect. This time we took our in-law's with and I forewarned them the place is out of date but clean. So we arrive and of course the in-law's room both beds have hair in them and on the pillows. We check our room and found hair in the bathroom and our bathroom floor was dirty. The staff did reclean the in-law's room and I know the place is short staffed, but you can't give people dirty rooms for a premium price and do this. So we shook it off and the following day we took them to the house on the rock, had a good time. When we got back we all wanted to soak in the hot tub because of so much walking and some shopping we did after being at the house on the rock. Well we get ready to go to the hot tub and its down for maintenance. I couldn't believe it! I was so ticked off! So what cha gonna do, nothing. We relaxed a bit then went out for dinner. When we return from dinner the TWO people behind the desk couldn't even look up or acknowledge we were there, they were on their phones. So sad that this place is being run like this. I'm sure in its prime days it was so wonderful, and I get it. Its older and you expect that, but this kind of stuff shouldn't be happening. I think we're going to stay somewhere else next year. I have been coming to this resort for over most of my life and I'm 54. This was where my father liked to go. If we go back I hope its better, we'll see. Good luck to you all.

I would not recommend staying here. There was a dirty blanket on the floor of the closet. It was dusty and just not clean. I was told that the reason why is that they are understaffed and got a huge sigh from the lady at the front desk, as if I was unreasonable for bringing these things up. Don't expect the pub to be open after 8 pm for a night cap. Don't expect much of anything!!! There was great service the day of check in with a younger woman who was super nice and helpful, but that was the only positive thing about the resort.
