We are recently back from a trip to Salem celebrating my birthday and Christmas. We chose the Hotel Salem without knowing much about it, but wow, did we choose well. The room was large and comfortable, the location perfect for exploring Salem, the restaurant excellent, and the staff wonderful. And while everyone we met there was great, the Hotel has an extraordinary young man named Zach at the desk. He went out of his way to welcome us, make us feel at home, give recommendations for restaurants and places to explore, and so much more. He even arranged a surprise platter of cookies for my birthday. We had such a great time we are already planning to return in the spring. Kudos for creating an amazing hotel experience!

Best hotel ever. It doesn't even need a pool to be great. Just being in the heart of Salem is enough. The rooms are amazing and unquie. The vibe of the hotel is amazing. I can't wait to come back this year! I have stayed over 6 times and can't wait to come back! The manager, Zach, is literally THE best! 11/10 hands down my favorite hotel!

I had my wedding at Misselwood Estate in Beverly on fourth of July weekend, and after much research I decided The Hotel Salem was the perfect spot for my wedding weekend festivities. I worked with Olivia Keefe- the Events and Sales Coordinator and she is amazing. She was both professional and organized. She will knock it out of the park for all your wedding needs. We booked Room Blocks, Suites, Rehearsal lunch, and Welcome Drinks in the Cellar. Everything was sensational. The food, drinks, and service was top-notch. The Location was perfect for all of my out of town guests to stay at. I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Salem for your wedding and utilizing their team for any events you may have.

Our wedding day at The Hotel Salem was nothing short of magical, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible team, particularly Olivia, who went above and beyond to ensure that our vision came to life flawlessly. From the moment we chose The Hotel Salem as our wedding venue, the experience was marked by professionalism and a genuine commitment to making our day extraordinary. Olivia, the event coordinator, was an absolute star. Her attention to detail, creative insight, and unwavering dedication to executing our vision were truly commendable. Olivia worked tirelessly to understand our preferences, and her communication skills and responsiveness throughout the planning process put us at ease, and we knew we were in capable hands. On the big day, Olivia orchestrated every detail with precision, ensuring that the venue looked even more stunning than we had imagined. The staff at The Hotel Salem deserves a special mention for their exceptional service. From the front desk to the kitchen team, everyone was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make our guests feel welcome. The seamless coordination and teamwork were evident throughout the event, contributing to the overall success of our celebration. Zach, in particular, stood out for his helpfulness and attentiveness. He was a true asset, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that any last-minute requests or adjustments were handled with ease. Zach's dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction added an extra layer of assurance to the entire wedding experience. Our guests are still raving about the beautiful venue, impeccable service, and the overall warmth they felt at The Hotel Salem. The food was specifically a star my guests could not stop raving about the unique flare the food had. If you're in search of a venue with a dedicated and talented team that can bring your vision to life, look no further than The Hotel Salem. Olivia and the entire staff turned our wedding day into a dream come true, and for that, we are forever grateful. Thank you all for making our special day truly unforgettable!

Stayed in a micro-King during one of the busiest times in Salem. The staff is phenomenal, truly great. The room could be great with a few little upgrades. Since we booked late and I think got their actual last room - the cost was very high. I don't think it's that much normally. Would definitely stay again. It's in the middle of everything you want to do in Salem.

The beds were comfy and modern feel. The staff were amazing and I felt like they really took care of us! It is located right in the middle of the town so getting to everything was easy! Salem is completely walkable. We really enjoyed it. It was a super fun girls trip weekend.

we stayed in this hotel during the snow ice storm. They have a side door for convenience. My husband was inside and needed to open this door for me to get inside. My hands were full and it was icy so crossing parking lot to go in main entrance was unsafe. The door was difficult to open because snow had built up at the bottom of door. I used my boot to clear the bottom of door so it could be opened. After several attempts it finally broke free. When checking out 2 days later the hotel attempted to charge us for damage to this door. There was no damage to the door and we had not kicked it to get it open like they claimed. There is a camera mounted outside the door and it could have been reviewed to verify all we did was open this door. We argued this with the front desk and then they informed us we could not stay there anymore because we were not a good fit. Also the door that was stuck was an emergency exit and should have been cleared at all times.

This hotel is in the perfect downtown location and is filled with modern, trendy decor which caught our attention. The location really is great, if you are spending some time in downtown Salem it is a must, we made plenty of stops back at this hotel for restroom breaks as public restrooms are limited in the area. We stayed in the king room with a trundle and it was plenty spacious enough for 2 people. I like the layout and decor of the rooms. The view from our room was also great (picture attached). I would definitely stay here again but there are a few minor downsides to consider before your stay. The water pressure is weak…now this could have just been our room but thankfully our stay didn’t fall on a hair washing day or I would have been struggling. We stayed on the 3rd floor, this is located directly under their rooftop bar/restaurant. In the evenings the hallway and our room reeked of food. For some this may not be an issue but I don’t want my hair and clothes to smell like food. But with that being said the rooftop bar was nice (we didn’t try the food) unfortunately it is now closed for the season. Our room never got above 67 degrees. As soon as we got in our room we set the thermostat to 71, the temperature fluctuated from 64-67 but never got above 67. This wasn’t a huge issue for us but it may be for some so it is worth mentioning. You can also hear quite a bit from the hallway, the doors offer no sound barrier what so ever. Thankfully our neighbors were courteous and we did not stay during a time where there was a ton of partying. But if you are a light sleeper or have children beware of this. Overall there were a few cons, but for me the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I would recommend a stay here, just be wary of the items mentioned above.

Amazing exhibition. Beautiful story, both authentic and humbling experience. Being able to walk through this house and hear the historical commentary was like being transported back in time. A must see if you are in the area.
